Tokio Hotel Take Over Times Square
tokiohotel1

We like to think of ourselves as a mini United Nations here, so we were delighted when the nice young Germans of Tokio Hotel stopped by the office today, hair and all.

We were pretty shocked Tom would make the undiplomatic move of wearing a Red Sox hat here in Yankee town [Ed: WTF??], but the be-dreaded guitarist assured me he was “so pretty” people can’t really get mad at him. Sorry, Tom, they so can. Fortunately for him, there’s usually a pack of screaming 14-year-old girls (and one burly bodyguard) surrounding you at all times.

Anyway, the band’s English language album Scream drops here tomorrow — it’s already out in Europe, which is why so many shrieking American tweens have all the lyrics memorized. Anime porcupine/frontboy Bill said it was pretty weird recording songs in English that he was used to singing in German. His favorite track to do live off the album is title song, while twin Tom favors “Read, Set, Go!” But don’t worry — they agree on, like, everything else!

Much more on the band’s love of Rammstein, The Scorpions, and The Hoff to come here at MTV News. (Oh, yes, it’s true — they are that adorably lost in translation.) And more pics of the band’s visit, after the jump.

  7. I'm 19 and I know tons of 20+ year olds (male & female) who like Tokio Hotel. I don't think it's right to generalize their fanbase into the "tween" category. But anywho, I'm glad they are finally getting recognized in North America. I can't wait to see them again in concert =]
  8. wow thats tokio hotel
    bill is soooooooooooooo hawt
  9. My god these boys are smexxi!
  10. Tokio Hotel is like one of the most influential people in my life. They are the only band who made me self-study another language just to sing their songs w/ their native tongue.

Also, Tokio Hotel is the only band who makes me spend at least 4 hours/day (during school days) to listen, know the updates, etc about them.

And, during non-school days, I can spend up to 12 hours going online, listening and researching about them.

All I can wish for the band is great success and more loyal screaming fans like me. It just makes me really glad that Tokio Hotel is having such a good time conquering Europe and America. And hopefully, they'll reach out to Asian fans like me who is desperate to meet and greet them.
  11. ah what could i say more, about the living legend tokio hotel.i think its great chance for them to be more and more on american tv.with best luck for TH!and all the fans.
  12. Arghh..TH soo cool..wish the best for them..
  13. i love you guys!!!!!bill is such a sweetie!!1 and tomi well haha what a hotiee!!!!!
  14. Tokio hotel... so sad to see how patheticly overserious people can get over such a band. "Oooooooooooooooh, I love him". Geez. Usually follow by "I'm not 14". Well, you don't have to be 14 physically to be 14 mentally. To me, TH combines the worst of boybands and emos in one ugly package.

I loved the anime porcupine remark btw... :)
  15. I honestly don't care what team hat Tom wears, I still love him and Bill. I can't wait to see them when they finally come back to the U.S.!
  16. OMG!! I luv this band!! They ROCK!!!!! :)(Literally). My friend is like OBSESSED with Bill. She has like soo many pix of him on her wall. its creepy. i barely go ovr 2 her house. just becuz of that. I just like Tom. Hes kewl. and so is Bill. i guess.

it was omg!i have it recorded it i still watch it everyday before going to school..

    xD

TOKIO HOTEL ROCKS!and if you dont like them...then dont read stuff about them!
  18. If they have made it this big with their first album, this young, I know that they are gonna make it BIG. And Bill's English is getting really good. They are going to send SHOCKWAVES. I love how in their songs, they mix up all these different genres. Their music is truly on-of-a-kind. I just wish that they would hit the south for once instead of just NY and LA. I love how they are actually a real band who writes their own lyrics and everything. Not some mainstream pop group like the Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus who have meaningless lyrics written for them. I can't get over how TALENTED they are. And the writer of this article is really arrogant for writing that crap about this group. I LOVE BILL!!
  19. haha well tom does have a point, he really is so cute that no one can accually honestly get mad at him! does anyone know if he has a steady girlfriend?
  20. I love Tokio Hotel so much...ahh but really the English versions of their songs aren't as good as the German...

When I found out they were in NYC I was so depressed, because that's only 3 hours away from me! But I couldn't see them >.
  21. Glad to see yer all being nice about them.
And loving the use of the word adroable too.
Its the first word i think of when i see Bill.
    xD
  22. hahahaha :]]
you spelled "ready, set, go" wrong in the article :PP
