On Monday, MTV News headed into the winding hills of Calabasas, California, to producer Rob Cavallo's palatial estate (seriously, he's got a regulation basketball hoop and a soft-serve machine in the garage), where Paramore are hard at work on their new album.

At first, it seemed like a rather odd place — a suburb in the middle of nowhere — for a platinum-plus rock act to be hammering away on their new album, but it seems like the surroundings have only brought out the best in the guys (and gal), judging from their sunny demeanors, lack of haggard studio beards, and, well the six brand-new songs we heard.

And while we can't say anything about the new tunes just yet (but know that they do, in fact, rock pretty hard), we do have one rather HUGE bit of news that we can break to you: a release date for the record!

When? Well, read on to find out!

I'm quick to pat myself on the back. Each of the new MCs I said that you guys should watch out for in 2009 have been carving their own lane in hip-hop. Sure, two of them almost retired, Asher Roth put his foot in his mouth and Charles Hamilton is kinda eccentric, but they're all on their way to becoming household names.

Wale is working with just about everybody considered good in music, from Lady Gaga to TV on the Radio, Asher released a solid debut album, and Kid Cudi is releasing phenomenal music. While I hate to say it — and stop patting myself on the back — I definitely missed the brightest star of the bunch.

Drake's buzz had been building on the Internet for a while, but I honestly wasn't that big a fan of his singing and rapping. But the more I hear his mixtape, So Far Gone — and the fact that DJs play a selection of Drake songs every hour here in New York — the more I find myself singing along.

Beyoncé's thriller "Obsessed" took over the box office this weekend, raking in $28.5 million and landing at #1. And while she knocked Zac Efron's "17 Again" to #2, co-star Ali Larter told MTV News just how bruised they got while filming fight scenes.

Rihanna has asked the police to return the jewelry she was wearing from the night of her alleged altercation with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. Her lawyer filed the request to LAPD for the return of nearly $1.4 million in jewelry that was loaned to the singer.

"Hills" stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt got married this weekend! Find out what Spencer's sister Stephanie thinks about their future and possible baby plans.

Mixtape Monday features Juelz Santana and the debut of his group the Skull Gang, whose LP drops in a few weeks. Don't mistake them for the Diplomats, though. Juelz's Gang will join Jim Jones' Byrd Gang and Freekey Zekey's 730 Dips onstage for Hot 97's Summer Jam concert.

"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" premieres Friday, but lucky fans in Tempe, Arizona, who won a nationwide contest get a special screening tonight! They will also host "Wolverine" star, Hugh Jackman, who plans to bring a few special guests.

In case you were living under a rock, I'd like to update you on the big happening this past weekend — the couple you all love to hate, Speidi, got married!

Yes, Spencer's sister Stephanie said the wedding was amazing, but those of us not lucky enough to snag an invitation were only privy to a few shots of the couple and the media frenzy outside. We have to watch “The Hills” to see Spencer and Heidi finally get hitched and catch a glimpse of the guest list. (What were their vows? Who from "Laguna Beach" made an appearance? Did Stacie the bartender show up? Oh, the intrigue!)

Sure, Heidi and Spencer are no Princess Diana and Prince Charles, but I'm still going to argue that when "The Hills" airs the episode showing their nuptials, it's going to be a huge television event. From all of the paparazzi surrounding the church last Saturday, you'd think it was the only newsworthy event that happened this past weekend. Swine flu? What?

As I wait with bated breath to watch Speidi tie the knot onscreen, I wonder if their wedding could rival my list of top five television weddings. You be the judge!

Zack and Kelly ("Saved by the Bell") - They were the "it" couple of Bayside High. We watched Kelly choose Zack over Slater and then develop a crush on that older dude Jeff who worked at The Max, causing the breakup that became the talk of the school cafeteria Monday morning. We saw them get back together, break up and go to Hawaii. Then Kelly disappeared for a few episodes and Zack dated leather-jacket-wearing Tori (Boo!). They graduated and some members of the gang went off to college, which prompted some of the most boring episodes ever until Kelly made her triumphant return! She dated her professor until Zack finally proclaimed his never-ending love for her as he jumped out of an airplane! Then came the two-hour television movie (which probably could have been kept to an hour), "Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas." Fans were glued to TV screens as the couple that ruled the school finally made their relationship official, and teen girls everywhere hoped they could find a Zack Morris to call their own.

