If you had to zero in on one person who probably had the most fun at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, you could make a great case for Justin Bieber. It was his second VMAs, though Sunday night's (September 12) show represented both his first nominations (and his first victory — he took home the Moonman for Best New Artist) and his first performance (he took over the outdoor stage for a smashing medley of "U Smile," "Baby" and "Somebody to Live"). Not only did his official business keep him busy, but he also got around backstage, hanging out with the likes of Katy Perry, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Usher and a boatload of adoring fans.
His performance was particularly impressive, as he not only got the chance to deliver some of his biggest songs to an army of screaming devotees, but he also whipped out some of his killer dance moves and also showed off his kills behind the drum kit (he even lost a stick at one point, but seamlessly grabbed another one like a true pro).
What powered Bieber's excellent performance at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards? Perhaps it was this candid moment between Bieber and MTV News host Sway. The two shared a fist bump just before the 16-year-old Canadian star took the stage to take over the show.
The Moonmen have all been handed out and the stars have gone home, but there's plenty of 2010 MTV Video Music Awards news, interviews, behind-the-scenes scoop, party reports and more still to come, so keep it locked on MTVNews.com.
