Madonna

It's been a busy few weeks in Madonna land.

We finally got confirmation that the Queen of Pop would indeed be headlining the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVI. Soon thereafter, a series of tweets from Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. revealed that filming for the video to "Gimme All Your Luvin," the first single from her forthcoming, still-untitled 12th studio album, was underway. And this week, we found out that said album would be released by Interscope as part of a three-album deal, making her label-mates with Lady Gaga and Eminem.

"We couldn't be happier to work with [Interscope's] Jimmy Iovine, [Chairman & CEO, Universal Music Group] Lucian Grainge and the entire Interscope team," Madonna's longtime manager Guy Oseary said in a statement. "We anticipate a very bright future at our new home."

Now comes word that Her Madgesty has started rehearsals for her Super Bowl performance and the alleged setlist has been leaked to fan site Madonnarama. So what classics can we expect to hear when she takes the stage at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN, on February 5? Read on to find out! Read more...

Kim K

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have a bit of a history, so we're not exactly surprised that the hip-hop all-star was reportedly "all over" the newly single reality TV thingamajig, according to the New York Daily News.

The pair were spotted chatting up a storm at billionaire Ron Burkle's after-party for The Throne's concert at Los Angeles' Staples Center. "Kanye was eating Kim up like she was a piece of cake. He was all over her – caressing her head, touching her waist," an "insider" (who is also doubles as a mind-reader) told the Daily News. "I think he was dying to kiss her, but there were too many people in the room."

Do you think that?

Asked about the whispers that Kim K. and West had a little somethin'-somethin' going on in late 2010, West's ex Amber Rose pretty much confirmed the rumors to Wendy Williams back in November, saying, "I mean, come on, like, you know. Come on! We'll keep it cute." (She also confirmed that she and Kim's ex Reggie Bush "were each other's rebounds" after their respective breakups … which is kinda strange, right?)

The source at the Throne after-party went on to say that West only talked to Kardashian at the party and that at one point the two went outside together (le scandal!), though it wasn't clear if they left the fiesta together. The mind-reading source concluded that Kim was "totally into it." Read more...

Courtney Love

By Zachary Swickey

Courtney Love is at it again!

The Hole frontwoman is reportedly being evicted from her New York City pad after the owner of the property discovered the house to be a wreck with the rocker also late on $50,000 in rent.

According to the New York Post, owner Donna Lyon is taking Love to court over the four-story West 10th Street house that she’s been renting for just ten months that carries a whopping $27,000 a month payment. Lyon claims Love has ruined the home’s designer interior by painting over fancy hand-finished walls and has continuously been delinquent on her payments.

Lyon purchased the residence just last year for a cool $8 million. Describing it to the Post, she said, “It was decorated by the previous owner, interior designer Steven Gambrel. One of the requirements of the lease is that nothing should be done to the interiors.”

She then described the mess that Love has reportedly made. “I came to New York to see it and I was horrified by what she had done," she told the Post. "The walls that had been hand-painted and glazed were ruined, covered in damask wallpaper and ice-blue paint.” (In Love’s defense, ice blue sounds like a pretty rad color choice.) Read more...

Beyonce had a big year in 2011 and we're not even talking about, well, you know!

Musically the queen of mainstream R&B had her game face on this year, releasing SEVEN music videos from her amazing album 4, each completely different from the one before it. We've been singing 4's praises for months on end, and each new video was an event worth celebrating.

Whether she was dancing up a storm in a post-apocalyptic world in "Run The World (Girls)" or throwing a trailer park fiesta in "Party," she was constantly changing things up with inventive visuals, clever concepts and evolving looks that, yes, sometimes played up (and other times downplayed) the world's most famous baby bump.

But which clip was the fan-favorite? Do you like your Beyonce super sexy ("1+1," "Best Thing I Never Had") or blissed-out and groovin' ("Love on Top," "Countdown")? Refresh your memory by checking out the clips ("Girls" is above, the rest are below) and vote in our poll after the jump. Read more...

Just in case you’re thinking about your 2012 vacation plans, Carnival’s Concert Cruise Line has announced a new one-off voyage. You can cruise the Caribbean in luxury, stopping in various island locales and hanging out with, uh … R. Kelly.

That’s right! The Pied Piper of R&B is the star of the new "Love Letter Cruise," which sails next October. If you book by Dec. 17, you can lock up a two-person cabin on Kelly's love boat for a cool $500 deposit, securing you a spot on the five-day trip with the controversial crooner, who is slated to perform a "romantic" set. If that’s not incentive enough, you can also sign up for step classes or a "12 Play" basketball game to sweat out the calories from all those all-you-can-eat buffets.

