Britney Spears didn't play into her sexy pop star persona for her LOL-worthy "I Wanna Go" video. Instead, she made fun of it by verbally flipping off annoying reporters, battling cyborg paparazzi, flirting with sexy street cops and buddying up to Weeds
It's the sort of move that Mariah Carey made in her "Touch My Body" video, where she mocked at her sexy image with an assist from 30 Rock star Jack McBrayer. The bottom line is sometimes it's nice to know pop stars are in on the joke.
And, it seems that those who work in the world of pop culture and know all things Britney agree. "The video did what it was supposed to and then some! Not only do you see Britney having lots of fun, but you also hear her speak and are just watching her look very normal," Perez Hilton shared with us early Wednesday, right after the Chris Marrs Piliero-directed video dropped. "Normal is an adjective Spears' team must be thrilled to hear people use when talking about Britney.”

"This video says that Britney has a great team around her who are advising her well," he added. "They know her strengths and weaknesses and what she needs to be doing right now. This video is mission accomplished! Home run!"
Jordan Miller, who runs the Britney fansite Breatheheavy, noted that the video, which "shows diversity, personality and a lighter side fans don't see too often," should help clear up some rumors about the pop star.
"It was absolutely a smart move. Britney's had rumors going around that she's a robot programmed by the people around her, but she takes the robot theme and turns it around on them," he says. "It's great to see Britney actually fight the paparazzi in a video instead of running from them for a change. The video feels like it's 'SNL' meets 'Toxic' meets 'Do Somethin'’ meets Femme Fatale. Britney has so many videos where she plays the sex kitten, so to see her kick ass and take names is really refreshing."
