Nick Hogan Gets Jail Time For August Car Crash
billatmic

Nick Hogan, ne Nick Bollea, the 17-year-old son of former wrestler Hulk Hogan, was sentenced Friday (May 9) by a Florida judge for his role in the August car crash that left his best friend, John Graziano, critically injured, according to TMZ.com.

Pleading nolo contendere (or “no contest” for those of you who don’t watch 5 hours of “Law & Order” every night), the mini-Hulkster will serve eight months in jail, after which he will be put on five years’ probation. After his release from prison, Nick must perform 500 hours of community service, as well as complete a DUI school within his first year on the outside.

Finally, throughout his probation, Nick is prohibited from drinking alcohol of any kind.

In a statement to the court, Nick reportedly apologized to the victim’s family.

So was the jail sentence just? Too much? Too little? All I know is that Jack McCoy would have been a lot tougher on him. Sound off below.

  1. Much too lenient of a sentence for a spoiled brat from an ever more bizarre looking family.
  2. Had to comment again after reading some of the messages left. Yeah it was an accident but driving at 100 mph is wreckless. Nick Bollea needs to act like a man, take take his punishment
like a man, admit his guilt and serve his time. And his parents need to admit his guilt, and theirs or they'll have raised a moronic barbarian, not a man.
  3. Got off to easy because he has got money! He should have got 2 years minimum jail with 8 years probation and a two year suspended license to operate a motor vehicle.
  4. Nick deserves sometime but I don't know about 8 months. I just listened to some in jail phone calls from nick to his parents from a local radio station and I'm wowed!! His Mom and Dad really need to stop acting like he didn't do anything wrong, he did. No one wins from this, I just hope Nick takes in that he really did F up. His friend that was injured isn't completely innocent either. Everyone knows to wear a seat belt he chose not to, and he also made the decision to get into a car with an impaired driver. best wishes to both sides!!
  5. They were both in the car together by choice. The government just wants to lock SOMEBODY/ANYBODY up....doesnt matter who!
  6. these two guys decided to get drunk and play around in a car. say they decided to get drunk and play around with a gun and say nick accedently shoots his friend. would people say nick is not responsible for is friend not wearing his bullet proof vest or would you think it would'nt be an issue or beyond the point. a drunk person pointing a gun at all his drunk friends is responsible for any he accedently shoots no matter if they where stupid enough to hang around him.a gun is a deadly weapon. nick turned is car into a deadly weapon.
  7. if it were anybody else who's not a celebrity who had caused that crash and the result was another human being becoming mentally retarded, they would've probably gotten eight YEARS as opposed to 8 MONTHS. Hopefully though, in some way, this will pose as an example to other celebrities who feel invincible within their "immunity" to the law. Nobody's perfect however; everybody makes mistakes.
  8. you all act like he's going to be in jail the rest of his life.....he only got 8 MONTHS! That is not enough time
  9. Graziano should have been wearing his seatbelt. He's just as guilty for his condition as nick is.
  10. How could anyone have any good wishes for this mindless drunken kid, he almost killed someone because he is too selfish to put down the bottle at the right time!
  11. my favorite comment is, "he was a marine, he should have been more responsible."
next time i see you walking down the side walk, I'm going to run you over. my defense will be, "he was an adult, he should have moved out of the way."
  12. my favorite comment is, "he was a marine, he should have been more responsible."

  13. Hi Hulkamaniacs!

I just wanted to let you guys know that Nick is starting his own reality show! It will chronicle his return to civilization after his stint in the clink. Linda and I actually think his time in jail will bolster his ratings! It will be like a "nick on the rebound" type show. What do you guys think? I can't hear you hulkamaniacs?!!!

