It seems that when people reach a certain level of fame, they decide that it’s the right time to either launch a clothing line, launch (or endorse) a liquor line, or launch a record company — some people feel that it’s appropriate to do all three.
Those people include the likes of Diddy, who hawks for Ciroc vodka, Sean John clothing and, of course, Bad Boy Records. Then there’s Jay-Z, whose music has been used to endorse Heineken — he’s also got Rocawear clothing and his record label, StarRoc.
Now, former ‘NSYNC member and hugely successful solo star Justin Timberlake is hopping on the bandwagon. He already has a clothing line under his belt, William Rast, as well as his own record label, Tennman.
So now he’s adding tequila to his résumé. The tequila is called 901, honoring the area code of his hometown, Memphis, Tennessee. “901 is that time of night when your evening is ending, but your night is just beginning,” a statement released to People said.
So, if you’d like to taste some Timberlake tequila, you’ll have to head out to New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas or St. Louis sometime this May. The real question is: Why isn’t he launching it in Memphis too?
