Will Obama Help Pay Off Clinton’s $25 Million Campaign Debt?
ObamaClintonDebt

As Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign heads to a seemingly inevitable, tragic conclusion, the talk is turning away from bitter name-calling and toward the fun part: making up! What’s it going to take to bring these two crazy kids together?

On Friday, Barack Obama broached the subject in Oregon: “Historically, after a campaign is done and you want to unify the party, particularly when you’ve had a strong opponent, you want to make sure you’re putting that opponent in a strong position so that they can work to win an election in November. So, obviously, I would want to have a broad range of discussions with Senator Clinton about how I could make her feel good about the process and have her on the team moving forward.”

But what does that mean exactly? Paying off the substantial debt she accrued on the campaign trail? Offering up the VP slot, or some other high-profile cabinet position? Some are even speculating that Clinton wants to become Governor of New York. Regardless of the specific offer, how can Obama make her “feel good” without ticking off his own supporters, who are, shall we say, displeased with Team Clinton these days?

While every pundit has a theory, no one actually knows what will be discussed in a closed-door conversation between the two sparring partners. But one thing is for certain: You don’t come within half a percentage point of your party’s nomination for the presidency without some serious bargaining power. And Hillary doesn’t seem the type to fade away (that’s putting it lightly).

So what’s it going to be, Senators…?

  1. Hmm... I bet all those college folk didn't pony up all their lunch and laundry quarters so Senator Obama could bail out the Clintons!

Think of the the clothes unlaundered!

    The muchies unsated!

    The black light posters unbought!
  2. You're just another clear example of the pathetic, pro-Obama media.
  3. I'm a strong Obama supporter. I've contributed the maximum of $2300 to his primary campaign. I would be deeply offended if Hillary was to get any of my contribution. She has acuqired more than $100 million during the past few years. She can well afford to pay her own debt.
And as for the V.P. spot. Tat's even more horrible!!. She would be constantly upstaging Obama. And there's no way to keep the big dog (Bill) on the porch.
  4. Obama Will be the Dream President of United States Of America only if the Oil companies allow him to work.

    Regards
  5. This article isn't pro-obama, its pro the facts. It's over, deal with it.
  6. toss her under the bus.
  7. I agree with Joe, I've contributed monthly to Obama's campaign based upon the campaign's assertion that they need money to compete with Hillary and McCain. I would be very upset if my money went to pay off Hillary's campaign debt. I am not contributing any money to Obama's campaign untill they can verify that my money won't go toward paying off Hillary's debt, but only toward the fight against McCain -- hope they come out with something soon. That would be so demotivating to contribute money and have it go toward paying off Hillary's badly run campaign.

  9. The object of running is to win. That is what Obama is going to do. We Black people are accustomed with having to pay a higher price for everything that we want. We'll pay Hillary and send her lying arse away.

Just as we built the whips that ripped our backs, we shall pay the bill that Hillary ran up trying to lynch us...that what happens in America, when you're Black. The American people are, by and far, decent. The media, however, needs to be reminded of its superiority to Black folk, having had their arse kicked by Obama along with Hillary.

I say we pay the pitiful sum to this embarassment we call a woman, and move forward, making way for more minority members to be dignified, while more corrupt "inevitable" politicians disappear into infamy, blown away by decency and character.

