It's time for a confession – we're just not that into "Twilight." It's not that we're haters or anything; it's just that it's not our scene. We like our vampires dark and scary not teenaged and angsty. That said, we're totally into Kristen Stewart and wish the series well.

So we're a bit distressed to hear that our girl Kristen gets chewed up – literally! – in "Breaking Dawn – Part 1." When we heard that Robert Pattinson's Edward is forced to quite literally chew a fetus out of Bella when a scalpel can't penetrate the placenta, we freaked out a little bit. That sounds insane!

In honor of this horrendous sequence, our pals at MTV Movies rounded up the 10 most gruesome birth scenes in film. Get a taste after the jump and visit MTV Movies Blog for the full list! Read more...

By now, you've no doubt heard that Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher's six-year marriage is over. Moore filed for divorce yesterday and released a statement to the Associated Press, saying, "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."

Kutcher took to his favorite medium, Twitter, to issue his own thoughts. "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi," Kutcher tweeted yesterday. "Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK."

The platform for Kutcher's response was fitting considering his romance with Moore basically unfolded for everyone to see on Twitter. The pair were never shy about sharing the details of their relationship and are perhaps the most high profile couple to invite the public into their private life via the social media site. Just check out some of the TwitPics from these two over the years. Read more...

Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin are finally showing off the fruits of their labor. No, they haven't' collaborated on a track (though that would be… something…), the pop superstars have joined forces with MAC as the faces of their always A-list, socially aware MAC Viva Glam campaign for 2012.

In the photo, a dolled up Nicki, wearing a bright pink latex dress, pink hair and neon makeup, sits atop a motorcycle looking like her usual sexy self. Meanwhile a tatted up Ricky poses quite manically, holding up a giant pink lipstick. The shoot itself is full of graffiti art and looks a bit pieced together and photoshopped in that pop art kind of way.

Oh yeah, it's done in the way that renowned celebrity photographer David LaChapelle is known for. Did we mention he did the photos? Well, he did. Read more...

Think the bustling energy of The Klaxons, Bloc Party and The Kills – so says electronic DJ producer Steve Aoki when describing the latest addition to his Dim Mak record label family, New Ivory. The band features three gents – Alessandro, Mickey and Andy – all hailing from London, England, and according to Aoki their sound is an explosion of British rock that he’s super-pyched for fans to hear. The band’s first video for “Something You Should Know” is out online, but Steve Aoki wants to know what YOU think of New Ivory!

Check out the video below!

“New Ivory is a young band,” Aoki told MTV News. “Actually, their first album is not coming out until next year, 2012. ‘Something You Should Know’ is their first single off the album. When I heard the band first it was about a year and half ago. I go their demo, 'The Night,' which we put out six months ago as a soft launch for the band.”

“It’s that same instantaneous energy that made me want to sign them," he continued, "that I got when I heard Block Party in ‘03, or The Kills in ’02, or when I heard the Klaxons for the first time. There's something amazing about the songwriting and the vocals and all that. Like a juvenile oasis. The music is pure British rock." Read more...

We agree with Steve Aoki (as he mentioned on his recent "Aoki’s House" satellite show): Felix Cartal has a HUGE song on his hands! The song is called “Don’t Turn On The Lights,” and much like when Afrojack hit American radio with “Take Over Control,” Felix’s “Lights” is a bit more mainstream than his fans might be used to. The song features Polina, a vocalist who’s collab’ed with Aoki and Kaskade to name a few, and in advance of the single dropping December 13, MTV got an exclusive teaser of the music video. Check it out!

“Don’t Turn On The Lights,” is the first single off the electronic DJ-producer’s upcoming album Different Faces, a project meant to show a departure in the artist's sound.

“The first single 'Don't Turn On The Lights' is a chance for me to try some more memorable melodies," Cartal told MTV News. “I really wanted to create something that people could hum along to, something that they would recognize instantly, but still with powerful, hard-hitting production behind it. Polina's vocals really helped bring this song together to make it one of the catchiest songs I feel that I've ever produced.” Read more...

Avril Lavigne

By Zachary Swickey

Canadian pop-punk superstar Avril Lavigne has now joined Epic Records, which reunites her with the same man who began her career, label chairman and current judge/star on “X Factor,” L.A. Reid.

