It’s Miami Music Week, and you know what that means – all of the world’s best DJs coming together under the hot Florida sun to showcase their skills behind the decks.
But this year, many of your favorite spin masters are coming together for a little fun on behalf of a great cause. On Wednesday (March 21) at noon, teams comprised of top DJ talent representing the Netherlands and Sweden will showcase their skills on the soccer field to face off for charity and the fight against AIDS.
Dutch captain Tiësto leads his teammates Afrojack, Nicky Romero, Quintino, Sidney Samson, R3HAB, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano against Swedish captain Sebastian Ingrosso and his teammates Alesso, Adrian Lux, Dada Life (both), AN21 and Otto Knows. The game will consist of two 30-minute periods with a ten minute break in between.
Each team will play in custom jerseys in the signature colors of their respective countries made especially for the event. At the end of the game each jersey will be signed by each player/world-famous DJ and auctioned by (RED) with all proceeds going to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa.
The game itself will be filmed, with highlights and interviews with the players going live on (RED)’s Youtube Channel next week. So even if you’re not luck enough to make it to beautiful Miami for Music Week, you can at least check out the action from afar (and maybe start planning for next year).