  10. You pansies will be screaming for Hitlery once the racist Islamofascist HUSSEIN OSAMA gets elected...
  11. Hillary should do the right thing and just concede and throw her support behind Obama for the sake of the party. Her campaign is the one that started the negative campaigning and the personal attacks on Obama. She knew that he was at a disadvantage to respond to her attacks; because even though America has changed considerably, when it comes to perceived matters, we still have a long way to go. He did not want to risk the perception of a Black man beating up on a White woman. I thought he handled himself very well and did not get caught up. He surely could have called it for what it is; that it seems that the entire family has a problem telling the truth. He could have also mentioned that she was unable to handle her own household, but she feels that she can handle the nation. As much as she hase shown that she will go to any length to become president, for him to choose her as a running mate, would not be a good ideal, considering the Vice-President becomes President in the event that something tragic should happen to the President!!
  12. Well, either they are nuts, or I am.
These high class citizens, with lies, false stories and the like of grasses, feed US all as if US all are a bunch of a**es - pardon if someone here get the wrong idea, it is, donkeys- but I am not an a** of them, for I am an elephant. With so many lies, one end up to belief it... but the truth is: In order to keep the world spinning on itself, some other nation has to come to the rescue of some one being treated as slave. See the case of Burma? It is worst than that of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Irak... and all those slave-maker nations. Well, I thought that women were slaves only in those Islamic nations... but I see that women slavery is all over the world; the irony of this issue, all Americans are a lot of a**es (think I am an elephant, not one a** of them), is that one of the highest a**es in the party wanna be president, but a black and white a** is winning the running of a**es to "wanna president to be" Hey! that is not an a**, that is a zebra! open your eyes and take a look! I hope, that the part elephant of US gives a historical lesson to all a**es in US.
Yeah, abandon Irak... yeah, abandon Afghanistan... yeah, abandon fighting around the planet... oh! Wait, wait, wait: do not get surprised when China starts to subtitude the US in the world, how? After they teach the world that they are a super-nation, capable to run a better war than US to seed Communism in other lands... thanks to all those a**es and that zebra.
There still hope my fatal prediction does not happen... but for that, a**es are making sure it will.
    Kill or let them kill.
Do not let the United States of America fall under.
  13. I am a Hillary fan...You know what turned me off about Obama. I am a school teacher and I watched him one night while saying the pledge of allegiance and do you know that he did not have his hand over his heart....THAT IS UNAMERICAN if you ask me....
  14. Is this site controlled by Obama?
I left my opinion here to be seen... was my first opinion, but I see it has not been published... so I question: is this paid by Obama?
  15. I agree USofKKKA.........We are in big time trouble...We thought we had trouble with Bush...You people who are for Obama will see what happens in the end.......At least Hillary is not standing up there lieing to our faces....When she says she will do something, she normally does what she says.
  16. NO! Hillary even now is spending megabucks she has not got to knee-cap Obama. Why should his campaign pay off the debts she has accumulated in smearing him, tearing him down, dividing the nation with her race and gender cards, her sniper fire lies, her insane Lady Macbeth violence?Americans do not reward malicious poltiticians who after all willnot even go on to support him but will do everything to destroy his chances so she can run again in 2012. The super-delegates MUST stop her NOW!
  17. Did SHE not make the CHOICE to get that far into debt!? Is she some kind of a VICTIM of anything other than HER OWN CHOICE!? What IS this ridiculous nonsense!? You can't possibly be SERIOUS, can you?

Oh, you ARE? OK, I got some debts of MY OWN I want someone else to step in and pay off for ME, too!!!

Hey Barack, where do I send in MY bills so you can PAY THEM, TOO?
  18. The Oprah Mentality
Why is the press so biased against Hillary? Who is behind this? What ever happened to unbiased news reporting? Are we so in love with black that we forget to see the man? Obama has a phenomenal criminal background with mob connections and terrorist connections to boot. There is no way a white man, with the same frightful laundry would have ever got this far. Ok, America, you have proved that some of your best friends are black. Clearly we are a ship of fools and the reckless irresponsibility of the stars of the media lacking in a sense of wisdom or intelligence.
  19. Ever notice that when there is an article that paints Hillary in a negative light, the publisher suddenly becomes one of the "biased media outlets"?

There are a couple of facts that no one can dispute. The Clinton campaign is in debt. The Clinton campaign has not paid all of its bills for quite a while.

If you feel that someone that has more money in the bank than 90% of Americans should get help from people that struggle to put gas in their cars, than vote for Hillary.

If you feel that the best way to try to inform the voters of the issues that you believe in, is to begin an attack campaign in attempt to try to put the other candidate on the defense, than vote for Hillary.

If you truly feel that a candidate who spends more than she has bankrolled to defeat an single opponent will be able to balance the complex finances of an entire nation, than vote for Hillary.

I for one will be making the decision of who gets my valuable vote on my observations through this entire nomination process. As of today, Hillary has not shown to me to that she has the qualities that I feel are required to be President. She has shown me that she will not give up, that she will do whatever it takes if she feels that it is the right thing. If only that was enough.
  20. The question for Democrats and others concerned with the Democratic Party primary is then this — do you really want to let the worst-educated, least-knowledgeable and most bigotry-prone components of the voting pool (including those who stubbornly insist that Obama is a Muslim) control the direction of the party to the point of overriding the outcome in pledged delegates? Do you really want to give Hillary Clinton a pass in regards to her ignorantly racist supporters that you would never give to Obama in regards to Rev. Wright? And do you really want to say, as Hillary media proxy Paul Begala did, that a coalition that includes well-educated “eggheads” is somehow a bad thing?

Democrats used to promote education as a virtue to the point even of wanting to overspend government dollars on it at every opportunity. But now a large part of the party obstinately insists that the educated are those that should be sneered at and ignored. In short, they have embraced the anti-intellectualism long present on the far right. And none of Hillary’s supporters seem to mind.

And by the way, how do you explain Senator Obama's double-digit victories in overwhelmingly white states like Iowa (8 points over Clinton), Alaska (51 points), Colorado (34 points), Delaware (11 points), Idaho (62 points), Kansas (48 points), Minnesota (34 points), North Dakota (25 points) and Utah (18 points)?
