Spotted: Lady Gaga Makes Nice With The Queen

Every day a multitude of stars wanders through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that’s why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

You can’t see her, but that’s Queen Elizabeth II, the high monarch of the United Kingdom, on the left in that photo. On the right? That’s Lady Gaga, dressed as some kind of super hero with Twizzler-based powers. Gaga visited the Queen in Blackpool yesterday as part of the Royal Variety Performance, a concert that also featured Miley Cyrus and Michael Bublé. The Gaga performance was the centerpiece of the show, as she played a piano that was suspended in mid-air while singing “Speechless,” a new song from her just-released EP The Fame Monster. In a nod to John Lennon, she told the attendees, “Let me hear you rattle your jewelry!” (Lennon said the same line during a Beatles show in 1963.)

Gaga wasn’t the only star out and about last night. As previously reported, Rihanna attended last night’s Knicks game at New York’s Madison Square Garden and R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe showed up to the premiere of Terry Gilliam’s new film “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.” Click here for these photos plus the entire “Spotted!” archive, which features nearly 300 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Madonna, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, the Jonas Brothers, Beyoncé, Adam Lambert, Rihanna, Jay-Z and Taylor Swift!
