The march toward the premiere of Conan O'Brien's new late night talk show on TBS continues. The new show is set to make its debut on November 8, and there are still an awful lot of details that still need to be ironed out. Will O'Brien have a sidekick? Who will be his band leader (or will he even have one at all)? And what, exactly, will his show's name be? The final question should be answered later today, as O'Brien announced that the show would get a name today. "I was going to announce the name of my new show today, but my lawyers tell me 'The Return of Nanny McPhee' is taken," he wrote. "Tune in tomorrow."
There has been a lot of speculation about what O'Brien would actually call his show, as there are a number of legal issues in play. He can't call his show simply "Conan" because the people who own the rights to Conan the Barbarian own that title. Many of the variations of "Late Night" or "The Late Show" are already taken up by other programs, and he can't got with "Conan Tonight" because George Lopez is already using that variation.
So what is left for Coco? We'll know in a few hours, but in case his team of lawyers are procrastinators, here are a handful of suggestions Conan should consider free to use.
