Poor lil Davey. As if competing on “Idol” in front of the entire nation weren’t enough, it turns out that he has one Dina Lohan-level stage parent to contend with. Naomi Judd was on the Today show yesterday and confirmed all the rumors that David Archuleta’s dad Jeff is a nightmare.
Naomi was a judge on “Star Seach” back in 2003-2004, when little David was on the show. In the clip above (around 3:40), she confirms that the show had to put security on Jeff because he was — how do you say? — totally bonkers. Like, Gypsy-Rose-Lee’s-momma kind of bonkers. There have been rumors for months about the old “Star Search” incidents — and Naomi finally confirmed them. She even took a moment on live TV to ask the man to “leave [David] alone,” calling him “the worst stage dad.”
And thanks to “Idol” blogger Rickey for bringing our attention to this, um, slightly disturbing revelation.

My adviced to David A. be strong and you know what is true - As long as your true to yourself nothing really matter your fans loves you and will be there for you thru thick or thin.
You know showbiz is a mean place to be - Be prepared. Just focus on your music for you bring inspiration to million of people and you give them hope. We all love you!
I find Naomi Judd, pathetic kind of person. I lost my respect.
Please, if you really care about David Archuleta, you shouldn't go into a denial mode and rant about how he is the most wonderful kid in the world. If there is any truth to what Naomi Judd said, you should be thankful that someone cares enough to speak out for him. Would you rather have him continue be the "perfect" little kid but grow up to be the next Michael Jackson?

American Idol even forbid a lot of things about contestant while the show is on. Parents are not allowed to be interviewed.ppl forget that David A is still under 17 and the AI ruling is they must be accompanied by parent. The bottom line is David A is a gifted young lad with an admirable character. Let him sing! ppl around the world are listening. don't start media hype.
So...last week the media coments about American Idol are more about David A dad, David C brother , Brooke sister...etc.

I don't think she is entitled to express her opinion about a person she really does not know well.
Naomi..you are history...David A is the future. What I care about her interview is that David is an amazing person. From what I remember...David A is the contestant, not hid dad.
I don't know what to believe - but whether true or not I do not think it will hurt David's chances at all!
I also think if it is true, it is a good thing it has come out because maybe his dad will have to be more careful and more people will watch out for David.
Some people say that he is only there to help him, support him, coach him...and he is underage so he needs a parent there - okay fine but how come we NEVER see his mother there? it is always just his dad? why don't they alternate some weeks??

If there were abuse, you, as as an adult, a mom.. and as a Christian should have handled and reported any incidents appropriately during the time they were witnessed..: with sensitivity, tack, respect and kindness and MOSTLY confidentially because a MINOR was involved.
Was there a productive reason to blurt this out on TV 5 years later?

Using a TV interview to escalate alleged abuse in such a public mannor... against a minor is disgraceful and the ultimate in hypocracy...especially coming from someone who markets herself in such a pure, loving family way... (It's all the more disturbing). David Archuletta is a breath of fresh air in this world-and has given so many of us hope for humanity. He represents a goodness that seems to missing in todays youth. He is the son that all of us hope to have (or have our young daughters date someday). You have no idea how many people you offended, do you? Your selfishness to gossip has done damage to a young man that certainly does not deserve it. Did he need to be punished somehow by you? Do you think he deserves the extra stress of criticism and public scrutiny of what your words have done? Do YOU FEEL BETTER NAOMI?
David does not appear abused, and quite frankly...IT IS NOT YOUR PLACE TO ADDRESS THIS, nor is it the WORLDS BUSINESS. Go ahead and tell your own family story again the way you want others to percieve you....actions speak louder than well written scripts. In a few minutes on a TV show.....your actions lost you some credibility, and many, many fans of all ages.
Guess what.. a gushing country sorry doesnt mean it never happened, didnt hurt..and everything is ok.

For Jeff Archuleta it is a win, win..... Jeff Archuletta gets a ton of attention with complete control over this fearful child. He is the Grand Imperial Poobah. There is no rational with a man like this. Whether people are praising him or condemning him....he is the winner...he gets the only thing he needs....his drug....attention.
He could care less about David or his mental, physical or emotional heath. He'll toss him away like a used piece of chewing gum when he, (Jeff A.), has something else occur where he'll (Jeff A.) gets attention. He is a monster. I know this well, as I have a parent who is a clone. It took me 60 years to realize it and to distance myself . I doubt that little David will be able to have the eyes to see what abuse he has endured by this heinous man, as he was brainwashed from day one of his life. He sadly has to endure this abuse. My heart feels for him, that he has to be manipulated by evil.
