Jessica Simpson

Pregnant ladies of the future rejoice! Some very stylish celebrities plan to dream up some fabulous fashions for the expecting set. So, if one day you plan to have a baby on board, Jessica Simpson and Beyonce have got your back.

The two pop stars-turned-pregnant moguls, have recently announced that they want to make moms look cool, though we imagine it might take a second to get the lines to market (you know since they are currently probably more focused on their pregnancies).

Beyonce made her announcement in Harper’s Bazaar, sharing her philosophy about dressing for two. "I love figuring out designs that still make me feel edgy and sexy while pregnant," she told the mag. "Flowy fabrics are always flattering…but I still rock my stilettos."

So does Jessica, who Fashionista reports will have her maternity line out by February. Given how successful Jessica has been in the fashion world, we have no doubt that she’ll be able to nail down just what mommas-to-be all across the world want to wear. Read more...

Swedish electronic dance music DJ-producer Tim Berg winds down 2011 seemingly seated on a throne. Under his Avicii stage moniker, he has arguably one of the most popular dance music singles of the year, "Levels," which was recently released by Interscope and has a hilarious music video to accompany it. He sits just above Afrojack at #6 on DJ Mag's list of top 10 most popular DJs on the planet. And more recently, a song he co-produced with David Guetta, "Sunshine," was nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance Recording.

Underscoring the accolade, MTV News caught up with Guetta this weekend, where the dance music icon sang Berg's praises. Check it out below:

“He's an amazing new talent,” Guetta says. "I think he has a great future. In the same way that I met with Afrojack two years ago and was like, 'Wow this kid is amazing!' and I tried to help him as much as I could, last year I met Avicii."

Taylor Swift

(Ed Note: I wanted to kick this post off with a full disclosure moment … I am head-over-heels in love with and completely obsessed with the film "Working Girl." It is, perhaps, the greatest film ever.)

It's hard to imagine Taylor Swift holding some 9-to-5, dead-end office job. But in her new video for "Ours," the singer imagines what it would be like to be just another working stiff. Immediately, once I clicked play on the video, one thing came to mind: Taylor Swift must also be crazy for Melanie Griffith's classic 1988 film, "Working Girl," just like me and every other sane human being.

Taylor does her best Tess in the video by donning sneakers into the office. It’s a classic move from the film, which follows Griffith’s Tess, an ambitious secretary trying to move up the corporate ladder, who along the way beds a vintage Harrison Ford and dumps her loser boyfriend, played by Alec Baldwin. (Shout out to Sigourney Weaver and Joan Cusack for their classic performances in the film as well.)

OK, so the exact events of Taylor’s "Ours" video aren’t shot-for-shot from the Mike Nichols film, but the look Taylor rocks, specifically the sneakers she wears into the office before changing into a sensible stiletto, definitely recalls that film. The video, which also stars Zach Gilford as her soldier beau, and the way it portrays the humdrum nature of working just for working’s sake while wanting more from life total feels like "Working Girl." Now only if we could get Taylor to say, "I have a head for business and a bod for sin."

Lana Del Ray V Magazine

By Shakira Atitebi

Sexy singer Lana Del Rey, who appears in V Magazine's first-ever Music Issue, is on her way to becoming a superstar. Del Rey released her first EP, Kill Kill, in 2009 under the name Lizzy Grant (her real name is Elizabeth Grant), but things really took off after she posted a video to her song "Video Games" on YouTube in August 2011. The video has had over 10 million hits and went to number one on the charts in 9 countries, including Australia, the UK, Holland, France and Germany.

A lot has changed for this indie artist. The Lake Placid, New York, native is now recognized all over the world. "You talk about all these things that happened to me in this short space of time, but the one thing that has really changed is that I now have an audience," she tells V. "I turn up in Glasgow or Manchester or Amsterdam and there are good people waving at me from the crowd. That’s amazing.”

Del Rey appreciates her fans and the sacrifices they make just to see her, saying, "Someone showed me their ticket stub and asked me to sign it. You know how much it cost to see a show? These people really want to see me."

On Thursday, December 1, Del Rey's second official single, "Born to Die," was uploaded on YouTube and has already received a huge international response praising the song and Lana's voice. If you're in New York City, You can catch Del Ray tonight at the Bowery Ballroom.

The much-buzzed-about singer's album will be released January 31, 2012. For more on Del Rey, visit V Magazine online and check out the Music Issue on newsstands January 12. Check out more hot pics of the rising star after the jump. Read more...

