This week, 311 celebrated their fans and their music during a three day festival called 311 Day. We sent two 311 superfans to give us the diehard's perspective about the show, the crowds and the vibe of the greatest 72 hours in 311 history.

True to tradition, 311 Day 2010 was yet another epic concert experience. There truly might not be words adequate to describe the incredible energy of the band and the fans feeding off each other, as well as the beauty of 311's music. Outside the venue, excited fans chanted "Three! One! One! Three! One! One!" The excitement was palpable.
From the second 311 took the stage to the very final bow after the show, the energy in the building was amazing. When SA Martinez predicted that on a scale of one to 10, this show would be a 20, he was not overshooting. Fans danced and stayed on their feet rocking out for just over five hours (a total of 60 songs were brought out — a true marathon) as 311 continued to surprise the crowd. In addition to all the hits, they sprinkled rare and older gems into the mix, and there were also unbelievable showcases for each band member's particular talent. The stage setup was amazing, with drummer Chad Sexton's drum kit on a 360 degree rotating riser and huge HD screens playing the simultaneous webcast footage.
The guys running the soundboard were on point and each member of 311 shined on his own, yet the cohesion was absolutely impeccable. Without a doubt, it was the most amazing show I have ever seen in my life (and I have seen a lot of great 311 shows, so that is saying a lot). It warmed my heart to hear Nick talk about fan appreciation and thank us for our support over the years. I hope they realize how much we love them and the music they create. Many friendships and great things have come from 311 Days and 311's music in general. 311 fans are the best group of people in the world, and I absolutely love everyone I have met through my 311-related travels.
This 311 Day was better than what could have ever been imagined. They will have a hard time topping this in 2012, and I am already looking forward to it! On Friday (March 12), the Wailers are playing a show to round out the festivities. It's going to be a wonderful end to the 311 Day experience. See you at the pool party!
