CHICAGO -- "We don't give a f--k that it's rainin' ... Do you? Throw one hand in the air right now!"
That's how Knux MC Krispy Kream opened up the very wet, high energy set during day one of Lollapalooza 2009. Though the rain came down in sheets, the crowd didn't seem to mind one bit.
The Knux sound is an odd blend of rock, hip-hop, club music with a punk vibe and attitude. It's a blend that doesn't sound like it would make much sense, but a common thread throughout the mix of styles is a party-like energy and sing-along hooks that definitely primed the drenched crowd for three days of incredible music.
The Knux, aside from their unique sound have an equally perplexing lineup - an MC, an electric guitar playing MC, a synth player and a DJ. Somehow they manage to rock without a drummer - I'm still trying to figure that one out.
The Knux put on an original, crowd-moving show, in the true spirit of Lollapalooza - check out some photos from the set after the jump.
