Marc Jacobs and Lady Gaga are pals. We’re not gonna lie – that fact makes us a bit jealous, but we digress. The last time we checked in with the fashion designer of our dreams, he revealed how he picks out the celebs he uses as the models in his campaigns and given the fact that Gaga and him are such besties, we’d always imagine her to be a magical muse. Well, whether or not that happens, Gaga does have a 2012 tour to plan wardrobe for, leading us to wonder if she has reached out to Marc yet to design anything for the shows?

“We’re friends. No, no I haven’t spoken to her in a while,” he said when we asked him. “I think the last concert I saw her was in Paris, so I haven’t [spoken to her] in a while since then. Well, I haven’t seen her since then.”

Let's make it happen! Given all the awesome stuff these two have already cooked up together and the fact that they readily hang out with one another (at fashion shows and after parties and the show covers of magazines) we’re hoping to see something Marc Jacobs on Gaga during her "Born This Way Ball."

Britney Spears

Hey there, Britney fans! We hope you're enjoying MTV News' Britney Spears: 30 Videos For 30 Years tournament. In the lead-up to the Princess of Pop's 30th birthday on Friday, December 2, we will be hosting a March Madness-style single-elimination showdown to find out which of Spears' legendary videos is your favorite.

Let's start with some ground rules. Though a traditional bracket has 32 spots/teams, we decided to keep it to 30 videos in honor of Britney's big day. To do this, we had to disqualify a few of Britney's clips while also giving two of her videos a "by" in Round One. We chose "Piece of Me" and "Till the World Ends" to move automatically on to Round Two because both won major MTV Video Music Awards – "Piece" was 2008's Video of the Year (Spears' only clip to claim the top VMA prize) and "World Ends" earned Britney her most recent VMA for Best Pop Video and she was able to attend the ceremony to accept the prize. We chose to disqualify "Break the Ice" because Britney does not appear in the animated video and "Born to Make You Happy" because the song did not chart commercially in the United States.

Make sure you vote in Round One of our Britney Spears Tournament: 30 Videos For 30 Years (and be sure to encourage other Britney fans to get in on the action!):

>>> Region 1: "Sometimes" vs. "My Prerogative" / "Everytime" vs. "If U Seek Amy" / "Lucky" vs. "Boys"

>>> Region 2: "Oops! I Did It Again" vs. "Someday (I Will Understand) / "Stronger" vs. "Gimme More" / "I Wanna Go" vs. "Criminal" / "…Baby One More Time" vs. "Overprotected"

>>> Region 3: "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" vs. "Hold It Against Me" / "(You Drive Me) Crazy" vs. "From the Bottom of My Broken Heart" / "Me Against the Music" vs. "I Love Rock 'n' Roll"

>>> Region 4: "Toxic" vs. "Radar" / "Circus" vs. "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" / "Womanizer" vs. "3" / "I'm A Slave 4 U" vs. "Do Somethin'"

Now, let's take a look at some of the more exciting races in Round One and try and predict the winners! Read More...

Amy Winehouse

By Zachary Swickey

Unlike some posthumous musical careers, it appears that fans of Amy Winehouse won’t get to hear all of the unreleased songs the singer recorded before her untimely death. The Guardian reports that record execs intend to honor Amy’s wishes by not releasing around a dozen unfinished tracks that the singer did not want the public to hear.

While we highly anticipate the release of Lioness: Hidden Treasures, the upcoming posthumous collection from Winehouse, the disc will likely be the final material we get to hear from the singer. Island Records’ Darcus Beese discussed the matter with Music Week magazine, stating, “We’ve had to qualify [Lioness] in front of Amy’s family. Her mum, her dad, her brother – that’s her very vocal, protective brother – plus fiancés, stepfathers and more.”

Beese defends the release of the new 12-track album, explaining they are songs Amy wanted the public to hear, but says he will adhere to Winehouse’s wishes by leaving around a dozen other tracks in the Island vaults. He makes no mention of why exactly the singer didn’t want all of her material heard; however, the lock-up is certainly not due to a lack of quality. Read More...

