Which ‘American Idol’ Men Will Move On?

On Tuesday night (March 1), the 12 men remaining on “American Idol” competed for the coveted spots in the finals. In something of a rarity for “American Idol,” the majority of the performances broadcast on Tuesday night were roundly excellent, with only a handful of missteps among the contestants (and in some of those performances gone awry, the judges didn’t seem to notice very much). There was no single blow-away performance (save one), but the overall quality was extremely high.

Going into Tuesday night’s show, the favorites on the MTV Newsroom blog “American Idol” Top 24 poll included Casey Abrams, Robbie Rosen, Brett Loewenstern, Stefano Langone and Scotty McCreery (with Paul McDonald and Jacob Lusk trailing just behind). With another high-profile presentation under each one of those belts, who has made the biggest move? Lusk certainly made a statement with his enthralling take on “A House Is Not a Home,” while Rosen’s run through Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel” may have cost him a spot in the finals. Langone missed a few notes but got a lot of praise from the judges, while Abrams found himself in the prime position at the end of the show (a spot that is usually beneficial to performers because the voters tend to remember them first — note that Clint Jun Gamboa actually had one of the better performances of the night but will probably be left behind because he had to go first). In all honesty, just about any of these entrants could have his name called on Thursday night’s (March 3) show.

The women perform on Wednesday night’s (March 2) show, which will probably produce much higher highs and much greater lows. Until then, which guy do you think will be advancing? Vote for your favorite in the poll below and leave your arguments in the comments!
