There are less than two weeks left until Christmas, which means that you should really be shoring up your shopping list and finalizing your travel plans. Stress will be at an all-time high over the next 11 days, which means that you may need a laugh before bed more than ever. Luckily, your friends at late night are here to help. Amazingly, nobody is on vacation this week, which means that your cup runneth over with after-hours options. Start with “The Late Show With David Letterman,” which features visits from Ricky Gervais (Monday, December 13), Paul Rudd (Tuesday, December 14) and Matt Damon and Florence & the Machine (Thursday, December 16). Over on “The Tonight Show,” you can spend time with the freshly-married Good Charlotte (Monday), Jack Black and Michael Buble (Tuesday), Jason Segal (Thursday) and Elle Fanning (Friday, December 17).
Choosing “Jimmy Kimmel Live” will yield interviews with Mark Wahlberg (Thursday) and Jeff Bridges (Friday) along with performances from Temper Trap (Thursday) and Diddy-Dirty Money (Friday). Jimmy Fallon doesn’t have a great music lineup this week, though there will be visits from Bette Midler (Tuesday), Ben Stiller (Wednesday, December 15) and Jeff Bridges (Friday). All the good music seems to be on “Last Call With Carson Daly,” as he’ll have A Perfect Circle (Tuesday), Interpol (Wednesday) and buzzworthy new act Fitz & the Tantrums (Friday).
On cable, “The Daily Show” features Ricky Gervais (Tuesday). The “Conan” lineup is pretty solid, featuring visits from Gwyneth Paltrow (Monday), Amy Adams (Wednesday) and a musical performance by Jenny and Johnny (Thursday). Stay up extra late on Thursday for Justin Timberlake’s visit to “Lopez Tonight.” The best moments of the week will probably belong to Bridges, who is a great interview and will have plenty to say about both “Tron: Legacy” and “True Grit.”
