David Guetta’s ‘Where Them Girls At’ Joins List Of Hilariously Bad Dance Clips

By James Dinh

David Guetta has never failed at delivering scorching summer dance tunes, and his Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj-assisted new single “Where Them Girls At” is no exception to that rule. In the visual for the buzzing track, which dropped Monday night, Guetta adds a twist to his typical video fashion. Instead of simply recruiting the song’s featured guests and a string of hot nobodies, the French DJ/producer takes things up a notch by creating mysterious life-size bubbles that force city strollers to perform some rather convulsive dances.

In no attempt to take away from the quality of this killer summer smash, we here in the MTV Newsroom have to admit that the moves offered in Guetta’s latest serving are kind of weird (and maybe even scary). In light of the dance floor mastermind’s latest clip, let’s take a look at some other clips with hilariously bad choreography.

Ashlee Simpson, “L.O.V.E.”

Ms. Simpson received an overwhelming amount flack for her “singing skills” during her now-infamous “SNL” mishap, but proved she didn’t have much dance chops either in the clip for her girl-anthem “L.O.V.E.” Blowing off her neglectful boyfriend to hit up a house party with friends, Ashlee lets her freestyle choreography remain the focus of this Diane Martel-directed video as she stubbles, jumps and robots her way around the party. In her defense, it’s a lot less painful than watching her do the hoe-down.

Jay Sean featuring Lil Wayne, “Hit The Lights”

No stranger to radio-friendly tunes, Jay Sean had a particular vision in mind when writing his song “Hit The Lights.” Unfortunately, that vision didn’t include dance lessons. Cash Money’s resident crooner takes to a virtual-looking venue in the video for the club banger, but it’s just not the place we’d like to spend our Saturday night. Sean attempts (at times) to bust some moves, but the delivery comes off as clumsy, especially when the background dancers aren’t even synchronized.

Britney Spears, “Piece Of Me”

Miss American Dream (since she was 17) has come under much scrutiny in recent years for her inability to match her performance skills from earlier in her career. While she may very well be on her way back to tip-top shape, Spears’ dance moves took a turn for the worse in the Wayne Isham-directed “Piece Of Me” when she escaped to a club bathroom and performed a dance break that would have “I’m A Slave 4 U” crying in a corner. Britney looks like she’s having a good time spinning away in the lounge-y bathroom, but we can’t say the same for her back-up dancers, who stumble into the stall wall and sink … repeatedly.

Fonzworth Bentley featuring Kanye West, Andre 3000 & Sa-Ra, “Everybody”

Hip-hop heavyweights Kanye West, Andre 3000 and Sa-Ra reminded us why they should stick to their day job when they danced up a storm in the video for Fronzworth Bentley’s debut single “Everybody.” Playing band members of a group called C.O.L.O.U.R.S. (Cool Outrageous Lovers of Uniquely Raw Style), the five-some took to the stage to show off some “suave” dance skills. In the end, it’s all about the effort, right?
