What do Justin Bieber and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino have in common?

An unadulterated hatred for an expansive vocabulary. And I'm right there with them. I mean, why use so many different words when you can express yourself with just one?

For Biebs, it's about smiling and for The Situation, it's about, well, the situation.

As a loyal Twitter follower of both Biebs and Situation, their love for these words has rubbed off on me. So much so that it's even infiltrated my daily life.

Take, for example, this snippet from a recent email to a love interest of mine

"Because when you smile, I smile, we smile. Are you still smiling? Because I'm still smiling. So if you're still smiling, that means we're smiling. That makes me smile. And when I smile, you smile."

And this snippet from an email to a former love interest:

"Situationally speaking, there's a situation in situation nation because when you mess with The Situation, then I've got a situation with that situation. And that's the situation."

See? Using just one word to express your every thought is mesmerizing, repetitive, mesmerizing, slightly addictive and mesmerizing. And we all know what that spells, right? A smash hit!

We've seen it before. Remember Freak Nasty's "Da Dip"? It featured 62 mentions of the word "dip." Remember R. Kelly's unforgettable "Trapped in the Closet"? It featured 17 mentions of the word "closet."

When something works, you go with it and that's why I recommend that Justin Bieber's next huge collabo be with The Situation. We already know The Situation can rap and we definitely know Bieber likes collaborating with rappers. So why not combine forces, double their lyrical capabilities and create a situation the whole world can smile about (especially those with limited grasps of the English language)?

What do you think about a potential Situation/Bieber collabo? What would their song be called? Share your thoughts in the comments!

At this point it just feels like Justin Timberlake is teasing us. Following up on the "SNL" skit last weekend, in which he refused to answer questions about when he's going to make another album, Timberlake dropped by Jimmy Fallon's "Late Night" on Wednesday night to talk up "The Social Network" and ended up providing further proof that one of the great music talents of our time is seriously holding out on us.

After Timberlake gave major props to house band the Roots and Fallon teased the bespectacled singer about his historical knowledge of hip-hop, Justin mentioned that 'NSYNC once asked legendary hip-hop crew the Sugarhill Gang to open up one of the boy band's shows back in the day. That inspired Fallon to ask the band (spontaneously, of course) to serve up a taste of Sugarhill's classic "Rapper's Delight."

What ensued was a head-spinning blue-eyed ramble through rap history, as Fallon and Timberlake hopped out of their seats and started trading lines on "Delight" like a suburban basement Run-DMC. Speaking of DMC, they moved into a few lines from that Rock and Roll Hall of fame group's "Peter Piper," easily segueing into a nasally take on the Beastie Boys' "Paul Revere," Digital Underground's "Humpty Dance," Snoop Dogg's "Nuthin' But a G Thang" and Tupac's "California Love."

Then it was back to the East Coast for Notorious B.I.G.'s "Juicy," the Roots' "The Seed 2.0," Eminem's "My Name Is" and Missy Elliott's "Work It." They also threw in snippets of songs by A Tribe Called Quest, T.I. and Rihanna, Kanye West and Soulja Boy, ending with Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" as they wandered out into the arm-waving audience. Exhausted, the duo brought it ball back with one more out-of-breath half verse of "Rapper's Delight," setting off yet another instant viral hit from the Fallon studios.

And making us all wonder anew, seriously Justin, when are you going to make another album?

Last week, Linkin Park reclaimed its place at the top of the Billboard album chart with the debut of A Thousand Suns. Their reign at the top of the sales world ended after one week, however, as the album made way for a number of high-profile albums that dropped last Tuesday. Did Selena Gomez and the Scene come out the big winner, or would Maroon 5 take the crown away from the men in LP?

In the end, the top spot went to the Zac Brown Band, who sold over 153,000 copies of their new album You Get What You Give (Maroon 5 finished a close second, while Gomez clocked in at number four). When You Get What You Give showed up on our copies of the chart this morning, more than a handful of the residents of the MTV Newsroom had a flashback to one of the greatest one-hit wonders of all time: New Radicals' "You Get What You Give."

New Radicals are often forgotten about for a number of reasons, including the general gimmickry of their hit single (frontman and mastermind Gregg Alexander threatens Courtney Love and Hanson in the lyrics) and the fact that they never released a second album. But the album in question, 1998's Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too, is the absolute pinnacle of late '90s pop. It's full of post-modern humor, pop culture references, undeniable hooks and just enough swooning to make the whole thing seem legit. Sure, a song called "Jehovah Made This Whole Joint For You" was never going to have the chance to be a big smash, but that doesn't mean it doesn't rule.

So close out your humpday with the video for New Radicals' "You Get What You Give," which contains an awesomely adolescent fantasy about partying in a mall.

"I felt like performing VMAs was the best way to go out there and sing how I was actually feeling. Being there really helped put all that behind me. There's nothing that hard about [being famous]. It's not that tough. I'm not complaining."