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga was one of the many A-listers (if not the Mother Monster of A-listers) at the Trevor Project Live event over the weekend in Los Angeles.

At the event, she accepted her "Hero" award, telling the room, "I appreciate this award so much. But truthfully, I am not the hero. The hero is Jamey." Gaga accepted the award from the family of Jamey Rodemeyer, a Gaga fan who committed suicide 11 weeks ago. “I want my fans and people all over the world to know that there’s always somebody that’s listening," she added. "But I want them to know they’re listening before it gets too late."

During her speech on Sunday, Gaga touched on her wishes to someday make bullying a hate crime. The Born This Way foundation founder added, "I learned very long ago that my time here on this earth would not just be for pop singing because I was very blessed to have beautiful fans, like I have in Jamey, like I will always have in Jamey. Thank you so much this award tonight. This means more to me than any Grammy I could ever win."

We’ve covered quite a few diverse rock acts for Bands We Like – from the soul-powered retro pop of Fitz & the Tantrums to the always evolving musings of Dredg – and all of the groups had a stellar year in 2011. Other Lives will soon be the opening act for Radiohead, El Bronx fulfilled their own fantasy by appearing on Conan’s late night show, and The New Regime’s Ilan Rubin is now the new drummer for Tom DeLonge’s side-project, Angels & Airwaves. We’ve taken the liberty of rounding up the five bands to keep an eye on in the New Year and wonder which one you think will be the breakout act of 2012?

It’s a new week and that means that already there’s some Twitter drama brewing up. It seems that "Teen Mom" star Farrah Abraham and the eldest Kardashian sister, Kourtney, are getting all up in each other’s business on the social networking site.

It all kicked off shortly after Kourt announced that she’s preggers with her second child with longtime beau Scott Disick. Farrah had this message for the thirtysomething-year-old millionaire: "Im Shocked Kourtney Kardashian is pregnant again, Did she not learn anything from TEEN MOM? Maybe its a fake pregnancy like kims wedding SAD… Double standards in this world? Yes & guess what !age and money honestly do not change a persons poor choice . Quit making excuses:)"

To which Kourtney had this to say: "Why would I have anything to do with teen mom? I'm 32 years old! I may look young honey, but don't get it twisted. :)"

Kourtney hasn’t had much else to say, but the same can't be said of her boy, Scott, or Farrah herself. Read on to see what they had to say. Read more...

NORMAN, OKLA. – I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read that the world’s greatest party-thrower, Girl Talk, was going to be at the Opolis – a tiny venue in the college town of Norman, Oklahoma, that showcases indie acts and local bands with a capacity well below 200. This must be some kind of mistake, I thought, but just the thought of seeing such a huge act in such an intimate setting was awesome.

Turns out, Girl Talk – also known by his common name, Greg Gillis – is in the midst of a guerilla tour of sorts that is hitting up only eight college cities across the states. For the AXE One Night Only Tour 2011, Gillis is going old-school by performing secret shows in low capacity venues, announcing details of the gigs just days before show time via the AXE Facebook page (four more secret stops are scheduled for this Tuesday through Friday, so be on the lookout). Gillis treated me to a quick phone chat before the show and said this tour is a way to give back to the fans and reminisce over his pre-breakout gigs. "Prior to 2006, I would play anyplace, anytime," he told MTV News. "The circumstances did not matter."

Nicki Barbie

By Andrea Duncan-Mao

Nicki Minaj has been calling herself the "Harajuku Barbie" for the past year, and now Mattel has gotten the hint and created a one-of-a-kind Nicki Minaj Barbie doll. The doll, which will premiere this month, will be auctioned for charity, with the bidding starting at $1,000. And while we all know the curvy lady rapper has a penchant for pink, skin tight fashions and towering heels – and that she rocks Barbie jewelry and has an ever changing assortment of wigs – but looking at her outlandish style and attitude, we have decided that Roman's alter ego could also be a number of other dolls.

Bratz
The long-time line that samples style from everything from Video Vixens, collagen porn stars and I don't know, uh, Nemo, these bodacious Betties have serious attitude and outrageous get ups. Like Ms. Minaj, they love rainbow hair colors and heels. Edgier than Barbie [and oft-criticized for their hypersexualization], they roll deep. The Bratz crew are like a bachelorette party fist pumping at the club, whereas Barbie and her small circle are more like Carrie and her girls—sipping Cosmos at a roof bar.