It's time for the Britney Spears Tournament: 30 Videos for 30 Years, MTV News' celebration of all things Britney to honor the pop star's 30th birthday! In the lead up to the big day, we're asking you, Brit's most loyal fans, to help us decide which video from her legendary career is your favorite by participating in a winner-take-all tournament. MTV News' resident Britney experts assigned 30 of Britney's videos seeds and put them up against one another in a series of single-elimination match-ups. Fan voting will determine which of her amazing clips is named the fan-favorite. So vote now and vote often for your favorite video. The winner will be announced on December 2 – Britney's 30th birthday!

Note: Because a traditional bracket contains 32 teams/spots and we wanted to keep it to 30 in honor of Brit's big year, we gave two videos – "Till The World Ends" and "Piece of Me" – a by because they scored major MTV Video Music Awards.

(3) "Toxic" vs. (30) "Radar"
Our girl is a super spy assassin in the clip for arguably her best single, "Toxic." (Hey, it's the tune that won Spears a Grammy.) In the high-octane video, Spears sports a number of sexy looks, including a nude crystal studded bodysuit (a signature look, yes?) and a super short flight attendant's uniform. She has plenty of outfit changes in the video for "Radar" too, many of them culled from her Candies line at Kohl's. In "Radar," Spears plays an aristocrat with the hots for a sexy polo player.

(14) "Circus" vs. (19) "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman"
Britney Spears has always understood the importance of good photography. Many of her videos are filmed with the same care and quality as a Hollywood film, and two great examples of this are "Circus" and "Girl." "Girl" arrived early in Britney's career – so early it weaves in clips from Britney's film "Crossroads" – but holds up courtesy of the gorgeous cliffs that a serve as a location for a buff and blonde Spears to belt out the ballad. Meanwhile, the more recent Francis Lawrence-directed video for "Circus" is epic, showcasing spectacular costumes and dazzling lighting effects.

>>> Watch the video for "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman"

(11) "Womanizer" vs. (22) "3"
A pretty serious knee injury in 2004 sidelined Spears, inarguably one of the strongest dancers in pop, for a few years, but when she returned to the dance scene in 2008 with "Womanizer" she seemed to have battled past the worst of her injury. She kicked things up even further a year later in the video for "3," which ditched the narrative structure and sets that made "Womanizer" such a strong return to form for simple set pieces and more complex moves. (Oh, and she looked better than ever.) Which makes for a better clip is for you to decide!

(6) "I'm A Slave 4 U" vs. (27) "Do Somethin'"
It's a true Britney classic versus a video that people might not be nearly as familiar with because it never received a single release in the United States. "Do Somethin'," which appears on Spears' greatest hits package, was a minor worldwide hit for the pop star but never got a formal push here, so its video, which features Spears and four friends hitting the club and riding around in a truck in the sky (yep!), hasn't gotten a lot of love. The exact opposite can be said for "I'm a Slave 4 U" – one of Britney's most iconic videos. In Francis Lawrence's legendary clip, Spears sweats it with her hot and heavy dance crew in a futuristic urban setting. The ultra sexy video was a marked change from the more family-friendly clips that dominated Spears' early career.

First round voting continues through Tuesday night (Nov. 22) at midnight. Vote now and vote often! The videos you voted to move on to Round Two will be announced first thing Wednesday (Nov. 23).

(4) "Oops! I Did It Again" vs. (29) "Someday (I Will Understand)"
We're not sure if two more different videos are squaring off anywhere else in this competition. In one corner is "Oops!" the otherworldly (literally), colorful, dance-heavy, big budget video that helped launch Britney's massive second album. In the other corner, "Someday," a low budget, black and white clip for a promo ballad that features a very pregnant Spears walking around a big old house and lush garden. Which is better? That's not for us to say. Different strokes for different folks, you know?