    -Hulkster
  14. i think nick got punished already for his friend getting hurt , nick learned his lesson and he has to live with his friend got hurt for the rest of his life . so i don't think nick should get any jail time.
  15. I think Nick got off too easy. WHERE DID HE GET ALCOHOL AT 17. The person who sold him the alcohol should be held accountible also or did he get it from his parents stash at home.Part of his sentence should have been to go to Jasons house everyday for the rest of Nicks life and help his parents take care of him. He should be made to look at Jason everdy of his lfe. Celebrities can get away with murder and the common folk get put nder the jail. Where is the justice in our society.
  16. i hope nick hogan is safe while he is in jail for eight months tell him his fan tyler from buffalo will come see him in 3months
  17. I think the whole family sucks!! The other guy is brain dead and Linda says she is suffering and the other mother is not - what is she on - I think Nick should get a life sentence for his recklessness -
  18. THIS IS A SAD STOREY ALL TOGHTHER,THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DRAG RACE!!!NICKS FRIEND GOT IN THE CAR AND DIDN'T PUT HIS SEAT BELT ON THAT IS A LAW!!!! AND THE DRINKING NICK IS 17 AND HIS FRIEND IS 22 UM CONTRIBUTING TO A MINOR.... THIS IS SO SAD I FEEL THEY ARE BOTH AT FALT NOT JUST NICK, HIS FRIEND GOT IN THE CAR AND NEW THEY WERE RACIN RIGHT!!!!!!!
  19. Yer it is tragic n all but you have to remember that the boy knew what he was doing when he got in the car with nick didnt he. So if they would of just drunk drove n not had a terrible accident would that be ok?? I think imprisonment is a bit much community service a severe driving ban would of done fine. Its a silly mistake and obviously people must pay for what they do. Have you never had a crazy moment? I used to drink at his age and would of drove a car for fun...you dont realise that something bad could happen! He is 17 at the end of the day and you dont tend to realise the consequences. I think he was a nice boy the real bad ones are the murderers that are 13, 14,15 and so on. I feel awful for the boy in the accident but dont you think nick does...if i had done that to my best friend i would be distraught, so isnt he? he has to live with this for the rest of his life. Give the boy a break, second chances n all, in god we trust and all that!
    Free nick hogan!!!
  20. I THINK THAT IT SUCKS THAT THE KID WAS ALMOST KILLED FROM CARELESS DESCISIONS, BUT THE PASSENGER NEEDS TO TAKE SOME HEAT ALSO BECAUSE HE WASN'T WEARING A SEATBELT AND WAS WITH NICK ON HIS OWN DESCISION. YES IT WAS TRAGIC AND NICK IS DOING TIME FOR IT. BUT THE PASENGER NEEDS TO TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILTY FOR HIS ACTIONS, EVEN THOUGH HE IS HIS STATE OF HEALTH.
  21. Medical report shows John was wearing a seatbelt, had seatbelt bruising when admitted to the hospital.
Maybe you can blame the city for growing a tree in the median?
  22. i think nicks punishment fits. john should have never got in the car with him, so to me i dont feel sorry for him. he's an adult, he should have known better to get in a car with someone who had been drinkin. dumbass.
  23. if this was my son or yours they would have received years in prison. Linda Hogan states Johns mother is not suffering she is..thats insane. Hulk and Nick plan on turning his release from jail into a promotional just to make $.O.J. and Robert Blake get away with murder. Why are celebrities always given preferential treatment in legal matters in the U.S.?
they are the lowest forms of life. The hogans have no shame
  24. Why would anyone think it was ok to allow a child to drive a car like this. Just don't drive fast?? Would you allow your kid to go to a crack party and think its ok just don't smoke it?? What is wrong with parents. Haven't we seen enough kids turn out to be like this. Why would his father talk to him about a TV show after he gets out? Nick is crying because he has no window? Are you kidding? His parents and him should be thanking GOD its only 8 months. This other kid is a vegetable for life. I would be horified if my son did this. Don't get me wrong he has done stuff where I have had to say I would not defend him. He was not happy and guess what? Never did it again!! I would think this could happen to anyone but if your kids know from a young age you will only love them and stand beside them when they are wrong, you can bet they will think twice before they do something so dumb!
  25. What a loser this nick guy is ... he is more worried about his reality shows after he comes out !!! the new nick ??? what the F**k is that ! If people have self respect, they should not watch any of their shows they are useless people, and frankly a burden to the earth, such people should be punished for a long long time, i dont know why such a small sentence ! After this audio tapes atleast, i would say the case should be reopened and he should get more time for such crap attitude. I would say even if he makes a reality show, no channel should take it .. and even if they take it should not be watched by anyone ! F**king hell to them ! thats my curse
  26. he got off easy & now him & his family are acting like they are the injured party while his so called best friend is layed up in a bed & can't walk & has brain damage! How dare him & his family act like that! Anyone that thinks he is cool is a fool! Anyone that watches that show from this day forward are condoning his & his familys bad behavior! & shame on you also!
  27. I hope they leave him in jail for the full 8 months. The things he has said about his "friend" that is laying in a hospital with part of his brain removed is rediculous. He needs to think about what he did and maybe he is will up. Maybe his family will get their heads out of the clouds and back into reality and see that Nick could have been the one in the hospital and it isn't a joke.
  28. no one wins in this situation. i guess its fair that he serves jail time, sucks hes barely 18 or whatever and already starting out his life with a record serving jail time and almost killing someone.
  29. SPOILED ROTTEN BRAT!!!!! Your sister can't sing either, you both suck. I fell sorry for his friend that he turned into a vegetable.
  30. Its rediculous, If I did this, I'd be put on the death sentance!!!
  31. Well, you know, that kid that was with Nick is someones baby. I can't imagine what his parents felt when they had to hear that their child had been in a car accident. Though it was partly the kids fault for making the choice to get into the car with Nick, I feel like they let people who drink and drive off too freakin easy. However, due to the severity of the kids injuries and Nicks illegal age I believe the punishment is not strong enough for someone his age. I know that if Nicks friend had been my child, no questions asked that douchewad would be dead MFing DEAD! A simple sorry and a slap on the wrist to our precious celebrates. Go Ahead daddy hulk, get your son a Reality show. You can call it "Careless because I Can Afford it with Daddy's big wallet". I'm sure it will be a hit.
  32. This is obviously a case of neglimate parenting!
  33. HEHEHEHE...........Celebrities ! kiss my ass!
  34. nick you had it made for you. why would you do something that would put you in jail...tsk tsk
  35. That is not a good sentence. It is too short really, to be honest. He left his friend brain dead, basically dead. 8 months is like being sentenced for carrying a weapon. That is rediculous

