All hands on deck! Once again, the MTV News Hip-Hop Brain Trust members are picking, sorting and battling over their choices for the top 10 Hottest MCs in the Game. They are considering everyone who has been active from the time of the highly controversial first “Hottest MCs in the Game” — which published in July of last year — up until now.
The artists are being judged on lyrics, flow, swagger and overall impact. You’ll get to see the Brain Trust go at it again on Friday, May 16, at 10 p.m. ET on MTV, when MTV News Presents the second edition of “The Hottest MCs in the Game.”
Obviously, true hip-hop fans will have more than a mouthful to say after the results are in — but why wait? We’re giving you the chance to have your say right now: While we encourage you to send in your full top 10, right now we want you to participate in this poll and tell us your pick for the #1 Hottest MC in the Game right now.
Please note: This audience poll will have no impact on the Brain Trust’s final top 10, but the results will be included in our coverage.

#2 Immortal Technique-He is number 2 for the simple fact that he is by far the best lyricist in the game. No one can even come close to his level. Internally Bleeding and Industrial Revolution are 2 of my favorites.
#3 Slug (from Atmosphere)-Every rap he spits has meaning. The realness in his words paint a mental picture that stick with you for days. It comes so easy for him and he has a coolness about him that makes it seem like he doesnt care, but the music is his life.

2.Lil Wayne-Personally, I think he is garbage, but everyone from north philly to the suburbs listens to him and his CD, wich will be disappointing, is very anticipated

4.Lupe Fiasco-He has something that Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross and alot of other Mcs dont-back to back great albums. Not to mention his last one sold really well.
5.50 cent-The album was garbage, but it sold. Plus he is killing the mixtapes so you have to give him some props.
6.The Clipse-NOBODY is more lyrical then they are right now. Every f***ing time I hear them they destroy the beat. They got two albums dropping soon and Hell Hath No Fury was the last hip hop classic.
7.The Game-Lax is very anticapted. Cop Killer and Big Dreams are fire.
8.Rick Ross-See 50 cent without the mixtapes
9.Nas-A very anticipated album, plus he is headlining Rock The Bells Tour. Be a n***er too is a great song.
10.Ludacris-He outshined everybody on I'm So Hood remix. The nerd on MTV who said Jeezy has taken the mantle from Luda or whatever, should get his glasses smacked off his face( he also said that Wayne is more creative then Jay so he holds no weight). Theatre of Mind is gonna be fire.

Just 'playas' that have been performing the right moves this year that are deserving to be considered an All-Star. So here's my LINE-UP (not rankings!) and why (hope you know baseball):
1) Lil Wayne - Voted #3/2nd yr. (CF) He hustles and is all over, working with everyone. Makes highlights.
2) Young Jeezy - Voted #8/2nd yr. (2b) Getting hits in all situations. Hardest to strike out this season.

5. Snoop Dogg - Recent album sucked but sold well he is on everything also and still relevant.
6. 50 Cent - An overhyped rapper who is the face of G-Unit and is always is the spot light so i guess its fair enough but he hasn't released a great album.

Now, I really had a hard time with numbers 8 thru 10 bcause of the time they started to get noticed. After T.I.'s arrest, Jay-Z came out and took advantage of the fans with his album, not to mention that it was anticipating due to the name of the album that was also the name of one of the most anticipating movies of 2007 with Denzel Washington. However, T.I., because of him winning Best Album at Hip Hop Awards 2007 and still having hit songs played, he was still appreciated. Now, Ludacris was a big thought in my mind bcause him and Andre 3000 are like coming back strong with verses on remixes and songs. Andre 3000, being experienced in the game and being very lyical, is better than Ludacris; However, two reasons supported Luda into my spot at number 10 instead of 3000. First, Luda may not be better than 3000 lyrically, but Luda is a very lyrical person, and even though they have different lyrical styles, Luda is still dangerous bcause of his great punch-lines, like Weezy. Line after line after line, Luda is constantly killing it. The other reason is this...Luda has currently been on more songs and remixes (including is own song "Down in the Dirty") than 3000, and even though Andre can be on a few songs and KILL that S***, I believe that a few songs is not enough to match Ludacris.
In conclusion, let's not forget we're talking about the hottest MCs in the game right now, and lyrics is the biggest factor of being an MC. The people that have been chosen by ME (F*** the other list) all have great lyrics that can gain a positive feedback for a long time. It can be punchlines or some kind of literary style it can be told from to form great lyrics-taking unexpected things or people, and using them in a form of comparison to make great sense. Soulja Boy did not get on the list because of his lyrics. Wait a minute...he does not have any lyrics. Just a dance routine told in a song or a saying and how and when to say it. 50 is a descent lyricist, but he cannot spit worth a damn when it comes to comparing him to elite MCs like Snoop, Jeezy, or T.I. Whoever dislikes this "long and true" comment, speak now or forever hold your peace.