Mister Kelly has never taken a traditional approach to his career, and in recent months, he’s continued with his typically eccentric behavior. After a quiet spell, he emerged with "Shut Up," an opus about folks hating on him for having throat surgery. (If you find that odd, remember this is the man who penned songs like "You Remind Me of My Jeep" and "Sex in the Kitchen.") He also announced he is writing an autobiography called "Soulacoaster," which would also address the throat surgery because, you know, everyone wants to read about throat surgery.

Most recently, it was reported that his infamous Chicago mansion – where his alleged infamous, um, activities took place – was in foreclosure.

And now, he’ll take his show on the high seas. Trapped on a boat with the Kells? Better than being trapped in the closet, for sure. Sign us up!

Would you hit the high seas for a romantic cruise with R. Kelly? Vote in our poll, after the jump! Read more...

President Obama

By Shakira Atitebi

Regardless of the growing international popularity of Facebook, which has over 800 million users, the social networking is not allowed in the White House.

In their only exclusive print interview of the holiday season, President Obama and First Lady Michelle tell PEOPLE Magazine they do not permit daughters Sasha and Malia on Facebook. "It's not been a hard decision," the President said.

Although the First Family is always under the watchful eye of the public, the Commander in Chief prefers his privacy, saying, "Why would we want to have a whole bunch of people who we don't know knowing our business? That doesn't make much sense."

But when Michelle explained that Malia is only 13 and Sasha is 10, the President giggled and added, "We'll see how they feel in four years."

While the President and his lovely wife might have a change of heart in the future about whether Malia and Sasha can be on Facebook, at least they can agree on their favorite TV show as a family. Read on to see what it is! Read more...

We have to admit that we were curious what known Twitter-file Demi Moore was going to do with her Twitter handle (@mrskutcher) after she filed for divorce from hubby Ashton Kutcher. It seems we weren't the only ones.

After weeks of keeping quiet on the matter, Moore took to Twitter to issue a "shut the f**k up" notice cease-and-desist notice to the Nosy Nelly's who kept inundating her with the question. "Changing my Twitter name isn't a top priority right now. Sorry it bothers so many of u," Moore tweeted today. "Should I not tweet until I do? does it really matter?"

Well, that answers that.

Not to sound self-aggrandizing here, but one of the things that is so enjoyable about our Bands We Like features is the discovery factor. That feeling that you've found something new that hasn't quite gone mainstream, that is really special and you just know everyone is going to love. Case in point, Walk The Moon, a group of fun-loving, wonderfully entertaining musicians whose tunes will brighten your day and make you want to dance. See: "Anna Sun" "I Can Lift A Car" and "Quesadilla."

The Cincinnati natives - Nicholas Petricca, lead singer, keyboardist, bangs a drum or two; Kevin Ray, bassist; Eli Maiman, guitar; and Sean Waugaman, drums - got together a couple of years ago and started playing locally in Cincinnati and have been generating crazy buzz after appearing at Coachella, SXSW, CMJ and touring with 2012 favorite Fitz And The Tantrums.

Earlier this month, we were swooning all over the place about Britney Spears and her big 30th birthday. We even held a weeks-long March Madness-style tournament to find out which of her thirty-plus videos was the fan favorite. Ultimately, after nearly a million votes were cast (thanks again, y'all!) the winner was "I'm A Slave 4 U."

So that's settled.

What's not settled is which of her fantastic videos from just this year is your favorite. We decided to dedicate this week to finding out which 2011 videos by MTV Newsroom blog favorite artists were tops. So far we've opened up polling for Katy Perry and Taylor Swift (don't forget to vote! We'll let you know all of the results on Monday!). Now, it's B's turn.

Britney had a big year in 2011. She had yet another No. 1 record, Femme Fatale, which is arguably her best album to date. Fatale has yielded more top ten hits than any album in Spears' 12-year career. (Isn't that kind of an incredible fact, considering she's one of the most successful female artists ever?) She also hit the road for a massive world tour that took her across North America, Europe and South America, and scored a Video Music Award for Best Pop Video. And she should have been nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance Recording for "Till The World Ends" … but what are you gonna do?

Spears released four videos this year for the Femme Fatale singles "Hold It Against Me," "Till The World Ends," "I Wanna Go" and "Criminal." Which was the best of the best? Check 'em out ("Hold It Against Me" is above, the rest are after the jump) and vote in our poll below. Read more...
