Lady Gaga Natali Germonatta

They say all good things come in pairs, and in Hollywood that seems to be the case. For some, even good things come in threes (or more). The Germanottas of Manhattan seemed to have not only created the superstar known as Lady Gaga (real name Stefani G), but also a budding fashion designer, Gaga's baby sis, Natali.

Nats, a 19-year-old Parsons student, recently opened up to Teen Vogue about growing up in the G-clan. "Ever since we were kids, my parents gave us the freedom to be ourselves," she says, later joking, "Whenever I wear something crazy and my dad gives me a hard time, I say, 'Well, at least I'm not walking out on the street with red pasties,' and he'll be like, 'Good point.'"

While she's not as public as many younger sisters with famous older sisters, she has had brushes with fame. She appeared in the "Telephone" video and Gaga performed with her piano art installation on "Oprah" earlier this year. These two gals got us thinking about our favorite sisters in the biz. A lot of people blow through the MTV building, but very few get the staffers here at MTV as excited as Demi Lovato. The Unbroken singer stopped by 1515 today to perform and tape it for VH1 Top 20 Live and she made Lovatics out of everyone.

The singer blew through her repertoire with tons of vocal gusto. Clad in her Stevie Nicks best – a leopard print maxi skirt, loose fitting shirt and fedora – she looked gypsy chic as she blasted the room with her unbelievable voice. She kicked off the four-song set with a medley of "Catch Me" and "Don't Forget" from her first two albums.

It was the newer tracks from her just-released album, however, that really had the room buzzing with excitement. She played the ballad "Like A Star," and she sang with a powerhouse quality and bravado the was reminiscent of Christina Aguilera. Before launching into the track, she told the room, "I'm really, really excited to sing it for you guys. So I hope you like it." The room certainly did, giving the tune tons of applause as she closed it out. Read More...

Hey y'all! Happy Unbroken Day! Today, Demi Lovato drops her new album and it seems that critics and celebrities all pretty much love what the "Skyscraper" singing is doing on it.

So, what are the critics saying? While the New York Times seemed a bit restrained about their love for the album, they did note, "These songs do give Ms. Lovato the opportunity to present herself as an adult, not just a moppet who knows too much."

Meanwhile, the album scored an impressive B+ with the folks over at Entertainment Weekly, who added, "Clearly it's been a tough year for Lovato. But as Rihanna could tell her, sometimes bad years make great songs."

Rolling Stone focused less on the darker elements of the album, pointing out that "Unbroken is mostly sunshine and slumber-party hooks… She's grown into her voice. Now, if only her music would grow up too."

USA Today gave the album three out of four stars, noting that "By the time she hits the ballad 'Skyscraper,' a towering performance that sounds both desperate and determined, she has clearly transitioned from a teen star into a young woman worth listening to."

But it's not just the critics who have a thing or two to say about the album, it's also her celebrity pals. Like who? Read on. Read More...

john Mayer

Over the weekend, John Mayer had some bad news for his fans when he announced that he has to postpone the release of his album, Born and Raised, as well as cancel some upcoming shows.

The singer took to his Tumblr to let the world know that he has "something next to my vocal cords called a granuloma," but he wanted his fans to know the condition is "a temporary setback, though I’m not sure how long or short a period of time it will be. I’ve got the best doctors in the country looking after me and I will be singing and touring again as soon as I get the all clear. Until then I’ll be spending time writing and composing more music and kicking an empty soup can around the West Village."

Mayer will no longer be able to play the iheartradio Music Festival this week in Las Vegas or his planned show with Tony Bennett. He appears on Bennett's latest album. He went on to add, "Born and Raised is complete as far as music recording, song selection, and in some cases mixing, but because of this condition I couldn’t finish singing on several of the tracks. This means the record will be released next year instead of this fall or winter."

While we're kind of bummed to hear that it will be a little longer before we hear new music from him, we do want him to take the time to get better so that he can be at 100 percent when it is time for his new album to drop. Leave your well wishes for Mayer in the comments!

It seems some old-school footage of Lady Gaga in 2008 getting inked by Kat Von D has made its way onto the Internet. As the season finale of Kat's show "L.A. Ink" wrapped up last night, E! News decided to uncover some footage of the one and only Mother Monster, blue latex spandex and all, getting a tat from the reality star.

So we decided to dig up some footage of Gaga from back in the day as well. That's right; we're bringing you footage of Gaga getting her zipper fixed by LC and Whitney, as she prepares to take the stage. It's from the same year as the Kat footage, 2008, when Gaga was in the early stages of her world domination. And, yes, she's wearing more latex. The girl really, really likes latex. We mean, she does look good in it.

