Paula Abdul’s Video Isn’t Banned, Ok?

Dispatch from crack reporter Chris Harris:

This week, several popular blogs and online media outlets have reported that, over here at MTV, a decision has been made not to air “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul’s latest video – for the track “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow” – which debuted on “Idol” last week. One such blog claimed to have spoken to sources, who said the video would not be added to the network’s rotation. An unnamed source, who allegedly spoke to MSNBC, apparently said “the only thing worse for a star like Paula to not have her video on TV is to have it actually rejected by MTV.”

Well, we’re flattered. The truth is, the department that makes such decisions here at MTV hasn’t even seen the clip – no one has submitted the video for airplay consideration. But they’ll be getting their first glimpse of the video on Monday, according to the scuttlebutt inside the building.

So there.

  2. I believe that this song , and video is very Interesting. It's very “ Body Moving” Haha , and puts me into a good mood. Paula is a very Beautiful and Talented Women, I enjoy her Voice and her Personality on American Idol.
  3. i love her and her video. i think it is better than 99 % of other music videos out there. goo Paula!
  4. that is good to know. because i was starting to think maybe MTV would ban Paula just because she is the judge of American Idol. and MTV might be jealous of American Idol for being more popular than them. her video is awesome! they also need to remember that Paula was one of the pop stars who made MTV popular back in the 80s!!
  5. she rocks
  6. it would be stupid of mtv to reject it
  7. MTV doesn't even show videos. What was the point of this story?
  8. The video is hot
  9. can't wait to see Paula's New Video. She's very pretty.
  10. WAIT!! MTV plays videos! Right(!), that's what the initials stand for!!! I stopped watching MTV about 10 years ago. When y'all start showing videos and getting all of the crap off of your station, I might turn it back on. Y'all will approve to play it but it will never make the air. How stupid do you think your viewers are?!
  11. I haven't seen a music video on MTV for a long time - Paula's new video is great! So if you do get back to the music video format, this will be one of the top videos
  12. paula should be Featured on TRL
  13. I like the video and the song. i think its a good comeback. GO PAULA!!!
  14. I miss watching Headbangers Ball. Not this emo garbage they show today...the real headbangers ball.
  15. Why is MTV even called MTV anymore? Shouldn't the name change to RTV-Reality Television because that is all they show anymore.
  16. yea lets hope mtv is not that stupid,
paula was rocking mtv, way before the girls and boy that are on now,
the song and video rock, don't worry mtv doest play it vh1 will and they play more videos then mtv does
  17. The problem is that Paula does not have anything new to say when she is judging Idol. The pauses between each words she speaks make you want to cringe. It shows that her brain is trying hard to get some sense of originality out of her lips. She fails miserably in that department. It is a marvel that such mediocrity can make it onto and remain on a show such as this.
  18. i think that if mtv would consider to put her video onair it would be kind of cool also it would be up to the veiwers plus let them make the judgment plus if it does get put onair great.
  19. I like Paula's new video. It's really cool and the song really does put you in a good mood.
I'd love to see this video again on MTV
  20. why are we even discussing videos on MTV when they never even play videos anyway. They are more concerned with reality tv than music or videos.
  21. Does MTV even play music videos?
  22. Then review and you'll see it's better than a huge majority of the videos you are playing right now...and begin playing it and give her a chance to come back...
  23. I hope MTV plays it, the song is amazing and I love the video.
  24. i haven't watched mtv for ages now, i miss the mtv back then esp. around the early 90's & early millennium era. although, mtv can keep the cribs & pimp my ride! & at least roll it a lil longer. i miss watching mtv music videos really, if only there's a segment like mtv video 'rewind' or 'backward' so i can watch the videos of my fave bands from the 90's. however, i think it would be great if i can catch Ms. Paula Abdul's latest video;) bringing back rosy sweet fun chum mem'ries...Rock On! \m/
  25. Why does MTV no longer play music videos? What a shame they have decided to focus on "reality" TV rather than on music and music videos. Two thumbs down for today's MTV. Give me the MTV of yesterday.