Reid – who is also responsible for skyrocketing the careers of Mariah Carey, Pink, OutKast and Justin Bieber, to name a few – originally signed Lavigne in 2000 to the now-defunct Arista Records, which was closed along with J and Jive Records back in September.

Lavigne gushed on her Facebook wall about the reunion, writing, “I am now on Epic Records and finally working with LA Reid again (he signed me when I was 15) re-inspired.” Read more...

Two double-boots in a row and two jury members later, we've finally arrived at that point in the "Survivor" season where you can actually identify every single person playing the game by name and face… for the most part, at least. With only seven players slugging it out in the "South Pacific" while three vie for redemption, now's the perfect chance to look at all the Survivors and weigh their odds for… well, survival.

Taylor Swift, Twitter

Taylor Swift, Twitter

Last week in Taylor Swift being Taylor Swift, the country-pop megastar found Christmas trees at the country Music Association Awards and posted her thanks to the superstars who've joined her on tour by writing their names on her arm and taking a picture with her new kitty in the background.

That's a very Taylor Swift thing to do. Kind of like being surprised all the time and being obsessed with cookbooks.

This week, she continued to reveal that she's actually a 65-year-old woman how cute she is by explaining the origins of her adorable new kitten's name, Meredith.

"Her name is Meredith – Meredith Grey because she's a gray cat, and because I love 'Grey's Anatomy'!" Swift told US Weekly. "She's awesome. She's like one of those cats that give cats a good name. She doesn't hide under furniture and get weird around people. She's really friendly and fun and she's perfect for the road because she doesn't ever get freaked out. So I'm really glad that she has a cool personality."

Oh Taylor. (Confession: We love Taylor Swift – in our current Justin Bieber baby drama world, Taylor Swift being Taylor Swift is like a breath of fresh air.) For more of Taylor being Taylor – Christmas is coming! – read on. Read more...

A little over a month ago, when MTV News' Jim Cantiello asked Simon Cowell when he was going to join Twitter, the "X Factor" judge told him, "I can't do the typing. All my friends, they literally text without looking at the screen. I'm still like, 'Where's the S, where's the A?' I've got to learn how to do it. I'd love to do it. Once they do the thing where you can actually talk and type, I'll be on it like a shot."

Well, we're not sure they've developed that technology in the weeks since Jim sat down with Cowell and fellow judge L.A. Reid, but that didn't stop him from joining the social networking service. Last night, @SimonCowell sent his first tweet into the ether. "It's official, I know it's taken a while. It's really me! We're live in 10 minutes. I'll keep you posted. Lots of love #iamsimon. "

Within 12 (mostly overnight) hours, Cowell had racked up over 180,000 followers. So far he's mostly used his new platform to launch fun jabs at Reid, Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger and one not so good-spirited dig at Piers Morgan, who tweeted, "At last! Bring. It. On. love #iampiers. Save your breath @SimonCowell - nobody's watching X Factor, my show's about to start #CNN @PiersTonight," after noticing Cowell signed up for Twitter.

We'd expect nothing less!

Earlier today, People magazine revealed the handsome gent it named 2011's Sexiest Man Alive. The winner … Bradley Cooper.

Really? Really?

Listen, it's not that Cooper isn't a very attractive guy. He is, of course. And it's not that he doesn't seem charming. (Who else will speak French so fluently in your ear?) Plus, we know he can be damn funny when he needs to be (see: "Wedding Crashers" and "Wet Hot American Summer").

It's more that the timing seems so off. Sure, Cooper had a big hit with "The Hangover Part II," but let's be serious – how many of us are still under that movie's spell? When the subject came up this morning in the MTV Newsroom, some people – people who report on the entertainment industry for a living! – couldn't remember if it came out in March or April (it actually came out in May). So that's the impact it had.

It's an especially strange choice considering this year had an undeniable breakout hunk in the heavenly form of Ryan Gosling, star of box office hits like "Crazy, Stupid, Love" and critical darlings "Ides of March" and "Drive" (no one character this year epitomized the guys want to be him/girls want to date him dynamic more than Gosling's smoking hot Driver).

But don't take our word for it! Our resident Gosling enthusiast over at Hollywood Crush makes a pretty convincing case for why Gosling should have been the man on the cover rather than one of the many others celebrated inside the magazine. Check it out.

We mean seriously! Check this guy out. What's not to love?
