The list of performers who will be taking the stage at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards continues to grow. Kanye West, Eminem, B.o.B, Drake, Florence and the Machine and Justin Bieber will all be there playing some of their biggest hits from the past year and newest jams that you soon won't be able to get out of your head. Two more gigantic names joined the fray on Thursday (August 26), as both Usher and Paramore signed on to play the show.
It's sort of old hat for Paramore, as the band made their first appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2008 (the last time the show was in Los Angeles). They rocked their way through "Misery Business" in one of the show's highlights. At the 2009 show, they didn't play but were present at the festivities (singer Hayley Williams famously tweeted about being "#TeamTaylor" after Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for Best Female Video). With three big appearances in a row (as well as three straight years with nominations), Paramore are well on their way to becoming VMA staples.
But the big question is this: Which song should the band play when the curtain rises on their performance on Sunday, September 12? Their 2009 album Brand New Eyes has offered up a cornucopia of riches as far as options go. "Ignorance" would make sense because it is the song that has been nominated, but "Brick by Boring Brick," "The Only Exception" and "Careful" are all live highlights and would sound amazing on the VMA stage. Paramore are also about to release another Brand New Eyes single in "Playing God," so perhaps they'll use the VMA stage to unleash it on a huge audience.
We will leave it up to you. Vote in the poll below and leave your thoughts in the comments!
The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on September 12 at 9 p.m. ET.
