Tennessee pop punk juggernaut Paramore just celebrated at the wedding of guitarist Josh Farro and are gearing up for another big tour that kicks off on April 26 at the Knoxville Coliseum. Since the band has had a bit of down time, that has given frontwoman Hayley Williams the opportunity to indulge in some of her favorite activities, take a few road trips and try a beverage or two.
Of course, Williams has been tweeting the whole way. Her Twitter feed has evolved into an absolute must-read, as she mixes together her personal reviews of things, band news and inside jokes with her followers incredibly seamlessly. Lately, she's especially excited about the song "Airplanes," an awesome new track by B.o.B that features Williams singing the chorus, "Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?/ I could really use a wish right now."
"Thanks to all my friends who keep tweeting about 'Airplanes,'" she wrote a few days ago. "So stoked!" Later, she alerted everybody to the fact that "Airplanes" was available for download on iTunes (though B.o.B's album The Adventures of Bobby Ray isn't out until April 27).
Hyping up her hip-hop dalliance hasn't stopped her from talking about plenty of other topics on Twitter. On Monday (April 12), she had an interesting evening with beverages. "Pickle juice, I will drink you from the jar," she wrote. "Say I won't." A few hours later, she actually indulged in everyone's favorite anti-energy drink. "Drank a Drank and it made me sleepy," she noted, talking about the purple canned beverage that invites you to "Slow Your Roll." "That stuff works," she added.
While in the past she has spent her down time watching movies and following the UFC, it seems like she has been on the road and out at shows an awful lot during this particular break. "Hi. I'm at a show. In the middle of the crowd. D-bag next to me," she wrote last week. It turns out that she was seeing Copeland, one of her favorite bands who is currently on a career-ending farewell tour. "Hard to believe I just saw Copeland for the last time," she wrote once the show had ended. "Do you know how many of their shows I've seen? It's ridiculous. Love them." She also caught unsigned Nashville hardcore band Modernhell, which made her nostalgic for the early days of her own band. "Just saw Modernhell play at The End," she wrote. "First venue we ever played. Got emo. Not!"
Once the band is back on the road at the end of April, they'll spend a month criss-crossing North America (including a headlining slot at this year's Bamboozle on May 1). They'll enjoy another short break before they head to Europe for some summer festivals and an opening gig for Green Day in Paris. Of course, starting in July they'll be headlining the Honda Civic Tour with Tegan and Sara and New Found Glory.