    Its not kool.
  36. Too little time was given specially after hearing the tapes from jail. The Hogan's are definately good actor's but are very discusting in their attitude towards John and his family when Nick was the one who caused the accident. God is love he does not punish anyone. Hulk needs to read the bible. Nick is only 17 and already he has caused a mess. Nick is only thinking about money, what about his injured friend? He has no remorse and the sentence was not just for what he did.
  37. I just can't believe how sad this story is. To think that John will be under constant care for the rest of his life, which is no life. And I have not heard a single "honest" statement of remorse since this has happened from Nick. And now he wants to make a reality show when he's released, in a way to "make the most money". This just makes me sick. I guess when you are in a family that's in entertainment, and you have no talent yourself, you'd do anything. Nick your a very sad individual. His family must be so proud.
  38. I believe he deserves what he gets, same with his dad, they all know drinking and driving is not smart, how stupid do you have to be? He is 17 years old, how dumb are his parents? Alcohol, mixed with a fast car, a straight, wet road, guess what happens? And ya the guy didn't have his seat belt on, so his injuries are worse, but the fact they go around doing this all the time-next time it might be someone walking across the street. This wasn't his first time drinking and driving that the cops know about, so you do the math! He shouldn't get his license back for at least 5 years, with at least 3 months jail time. Thats how it is where I live.
  39. The other kid is responsible for his own injuries since his seatbelt wasn't on, but Nick is still guilty of reckless driving, driving under the influence while under 21 years old, without a fill license etc. it wasn't his first time getting caught drinking and driving and speeding, so he deserves what he gets, there could have been someone on the curb that he hit.
  40. i think the whole situation is sad, nick should be ashamed of himself, his friend is practically dead, and all he cares about is the money!!!
    WHAT A JERK.
this is one thing money can't buy, getting out of jail, he deserves a heck of alot more time then 8 stinking months, sounds so selfish if you ask me!!!
  41. the thing people arn't relaizing is that, the marine had to choice to get out of the car or not even get in. when Nick looked over at the guy in the silver car, the Marine, John, had the choice to get out. some people do stupid things, but john shouldn't have instigated it from the beginning before the race when they were all drinking. Nick is the only on getting charged that we know of, but everyone is feeling sorry for the Marine and i am very sorry for them and him i hope he gets better, but he sould have something penilized aginist him, like drunk in public, or something. And the one in the silver car needs something done to him. and just because nick is famous isn't the reason he's getting off on this case very easy.. and to the guy GREG66, John isn't dead, and probably can get out of the comatose state, he didn't kill anyone. and it's just as much of the Marine's fault as it is Nicks and the Silver car's owner.
  42. I feel really bad for both families. Everyone is real quick to blame Nick for everything...however...I think everyone needs to sit back and realize that Nick wasn't the only one drinking and he isn't the only one to blame on this tragic accident. They both knew what they were doing when they decided to drag race and drink. Both are too blame.
  43. what! that is WAYY too little! If he weren't Hulk Hogan's son, he would get AT LEAST 5 years. He was underage, drinking, and his friend is in a vegatative state. His punishment is way too little. It was like a slap on the wrist, and he deserves to be punished for acting so stupid and for doing what he's done!
  44. nick is crying over 8 months what a f---en p---y!!
if i were the judge i would of given him a harder sentence...send him to prison were the big boys are at
teach him to get behind the wheel drunk..
and the hulk hogan family can go to hell did they not each thiere kids any morals? nick can still hug and kiss his mommy good night what about mrs g? can her son do that? my son has been in and out of prison the last eight years and guess what it breaks my heart everytime but guess what linda i roll with the punches cause i am poor and i dont have the money to pay for a lawyer unlike you.keep teaching your kids how to party and teach them the high life instead of morals ......so stop your bitching hulk family and give the g family a little bit of moral support because of your son the kid is in a coma
wake up and smell the coffee instead of the money.
  45. 8 months is nothing, nick hogan is a punk who needs real jail time for DUI. just because his dad is some knuckle head from TV wrestling should not give him any considerations that would not go to any john q public.

