When we asked Marc Jacobs about his always brilliant casting of celebrities for his cheeky clothing ads, we had no idea the hubbub that was brewing regarding a recent one starring Dakota Fanning.
You see, U.K.’s Ad Standards Authority found the Oh, Lola! ad featuring the 17-year-old to perhaps be a bit too cheeky, PEOPLE reports. In it, Fanning wears a pale blush colored dress, her legs outstretched in front of her as the bottle rests atop of them. It seems the placement of that bottle was a bit too much for the Authority who had this to say:
“The length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality. Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualize a child.”
Well, regardless of what they have to say about that ad (which, by the way, we don’t really see the big deal about), Jacobs did give us some insight into how he casts folks like Dakota and hinted that there was one recent celebrity who didn’t want to play. It’s kind of like a blind item from the most reliable source!

“Yeah, unfortunately she didn’t want to do it, so I’m not going to talk about her,” he teased. “But yeah, there’s always people. Right now I don’t know. It’s always kind of random. There’s somebody that I’m thinking about and if they’re available and into it then it works out and it’s great. But you know, you never know.”