>>> Watch the video for "Oops! I Did It Again"
>>> Watch the video for "Someday (I Will Understand)"

(13) "Stronger" vs. (20) "Gimme More"
Oh, boy! These two videos came at very different periods in Spears' career. "Stronger" hit the scene as the third single from Oops! I did It Again, though it is arguably the biggest hit from the album, having topped the Billboard sales chart. The video includes a memorable solo dance number that sees Spears engaging in some serious choreography with a metal chair. "Gimme More" features a very different style of dancing … and it involves a pole.

(12) "I Wanna Go" vs. (21) "Criminal"
A Femme Fatale battle royale! How do Britney's two most recent videos compare when pitted against each other? Well, we suppose it's a matter of taste – the clip for "I Wanna Go" is a fun, tongue-in-cheek send-up on modern celebrity, with Spears escaping a press conference to embark on a wild ride that includes a sexy policeman and some robotic photographers, while "Criminal" strives for something darker and sexier, as Spears and real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick go on a crime spree and spend some quality time in a steamy shower.

(5) "…Baby One More Time" vs. (28) "Overprotected"
It almost seems unfair to put a simple video of Britney dancing with her crew in an abandoned warehouse against the clip for the title track from Britney's debut album, …Baby One More Time, one of the most iconic music videos of all time – there isn't a single person on the planet who cannot conjure up an image of Spears in a schoolgirl uniform with her shirt tied up to reveal her naval – but that's how these things pan out sometimes. "Overprotected" may be lesser known, but it begs for a little attention … any video that focuses on Spears busting a move is just fine with us.

(16) "Sometimes" vs. (17) "My Prerogative"
Do you like your Britney sweet and innocent or saucy and sexy? That's the showdown here. "Sometimes" showcases the Britney we were first introduced to – cherubic and sweet as apple pie, dancing innocently on a pier – while "My Prerogative" ushered in a defiant new era for the pop star. "Prerogative" was essentially Britney's way of flipping the bird at those criticizing the choices she was making in her personal life at the time – specifically her relationship with Kevin Federline, who appears in the Jake Nava-directed clip.

>>> Watch the video for "Sometimes"
>>> Watch the video for "My Prerogative"

(9) "Everytime" vs. (24) "If U Seek Amy"
One of Britney's more controversial clips, in "Everytime" our diva stars as herself, hounded by paparazzi at a Las Vegas hotel, who drowns in her bathtub after discovering that she is bleeding from a wound in her head. In a dream-like state, Spears wanders through the hospital as doctors fail to resuscitate her and a child is born in the next room. While the clip for "If U Seek Amy" itself is less controversial, the 2009 single inspired the Parents Television Council to threaten to file indecency complaints with the Federal Communications Commission against any station that played the song between 6 AM and 10 PM.

>>> Watch the video for "If U Seek Amy"

(8) "Lucky" vs. (25) "Boys"
Interestingly, both of these clips are very Hollywood, but for two different reasons. "Lucky" tells the tale of a Hollywood starlet suffering from a bout of loneliness despite out-of-this-world success. Meanwhile, "Boys," which features a guest verse from producer Pharrell Williams, comes from the "Austin Powers in Goldmember" soundtrack and boasts an appearance from Austin himself, Mike Myers. Which is your favorite Britney Hollywood moment?

(15) "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" vs. (18) "Hold It Against Me"
Britney has worked with some of the top video directors in the business and these two clips exemplify the level of talent she has surrounded herself with. The beachy clip for Spears' ballad "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" was directed by acclaimed photographer Herb Ritts, who also directed classic videos for Madonna ("Cherish"), Janet Jackson ("Love Will Never Do Without You") and Mariah Carey ("My All"), and caused some scandal because of the sexy way Ritts filmed the scantily clad starlet. On her "Hold It Against Me" video, she worked with another huge name in the video game, Jonas Akerlund. Akerlund has worked with some of pop's biggest names too, from Madonna ("Ray of Light") and Christina Aguilera ("Beautiful) to Pink ("Sober") and his most recent muse, Lady Gaga ("Papparazzi," "Telephone").

