On Thursday (April 8), the big news finally came down that MTV's hit show "Jersey Shore" will in fact be coming back to its home in Seaside Heights after a brief sojourn to Miami in the second season. Snooki, the Situation, DJ Pauly D and the rest of the crew will be back on television screens on July 29 for more tanning, laundry and waving their arms to house music.
It will also give the cast a second round of exposure and the chance to stretch their wings. Last time around, we saw them parody themselves in a great Funny or Die video and appear on a variety of late night shows. The latest project comes from the Situation, who appears in an advertisement for Vitamin Water alongside New York Mets third baseman David Wright. In the clip, Wright tells reporters he has been doing "situational" workouts, which then leads to a great montage (set to the theme from "Rocky") that shows Wright and Sitch exercising together and dumping Vitamin Water on their heads. In the clip's key scene, Wright swings a baseball bat at the Situation's abs as the "Jersey Shore" star makes plans with some ladies.
It's further proof that the Situation may be one of the funniest dudes in the history of reality TV. But he should be warned, as Mets fans are a superstitious bunch, and if Wright doesn't hit more home runs this season (he only mashed 10 taters in 2009), then Sitch could be swept up in the blame game. Still, the training montages do prove one thing: The Situation really should be on the just-premiered new season of "The Challenge: Fresh Meat II." Maybe next year.
