Taylor Swift has moved millions of albums, sold out giant venues around the world and a won just about every award possible for a musician. But as many fans before her have proven, it takes more than just songs to fully cement oneself as a true international superstar. Though Swift has dabbled in clothing (she endorses L.E.I. jeans) and does advertisements for the Nashville Predators NHL team, she hasn’t diversified very much yet.
She is dipping her toes in the pool, though, with a new line of greeting cards from American Greetings. They won’t be in stores for a few months, but there are a handful of images that have made their way online as part of a preview.
The cards include a few in the birthday category (one with adorable puppies, others with cute children) along with what is by far the best of the bunch: An inspirational card that features a kitten sitting in a dog food bowl that reads, “Rebellion is what you make it.”
According to a press release from American Greetings, Swift has been very hands-on with the design of the cards. “My idea of a great song is a song that says how I feel better than I could,” she says. “I feel the same way about greeting cards. I’ve always been fascinated by feelings and how we express them to each other. Getting to write and design these cards is a wonderful experience.”
Will the greeting cards give her the edge in her quest to conquer 2010? Between these and “Valentine’s Day,” she has the early advantage among most every other star out there.
