If you're looking for Paramore over the next few weeks, you'll have to look east, as the band is currently making its way through Japan and other points in the Pacific in support of Brand New Eyes. There will be one unfamiliar face in the lineup, however, as lead guitarist Josh Farro has stayed behind to plan his upcoming wedding. Paramore like to keep it in the family, though, so he's being replaced in Japan by Justin York, brother of rhythm guitarist Taylor York.
Singer Hayley Williams has been letting fans know the status of the tour via her Twitter. After watching Sunday night's Super Bowl, Williams stayed up late to pack for the two week run through the Land of the Rising Sun. Part of her packing included a sweater of hers that just got a remix. "My favorite cardigan, re-vamped," she wrote, including a picture of a leopard-print sweater with a giant photo of hardcore legends H2O in action on the back. "I'm ready for the road!"
Clearly the packing all-nighter wasn't hyperbole, as three tweets in a row mentioned how tired she was. After a long flight, the band touched down in Osaka and found their way into the city. "Got hungry ... so naturally, being in Japan and all, we went to McDonald's," she wrote, poking fun at her own travel sensibilities.
Between the lack of sleep before the trip, the huge time difference and the inevitable jet lag, Williams went on a quest to grab some shut-eye. Her first enemy? The hotel staff. "Housekeeping dude, you better not come to my door at this time of night," she wrote. "I hear you creepin' around, doing that key-card door tap. Naw dude." A few hours later, she simply checked out with the message "Do not disturb."
They start tomorrow at Osaka's Imp Hall, then move on to Tokyo, Nagoya, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the Philippines. They'll be back in about a month and will have about eight weeks off until the next leg of their North American tour starts in Knoxville at the end of April.
