Recently, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello — known better in clubs around the world as the Swedish House Mafia — dropped by the MTV headquarters. While we talked with them at great length about their new album and film "Take One," we just had to bring up a rather provocative tweet Axwell sent out into the Twitterverse recently. Hard partying and globe trotting are all in a day's work for some of the most successful DJs on the planet, but this friendly bunch took things to a whole new level recently after a huge night at Creamfields in the U.K.
Axwell tweeted, "@tiesto @therealingrosso @sangellolive Hanging out with Tiësto guarantees a hangover the day after — and perhaps a trashed airplane."
"It was after Creamfields, where we all played," Axwell told MTV news of how the evening began. "We had our tent, Tiësto had his stage. We were all going to Ibiza because we play on Mondays [at Pacha] and he also plays on Mondays [at Privilege]." Tiësto then extended an invite to the Swedes for a ride over on his private plane on which the gang had a little post-show celebratory party.
"We didn't plan it, it just happened!" Angello added. "All of a sudden his tour manager showed up on the plane and was like 'I brought four bottles of Jagermeister and six bottles of champagne and we've got two hours.' We're like, 'OK!' "
According to Axwell, that's when the real fun kicked in. "So basically, Tiësto kind of took the lead and started spraying champagne in the plane — on the pilot!"
"Into the cockpit!" added Ingrosso.
Axwell went on to tell us that by the time the plane landed, they were up to their shins in champagne and Jagermeister. "We just fell out of the plane in Ibiza!" said Axwell. "And that was the last time we were on his plane."