University of Southern California's
Mark Sanchez was the New York Jets' first-round draft pick (and fifth overall) in last weekend's NFL draft, and already the frenzy about his future has begun.

The USC star has Hollywood looks, so they're saying he's a marketing team's dream — but don't sleep on what's inside his dome piece. Sanchez is a graduating senior at USC, and it turns out he's pretty sharp when it comes to his music. Here's what he told us recently about some of his favorites:

"Growing up, my brothers really got into the Dave Matthews Band when they went to college, so I love them and the Counting Crows," he said. "I listen to a lot of stuff from the guys on my team, from Lil Wayne to Jay-Z. Snoop Dogg is a huge USC fan, so he's been around campus. I'm a fan of his — he does everything, it's hard not to like him.

"Taylor Swift, I got a chance to meet her and she was cool, so I keep tabs on her," he continued. "She's pretty awesome. I went to a Rascal Flatts concert and didn't know much about them, but they were some cool guys. They're huge Ohio State fans, so they were bummed. [He laughs.] I like the Killers a lot, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I like oldies, too, because my mom and dad used to listen to music a lot in the car. I try to be well versed in music."

When most people lighten their hair, it doesn't make headlines. But when you're Kim Kardashian, going blond is a big deal. The notoriously brunette reality star showed off her lighter locks this weekend and even took to her Twitter page to celebrate the new look.

"I'm loving my new blond hair!" she Tweeted on Sunday. But just when we thought Kardashian had gone all Lindsay Lohan on us and abandoned her trademark hair color to have more fun as a blonde, it turned out the transformation was just a farce.

Yes, Kim's new do was just a wig, and she cleared up all the speculation this morning on her blog.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt got married (finally? again?) on Saturday. Stephanie Pratt gave us exclusive details about it on Saturday night, saying the ceremony was "amazing." Diamonds has a way of making things more amazing, I suppose.

The most important thing is that they looked elated. And, despite the drama that's transpired on "The Hills" over the past few seasons, they seemed truly in love with each other and ecstatic to be tying the knot.

Check out photos of the new Mr. and Mrs. Pratt (below) from the ceremony and reception in Pasadena, California.

Regardless of how long this marriage lasts — and it seems there are lots of predictions out there — for at least one day they looked pretty perfect together.

When it comes to image and musical style, Britney Spears and Marilyn Manson are on opposite ends of the spectrum. One is a pop princess who made her mark as a dancing schoolgirl in " ... Baby One More Time," while the other is a shock rocker who wears makeup and creepy contact lenses.

A duet from these two would be odd and unlikely (which makes it genius!), but thanks to the Circus tour, Brit's fans got pretty close to a Manson/Spears collaboration. During the concert, a video pops up on the jumbo screen of Miss Spears gyrating on a set of couches with masked men and women caressing her as she sings along to Manson's cover of the Eurythmics classic "Sweet Dreams." The dark rocker can't be seen in the video, but his voice and aesthetic influence are recognizable.

Some of Manson's videos can make Spears' younger supporters a little scared (remember the video for "Beautiful People"?!), which begs the question: Do the screaming fans in Spears' concerts even know who Marilyn Manson is and that he's the artist singing in the background?

To my surprise, many of the fans we spoke to at Brit's Pittsburgh concert knew all about Manson and his "Sweet Dreams" rendition. They were even stoked that their favorite pop star was incorporating it into her act.

From FoxNews.com: Once again, President Barack Obama’s campaign promises and statements about “changing Washington” have come back to haunt him. The young, vibrant candidate who stole Iowa from Hillary and took the presidency by storm with exclamations of “hope” and “Yes We Can”s is now in the hot seat and realizing that revamping a centuries-old system is not as easy as winning an election. Another Britney Spears concert, another YouTube moment. We've already seen her enthusiastically greet a crowd in San Jose, California, with, "What's up Sacramentoooo!," delay another concert because it was too smoky in the arena, and get caught saying embarrassing things about her lady parts on a live mic.

On Wednesday night in Oakland, California, the
Circus tour magic continued. During one song, Spears was splayed out on a chaise lounge when one of her leather-clad dancers, suspended by wires, was lowered down to pick her up for a mid-air snuggle. Only problem was that some of her hair extensions were stuck to the chair and were ripped out as Spears was lifted into the air. Had to be painful, but Britney nonetheless spun through the air with her mohawked dancer before being gently returned to Earth.

Tonight the Circus tour lands in Glendale, Arizona. No word yet if the missing extensions also made the trip.