-Crossover country-pop superstar Taylor Swift, talking about her powerful and much-talked-about performance at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. Swift took the stage at the VMAs in Los Angeles for a run through a new song called "Innocent" that inspired a great deal of chatter online about its lyrics and focus, with most people agreeing that the tune appeared to be about Kanye West.

"Innocent" will be appearing on Swift's soon-to-be-released new album Speak Now, which contains 14 new songs, each of which is about a different person in Swift's life. It's a bold move in a more deeply personal direction for Swift, but she feels extremely good about the new songs. "I've written all the songs on it about things that have happened over the last two years, and a lot has happened over the last two years. It's been every eventful, a lot of adventures and misadventures," Swift told Fox News. "I have a lot of fun doing this and getting to write songs about what happens in my life, but putting it all out there in your music — all the details — you're taking a chance with that because you are very vulnerable."

Speak Now will be available worldwide on October 25, with pre-orders (including for the deluxe edition, which features three extra tracks, a trio of remixes and a load of video content) available right now.

It's almost like all that Britney Spears stuff didn't go down on Tuesday night's episode of "Glee." As soon as Rachel (Lea Michele) belted out her rendition of Paramore's super awesome tune "The Only Exception," everybody seemed to immediately gravitate toward that unexpected surprise. It was kind of a mindblow after fans sat around for the previous 55 minutes or so completely submerged in all things Britney Spears.

But despite the excellence of "The Only Exception" (and Michele's lovely rendition of it), there were plenty of Britney tunes that could have very easily helped Rachel express her feelings to Finn (Cory Monteith). Here are a few choice Britney tunes that are both adult contemporary-ish (as Mr. Scheuster wanted all along) and emotional.

Much like Rachel, Britney needed her man to give her some emotional support and to verify that he does indeed care for her in "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know." In the end, Finn's actions spoke louder than his words, but Rachel was sort of the last to know.

Britney's completely heartfelt, Justin Timberlake-inspired ballad "Everytime" really would have ended the episode perfectly. On that In the Zone track, Brit Brit sings: "Everytime I try to fly, I fall/ Without my wings, I feel so small/ I guess I need you, baby/ And every time I see you in my dreams/ I see your face, it's haunting me/ I guess I need you, baby." Need we say more?

It's not about the love of a boy, but really about learning to love yourself and your missteps growing up. Really, the Finn/Rachel relationship is nothing more than two kids not knowing what they are doing. Or, as Britney would say it" Rachel is "[I'm] Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman."

And really, who needs adult contemporary ballad mumbo-jumbo when she could have just proclaimed her love with the ultra-sexy "Boys"? Why? Because sometimes a girl just needs one. And really Rachel needs Finn.

Which Britney Spears song would you have liked to hear from Rachel at the end of "Glee"? Let us know in the comments!

The greatness of Lil Wayne's I Am Not a Human Being is still being felt deeply both in the hip-hop community and the MTV Newsroom. Though it's still too early to make predictions, I Am Not a Human Being remains the top-selling album on iTunes and should make in impression in next week's album chart. That's a pretty remarkable feat considering that the artist is currently incarcerated. It's a testament to how devoted Weezy's fan base is (though his blogs and phone calls from jail haven't hurt).

But considering it's only available as a digital release at the moment (the physical album hits brick-and-mortar store shelves on October 12), it will probably be an uphill battle to the top of the chart. Should Wayne figure out a way to the pinnacle of the Billboard 200, he would join Tupac as the only artists who topped the album chart while incarcerated. Tupac's 1995 smash Me Against the World was recorded in the weeks leading up to the beginning of his sentence stemming from a sexual assault conviction and spent five weeks at the top of the chart (mostly on the strength of the single "Dear Mama," an homage to his mother Afeni Shakur — who has had a history of her own legal trouble).

Who else has released top-shelf work while serving as a guest of the government? In addition to Wayne and Tupac, here are the best ones.

Shyne, Godfather Buried Alive
Sent to prison for a decade for assault, reckless endangerment and weapons possession, Shyne's promising rap career was derailed before it could really get started. But that didn't stop him from releasing Godfather Buried Alive in 2004. Composed mostly of vocals recorded before his incarceration (plus one fresh rap courtesy of the prison phone), Godfather Buried Alive is a surprisingly strong album notable for its to-shelf production (care of Kanye West, Just Blaze and Swizz Beatz) and Shyne's signature basso profundo.

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

After spending time working on other people's music (including a titillating D'Angelo project that will hopefully see the light of day next year), Mark Ronson is back with a new band (called the Business Intl), a new album (the just-released Record Collection) and a new shade to his hair (shiny, shiny silver). He gathered his band together to celebrate the release of the album (as well as the success of his two singles "Bang Bang Bang" and "The Bike Song") at Rough Trade West in London. It was an appropriate place for an album launch, as Ronson is a record junkie of the highest order, and Record Collection reflects that entirely. It has bits of britpop, hip-hop, glam rock, R&B, dance music and just about every variation in between. At the center of it is Ronson's charming sense of fun, which makes the whole thing an incredibly thrilling ride of an album.

