Who Will Be Barack Obama’s Running Mate? (You Know, If He’s the Nominee, Etc, Etc)

The Atlantic has published a piece on the people Barack Obama is supposedly considering as running mates. Here, for your consideration, is the short list, in no particular order:

· Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA)

· Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY)

· former Sen. Sam Nunn (D-GA)

· Gov. Tim Kaine (D-VA)

· Ex-Sen. Tom Daschle (D-SD)

· Gov. Bill Richardson (D-NM)

· Ex-Sen. John Edwards (D-NC)

· Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE)

· Gov. Kathleen Sebelius (D-KS)

· Gov. Janet Napolitano (D-AZ)

· Sen. John Biden (D-DE)

· Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA)

· Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT)

· ex-Rep. Tim Roemer (D-IN)

· Gov. Ted Strickland (D-OH)

We’re most intrigued by Jim Webb and the excellent Kathleen Sebelius. And, of course, there’s also still the specter of an Obama/Clinton ticket, right?

So who the heck will it be? Come on, let’s head off to the races, already! This campaign is killing us…

  1. If Obama doesn't pick Hillary, must old Dem's won't vote for him. Hearing this all the time. And the republicans will come in again. He needs her experience, we don't need an intern in the white house.
  2. my second husbun Barack Obama(he doesnt know it yet)should indeed chose Hillary, they'll be unbetable!!!!!!!!!!!! go baby, I mean Barack Obama
  3. Kathleen Gilligan Sebelius:

    1) Female, Catholic, 60 endorsed Obama early.

    2) Educated & Liberal who won re-election as governor in Kansas with 57%

    3) Opposed the war in Iraq from the start

    4) Can campaign in neighboring Colorado, Kansas and small town Ohio and Pennsylvania

    5) Extremely successful in Kansas, reached across party aisles and brought thousands of jobs and balanced budgets. Best executive experience in the country.
  4. He can't pick Hillary. Not only would that lose him his cult followers due to his message of "change" suddenly not being very accurate, but because there's just too much tension, and she would be 'running' against him the entire 4 years, making Democrats look very bad.

It should be either a female or John Edwards. A Female might garnish him the lost feminist votes, and John Edwards is just a good choice.

Personally, I'm thinking Kathleen Sebellus is the best choice (same reasons as Viannis posted), with Edwards getting some other high ranking position in the government and Clinton getting to be Senator of New York.
  5. My Question is; " What has senator Hillary Clinton forgotten in the White House that she desperately wants to retrieve"? Is it worth the damage she is doing to their legacy, her long relationship with African/American, the democratic party, and the country in particular. Must it be her or no one? When God says no, nobody can say yes. After eight years in the WhiteHouse Please give somebody else a chance.

  6. How about John Breaux of Louisiana
