Kanye West’s Best Tweets Of All Time (Or The Last 72 Hours)

July 28, 2010 is a date that will undoubtedly live forever in Internet lore. Because on that date — at precisely 11:17 am ET — Kanye West joined Twitter.

At first glance, it doesn’t seem like that significant of an event. I mean, millions of people join Twitter each day. But rarely do they achieve this level of artistry. In the 70-odd hours since West first entered the world of 140 characters (or less), he has not only raised the bar against which all tweets shall be measured, he’s set it so impossibly high that no one will ever beat him. West doesn’t so much tweet as expound, doling out priceless dollops of lifestyle advice, deep thoughts and photos of gilded dinnerware. With each successive post (and there are a lot of them), he teaches us to be better, to strive for greatness, to live beyond our wildest dreams.

Clearly, we are witnessing greatness here.

And so, in celebration of West’s achievements, I’ve compiled a list of his 10 greatest tweets. Surely, this list will change (unless, like 98 percent of us, he gets bored with Twitter and stops updating next week), but for the time being, consider it a snapshot of the moment when Yeezy changed the world. Here’s our humble homage to a man who not only reaches for the stars, but stoops down to bring the rest of us along with him. Pay close attention. You might just learn something.
