Yesterday, Captain Montgomery brought you his intense displeasure with Weezer's new single, "Pork and Beans." (Hmm, wonder how it stood up to the new material from Coldplay, which said indie-rock writer spent a chunk of today listening to? Who's snoozy now...?)
Anyways, it took us until today to realize that another chapter is unfolding in the (possibly only kinda relevant) Rivers Cuomo drama, as we see above...the new Weezer album cover! In all its blazing glory!
According to the folks at Spinner, it's yet another self-titled release, heretofore to be referred to as "The Red Album." (Get it? Because it's Swedish-fish red.) And according to the folks at Pitchfork, it's been slapped with this photo because the band feels heavily indebted to the Village People.
I mean, this is all assuming that Weezer (or some fans with time to burn) aren't just messing with us. Actually, thoughts on this...?
