Jimmy Fallon is having a pretty stellar week. On Monday night's episode of "Late Night," Fallon and his team somehow convinced Mark-Paul Gosselaar to appear as Zack Morris for an entire interview in which he swore he actually was his preppy character from "Saved by the Bell."
Last night, Fallon's show managed to create an image almost as startling as Zack/Mark in stone-washed jeans chatting with "Jessie Spano" on a cell phone as big as his head: Betty White of "Golden Girls" fame stopped by the "Late Night" set to play a game of beer pong with the host.
Beer pong has become something of a tradition for Fallon, who has faced off — and lost — against tennis stars Anna Kournikova and Serena Williams. White may never have learned the game in a frat house basement or on the professional tennis circuit, but she was keen to give the booze-chugging contest a go.
"If I'm very, very good, we can carry him out!" she said, promising to take "no pity" on the host who declared he plays for blood.
Sadly, she wasn't very good. While Betty sunk the first shot, Fallon came back and nailed the next two. If you've never seen an 82-year-old woman swill a plastic cup of beer, now is your chance. Somehow remaining classy with foam dribbling down her chin, White kept tossing ping pong balls across the table. When Fallon won, he looked almost apologetic, as if he'd pushed a little old lady into traffic.
She took defeat in stride, though. As Fallon said as he finished off his guest's last beer, "Here's to Betty White — the greatest person in the world!"