(10) "(You Drive Me) Crazy" vs. (23) "From The Bottom of My Broken Heart"
The quintessential early Spears ballad, "From My Broken Heart" features some of the most classically all-American imagery possible: sunflowers, a young couple playfully tossing around a football, star-gazing from a water tower, a tire swing. And of course, there's our girl Britney, sitting on a front porch in a floppy hat mooning over her first love. Swoon! Things are a little simpler in the video for "Crazy," with our girl engaging in a good old fashioned boys versus girls dance off. Bonus points for the guest appearances from Melissa Joan Hart and Adrian Grenier.

(7) "Me Against the Music" vs. (26) "I Love Rock 'n' Roll"
Britney Spears as a leather-clad rock goddess in the vein of Joan Jett? It happened with Brit's remake of "I Love Rock 'n' Roll." The video is simple enough –performance clip of Britney rocking out with a live band – especially when compared to the elaborate clip for "Me Against the Music," which throws Britney into the ring (or more accurately, the maze) with her idol, Madonna. When these two came together for this song, it was a pop culture event, and while the song itself may not be one of her best, the video is a true Britney classic. It's the moment when the Princess and the Queen came together to make some magic.

Regis Philbin

By Uptin Saiidi

Where else would you have Donald Trump, New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg and Tony Danza all under one roof but at Regis Philbin’s farewell episode, which aired Friday, November 18.

The talk show host broke the Guinness World Record in 2004 for having the "Most Hours On Camera" and currently has logged in over 17,000 hours of live face time. It's easy to rack in the hours when you've spent 56 years on TV. And being born just five years after the TV first came out in 1926 can't hurt either.

From reviewing a meal at a restaurant to dishing his thoughts on a movie premiere, Regis has always had the natural ability to talk in a way that makes you forget he's on a screen and think he’s sitting right next to you.

But despite all the records and success he has by age 80 (yes, he's 80!), he insists he’s not retiring. Read More...

Kristen Wiig

We kind of figured Kristen Wiig was a smarty pants when we learned she co-wrote the amazingly funny "Bridesmaids," but we had no idea the extent of her genius-like brilliance. (Well, we got a peek when she went toe-to-toe with a particularly spunky teen in that extended jewelry store insult-off from "Bridesmaids.")

It looks like the "Saturday Night Live" standout has figured out how to solve global warming. We can all go home and rest easy now.

Wiig, an ambassador for the Clinton Foundation's Celebrity Division, has all the answers in this Funny or Die skit. Kristen's Global Breathing Initiative – which would require every person on the planet to hold their breath for a minute every day – would be like taking a billion cars off the road because of all the carbon we humans exhale and would feature a celebrity ad campaign "with celebrities holding their breath really sexy." We're totally into it. Check it out after the jump! Read More...

Kim kardashian

By Henna Kathiya

Tyler Perry fans were not too happy about his choice of casting reality star Kim Kardashian in his latest project, "The Marriage Counselor." Two weeks ago, Perry announced Kardashian had been chosen to play Ava, a co-worker of Judith (Jurnee Smollett), an Ivy League educated therapist who decides to step outside of her marriage to spice up her life. Fans of the prolific director immediately took to the message boards, denouncing Perry’s choice of someone they feel to be morally questionable. In light of Kardashian recently announcing her divorce from Kris Humphries after only 72 days of marriage, Perry’s fans are even more enraged.

After weeks of fans protesting the casting of Kardashian in "The Marriage Counselor," Perry defended his actions in an open letter on his website. It seems as if the mind behind "Madea" believes that Kim K. is a role model to millions of her followers. Perry finds that casting her in his film would be the ideal way to bring them to see his movie.

In his letter he states: “She literally has millions of young people following her. I thought and still do think, that it would be very responsible of her to be a part of this film. To have the young people that look up to her, see her in a film that is about what happens in life when you make the wrong choices. Whether you’re aware of it or not, to be honest with you I wasn’t, millions of young people adore her and are following her every move. If one of those young people see this film and find the strength to live a better life and not go through what these characters went through in this movie, then we have all done what I feel I’m being led to do here. I hope you understand. I really do!”