i think he should have done 5 years or more for what has been done to this guy.

but also on the flip side i do not see where the family should be responsible for anything either.

they both made the decision to get in the car and drive drunk. now both are paying for it altho one got off extremly light.
  46. well first of all i have been racing for 8 yrs.... people know how i drive and know the risk when gettin in the car with me and second of all if you are in a car like that wit no seat belt then what happens is your own fault... the whole things sucks, and yeah we all know NICK cant drift and now we know he cant DRIVE worth a crap either... i think he should of gotten 30days jail, 1 year house arrest and 5yrs suspended license... that would of been fair
  47. While this tragedy will haunt Nick the rest of his life, his sentence WAS unfair. Drunk drivers that kill people and destroy families don't end up in jail. While I feel very sorry for John and his family, IF John had been wearing a seat belt, he might have walked away. He has to take some of the blame for what happened.
  48. i think he should stay there the whole time just because he is a son af a famous person doesn't excuse the fact he was drinking illeagly. if that was anybody else no question they would be there the whole sentence. what gives him the right to be special, nothing they ought to make him go over and see him every week an dlook after him for 12 hours aday also. i think it should have been longer. like 2 years or so.and to never drive again.
  49. i think he should stay there the whole time just because he is a son af a famous person doesn't excuse the fact he was drinking illeagly. if that was anybody else no question they would be there the whole sentence. they ought to make him go over and see him every week an dlook after him for 12 hours aday also. i think it should have been longer. like 2 years or so.and to never drive again.
  50. Sad thing is, Nick Hogan probably won't even serve his full 8 months. I think he's getting off pretty easy, considering what he did. Yeah, it was an accident, but when you drive drunk bad things happen.
