"I had been to his place in Neverland. He wanted to do 'Spider-Man.' I'm not sure whether he just wanted to produce it or wanted to play the role ... Our conversation never got that far along."
-Comic book legend Stan Lee, speaking about his relationship with Michael Jackson at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con. While with Marvel Comics, Lee co-created some of the most iconic super heroes in history, including the aforementioned Peter Parker, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man and the Hulk. Lee met Jackson several times over the course of his life — in fact, there was talk of Jackson and Lee going into business together and purchasing Marvel Comics when the company declared bankruptcy in the '90s. Jackson also had an extensive comic book collection. Of course, the "Spider-Man" films ended up being produced by Marvel's film arm and starred Tobey Maguire as the titular web-crawler.
