It was an all-out good time on Wednesday night in Brooklyn thanks to a fun fest thrown by Paper magazine that included performances from current cover boys Joe Jonas and Swizz Beatz.
MTV News had the pleasure of catching up with the musicians at the Sounds Like Paper Concert at the House of Vans in Brooklyn, NY, where they were celebrating their Paper magazine cover along with the night's DJ Jonjon Battles. We asked all the hard-hitting questions … like what cover they'd buy, if, let's say, they weren't actually on the cover.
Joe, being the sweet guy he is, told us that he'd be all about the Swizz cover of he were to buy one. "I would have to go with Swizz. I don’t know about the other guy," he joked. "I actually really like Swizz Beatz's watch [on the cover]."
The cover was especially significant for Joe as it marks a big step towards launching himself as a pop'n'b solo star and he admits that being recognized by a hip, indie-leaning mag like Paper is a great way to launch this next step in his career. "Paper magazine's so cool … to work with them is so cool," he explained, adding that they are on the pulse of what he loves in fashion and music. At the party, Joe also performed several new tracks, including his single "See No More," as well as "Love Slayer," "Just In Love With You" and the album's title song, "Fast Life."
Swizz Beatz, who also jammed at the party, played MTV News' little game of which cover do you like better, but he was much less humble than Joe about his pick. "I'm gonna pick the cover with the person that got the Tom Ford outfit," he laughed. (Admittedly we chuckled a bit at the answer as well.) Hint: He's wearing Tom Ford on the cover.