Ronson wasn't the only star in front of the flashbulbs, as Jon Stewart made a rare appearance away from "The Daily Show" to pay a visit to "The Late Show With David Letterman," while Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil signed copies of his new memoir "Tattoos and Tequila" at a Barnes and Noble in Los Angeles. Click here for these photos as well as the entire "Spotted" archive, which features over 500 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Justin Bieber, Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, the Jonas Brothers, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Rihanna, Shakira and Justin Timberlake!

Justin Bieber may only be 16 years old and has only really been a player in the pop music universe for a year, but he has managed to accumulate an impressive resumé in that brief amount of time. He has two platinum albums, four singles in the top 20, a massive amount of tickets sold on his headlining (and never-ending) arena tour and a whole universe of merchandise bearing his visage. His latest expansion of the Bieber brand? Dolls!

In pop music, you're nobody until you're rendered in plastic, and now Justin Bieber can join that pantheon. Following in the footsteps of New Kids on the Block and *NSYNC before him, Bieber is getting his own set of toys, complete with guitar, hooded sweatshirt, microphone and signature hair. The toys will be available just in time for the holiday season (they're scheduled to hit stores around December 4), which make them the perfect gift for the "Somebody to Love" fan in your life.

(Click here for more celebrity dolls, including Eminem, Katy Perry and the Situation!)

With Bieber added to the ever-growing list of celebrities with doll forms, you could easily stage your own version of the MTV Video Music Awards in your own home. Bieber can be present, as could Eminem (who has a vintage figure of his own), Beyoncé (dressed in a shimmery pink gown), Katy Perry (in paper doll form) and "Jersey Shore" star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino (currently at a store near you in bobblehead form). That sounds like an excellent party, doesn't it?

It was only a matter of time before Twitter took over our television screens. Things got started with CBS' new comedy "$h*! My Dad Says" (officially pronounced — no kidding — "Bleep My Dad Says") and now we're hearing that another Twitter account may be headed to the small screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS is working with Ashton Kutcher to develop a series based on @shhdontellsteve, about a guy who secretly tweets about his roommate (the titular Steve).

We've got a hunch that this won't be the last Twitter-to-TV story we hear, so before the networks jump on any other accounts, we thought we'd throw out some of our own suggestions. Here are five Twitter accounts that undoubtedly deserve their own television show.

@KanyeWest
We already know that Kanye West always equals television gold, but his tweets only make the case stronger for him to get his own chunk of regular airtime. Kanye only joined Twitter a few months ago, but he instantly became one of the service's all-star celebrities. His tweets range from random and often hilarious observations to surprisingly thoughtful statements, all delivered in no-BS streams of consciousness. The guy even managed to make lipstick a trending topic!
Followers: Over 1.2 million
Sample Tweet: "Man do you think it's rude for your friends to give your girl a hug?"

@Charliemcdowell
Endorsed by none other than Spencer Pratt, Charlie McDowell's twitter account consists of sarcastic messages he writes to the girls who live above him (he calls them "GAM" — "girls above me"), who are not so bright (and we're being nice here). While it's not the best situation for Charlie, the result for readers is pretty laugh-out-loud funny.
Followers: Over 29,000
Sample Tweet: "Dear Girls Above Me, 'We have actual bed bugs in our apartment!? I thought that was just a saying!' Thank God we're only sort of roommates."

The latest season of "Dancing With the Stars" features perhaps the most truly star-studded cast in the history of the program, including two homegrown MTV stars: "The Hills" breakout Audrina Patridge and "Jersey Shore" centerpiece Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino. It's the latter the MTV Newsroom Blog is most excited about, so while you can check out full recaps and analysis over at the main MTV News page, this space will be dedicated to tracking the advancement of New Jersey's favorite new philosopher.

While the Situation's near-elimination during last week's run through "Dancing With the Stars" kept him on camera explaining his lack of preparation time and his willingness to improve, his relative safety this week kept him in the cast but not necessarily on the show as much. The narrative of Tuesday night's results show settled on Michael Bolton, his low-scoring performance from Monday and his insistence that judge Bruno Tonioli was "inappropriate and disrespectful" while giving Bolton notes (to which Tonioli cattily responded, "Fox is always waiting").

It wasn't completely smooth sailing for the Situation, who was the last dancer to be declared safe before Bolton was given the boot (Brandy and Rick Fox had both been on the bubble earlier in the episode). Ever the classy competitor, the Situation made sure to respectfully shake hands with a clearly disappointed Bolton. Sportsmanship!

The results episode was fleshed out with a performance by Janelle Monae, some confessions about pre-show rituals from some of the professional dancers (one refrigerates his socks, another puts hand sanitizer under her armpits for reasons never adequately explained) and a song by Seal. Once again, the Situation finds himself in survival mode, as he will probably be the assumed first-to-go next week should he turn in another mediocre performance.

Who do you think will be the next contestant eliminated on "Dancing With the Stars"? Let us know in the comments!
