It's no secret that some of us here are big fans of TV on the Radio, and not just because your author of this here post often gets confused for guitarist/vocalist Kyp Malone. They've slowly, steadily grown into one of the most original rock outfits in years — our very own American Radiohead, some might say.
The band are hijacking the airwaves twice in the next few days. First, they're this week's musical guests on "Saturday Night Live," then they'll be guesting on "The Colbert Report" on Monday night, performing their song "Dancing Choose" and, allegedly, getting involved in a skit with Colbert himself.
The TV appearances are a prelude to a second national tour behind their latest LP, Dear Science, that will include the Coachella Festival in April and the Roots Picnic in June. Dates are still being firmed up, according to their camp.
With all the accolades that have been heaped on Dear Science, it's good to see them coming back out in the spotlight. Before that album was released, we visited TV on the Radio out in Brooklyn for an interview and a breakdown of each song on the album — check it out right here.
