"I think it came across like we were just having a good time onstage, like, just playing dress-up. And I was kind of making an ass of myself at the end, but whatever. I was having a good time. I hope it was infectious."
-Chart-topping pop star Ke$ha, talking about her performance on Wednesday night's (March 17) episode of "American Idol." The "Tik Tok" singer took the stage with 3OH!3 to perform their hit "Blah Blah Blah" that featured dancers wearing monitors on their heads and at least one freaky Native American headdress. She takes pride in her ability to deliver on a big stage. "I just want to inspire people to have a good time, and I feel like if I'm being irreverent, it inspires people to have the freedom to be themselves," she told MTV News' Jocelyn Vena via telephone on Thursday (March 18) afternoon. "David Byrne said, 'Everything onstage needs to be much bigger.' Maybe I wouldn't be wearing an armored bustier just on the street, but on the stage, I wanted to look like a warrior for irreverence and dance commander."
David Cook and Orianthi also performed on Wednesday night's elimination episode, which saw Lacey Brown get dismissed. That's lucky for Ke$ha, as she is rooting for somebody else. "I don't know anybody's names but the blond dude that I'm rooting for," she said of Casey James. "I also thought that [Lacey Brown] was pretty while singing, which I haven't figured out — how to look cool while singing. But she looked pretty while singing. I was impressed."
