This week, the Internet is abuzz with the news that it turns out your personality might not be as effected by the alignment of the stars and planets at you once thought. There is currently a debate brewing in astrological circles about how the zodiac really lines up. On one side, there are the supporters of Western astrology (the one you're probably familiar with, which is based on seasons), and in the opposite corner are the endorsers of Eastern astrology (which relies on constellations to establish its signs). Interestingly, the zodiac used by the Eastern astrologers (called the sidereal zodiac) has a 13th sign called Ophiuchus (which is a constellation of a man wrapped in a snake and sounds vaguely evil).
Think you want to adopt your new zodiac sign? Check out the new dates here. Of the musicians who take astrology seriously, it seems like many of them have dodged a bullet. Smashing Pumpkins leader Billy Corgan has often talked about his personality in the context of being a Pisces (he even called one of his albums Pisces Iscariot), and his sign will remain the same. On the other hand, Big Boi and Andre 3000 from Outkast may have to change the name of their third album from Aquemini (which combines their two signs, Aquarius and Gemini) to Tauruscorn (which represents their re-aligned signs).
However, Ace of Base can stay exactly the same, mostly because their breakout hit "The Sign" was non-committal about which version of astrology the Swedish pop group preferred. Whether you're a Cancer or an Ophiuchus, this video should open up your eyes.
