Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
Even though most of the viewing audience is concentrating on the season finales of their favorite shows (including "Lost," "The Celebrity Apprentice," "The Office" and "30 Rock"), the TV world is already thinking about next season. Hence the tradition of "upfronts," where networks trot out news on all of their biggest hits and new pick-ups. Usually reserved to build network buzz, this year's most-talked about upfront was definitely Wednesday's (May 19) get-together for Turner Entertainment in New York. Both TNT and TBS — the pair of cable stations under the Turner umbrella — rolled out news on their new shows, but the highlight was most certainly the appearance by Conan O'Brien. His new talk show has a premiere date (November 8), and the party gave him the opportunity to rub elbows with the likes of George Lopez, Ray Romano, Kyra Sedgwick and Will Smith (who was there supporting his wife Jada Pinkett and her TNT show "Hawthorne"). Sadly, Smith didn't freestyle over O'Brien's song, which he performed later during the presentation.
They weren't the only stars hanging out on Wednesday, as John Legend performed at Cherry Lane Publishing's 50th Anniversary party in New York and a multitude of people (including Tom Cruise, Flea and Kim Kardashian) watched the Lakers beat the Phoenix Suns at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Click here for these photos as well as the rest of the "Spotted!" archive, which features over 350 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Jessica Simpson, Katy Perry, 50 Cent, Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert!