"You know Lady Gaga; we put her on 'The Hills.' Do you remember that? Nobody remembers," Kelly Cutrone told us. "MTV has got to take credit for this right now because People's Revolution put Lady Gaga on TV before anybody ... She's on there and Lauren or Whitney, I think, they break her jumpsuit and you barely see me on this episode. I was hanging in the backroom."

Don't mind if we do, Kelly. Sorry, Kat! Read More...

Justin Bieber Boyz II Men

It's a big year for Boyz II Men. The guys who brought Motown Philly back again are all over the place in 2011. They appeared in Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never" flick earlier this year, then they popped up in sample-form on Beyonce's super fantastic 4 track "Countdown" and now the guys made the cut for Bieber's forthcoming holiday album.

In addition to working with some of the biggest artists of the new millennium, the guys will also be back with their own album next month, the aptly titled Twenty, celebrating their long and prosperous run in the industry. It's out October 25.

Having grown up listening to and loving the guys, we totally appreciate Bieber's fandom for them. In fact, their new album looks to the future, but also pays homage to their past thanks to some updated versions of their classic tunes. But where was Bieber when those tracks were released? "I'm lovin' what you're doing," Demi Lovato proclaims on her latest released track, "Up All Night," off her album Unbroken, which drops in just a few days.

In addition to Demi's sassy, flirty self, the song also features Timbaland and Missy Elliott, who also produced/wrote the song for the pop princess. The track isn't bubble gum pop. It's a pure R&B party jam that would sound perfect on 90's radio.

The track's chorus is super infectious and fun. Demi tells her love interest, "Don't make plans / Come home we'll stay up all night long / I want you bad / Let's keep the party going all night long." Her vocals play well with Tim's vocoded beat box that runs through the entire track. And, Demi's sassy lyrics are only matched by Missy's sassier rhyme, where she spits lines like "You talking how I like / You play daddy, I'll play wife."

While it's certainly a step toward a more mature sound for the 19-year-old, she recently insisted to MTV News that her sound is still intended for her fans of all ages. "The song that Missy and I did together, Timbaland's actually on it, too, and it's fun," she said. "It's about staying up all night long and singing it to the boy that you like, and it's flirty and fun and it's not too grown-up, but it's grown-up enough." Read More...

This week is a big one for followers of nude photo scandals. Not only did photos of Scarlett Johansson hit the web, but there are now rumors that sexy photos of her "What Goes Around" video co-star Justin Timberlake – taken on his "Friends With Benefits" co-star Mila Kunis' phone – are floating around the world somewhere. Justin connection aside, the most surprising part of this scandal is that these two ladies, both of whom tend to keep their private lives to themselves, are actually involved with a nude photo scandal to begin with.

Over the course of the new millennium, countless celebrities have been embroiled in sex scandals, some unsurprising and some very, very surprising, and most of which have no connection to Justin T whatsoever. So, which scandals really surprised us? Read More...

Lady Gaga and her Haus, including honorary members fashion photographers Inez and Vindooh, hauled themselves to Nebraska to shoot her clip for "You and I," as well as bank a cover for Harper's Bazaar and also some character-centric fashion films based on the song and the Laurieann Gibson-directed video.

When MTV News caught up with Inez and Vinoodh, they explained all the hustle and bustle that went down in that cornfield and barn in Nebraska. "It's like she really gives so much," Inez recalled. "Sometimes we were shooting, it was like 3AM. and she's been on set forever and still you get an incredible performance – full of fire."

She added, "It was exciting, it was intense. It was 108 degrees, but it was exciting because there's so much energy. We had great people around us."

Each fashion film, including the first where she plays nymph Gaga, will focus on one of her "You and I" personas and they were all a pleasure to work with. "There wasn’t really one thing more interesting than the other," Inez added. "It's all her in her most happy moment. Making videos for her is like performance art … for her it's like making art. It’s a great exchange." Read More...

Selena Gomez

While we're pretty sure the "Justin" wrist tattoo that Selena Gomez rocked recently isn’t real, it got us thinking about the number of pop stars who have gotten tats over the years for various reasons, many of which are as personal as Selena's shout out to her boy, Justin Bieber.

Beyonce has an "IV" tattooed on her finger. Of course "IV" is the Roman numeral for "4," which just happens to be Queen B's favorite number, but we'll let her explain:

"We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me," she said earlier this year. "It's the day I was born. My mother's birthday and a lot of my friends' birthdays are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date."

Lady Gaga has a lot of tats, but only on the left side of her body. Why the left side? "All of my tattoos are on one side of my body, per my father's request," she explained. "He asked that I remain, on one side, slightly normal, so I only have tattoos on my life side." Read More...
