Kristin CavallariApparently the news that Lauren Conrad is leaving "The Hills" has left thousands of teenage girls and boys around the country in a state of mourning.

In just four years, LC has gone from the seaside resort town of Laguna Beach to becoming an international sensation as the star of MTV's hit show "The Hills." And whether or not you watch the show, it's almost impossible to find someone who hasn't at least heard the names LC, Heidi, Spencer and Audrina.

Well, it's official — after five whole seasons, "Hills" centerpiece Lauren Conrad will be replaced by frienemy Kristin Cavallari — prompting mixed reactions from fans all over the world.

So today I stepped just outside the building into Times Square to ask "Hills" fans exactly what they thought of Lauren leaving, her new replacement Kristin, and if they think the show will be better or worse without LC.

It wasn't hard to find die-hard "Hills" fans — in fact, it was really easy. From Kentucky, Florida, New York and London — we had people lining up to comment on the show and, judging by those we spoke to, LC is going to be missed. Hers are some big shoes to fill. But let me put you all at ease — one thing everyone should know is that the producers and team behind the show know exactly what they are doing and, most importantly, they know exactly what fans of "The Hills" want: drama! So don't sleep on Kristin Cavallari just yet — something tells me it's going to be an interesting season.

Earlier this week, we headed up to Chelsea, Massachusetts, for the filming of Wale's video for "Chillin," featuring the girl of the moment: Lady Gaga.

The set was a huge disused shipping yard on the banks of the Mystic River, complete with a broken-down ship, giant cranes, huge concrete blocks, wood timbers and two of the hottest new names from the worlds of hip-hop and pop.

Despite the industrial setting, everything on the video set went smoothly: After all, with veteran director Chris Robinson behind the lens, both Wale and Gaga were in safe hands. Wale brought the energy and swagger to the set, while Gaga added the finishing touches with her usual un-usual attitude and picture-perfect posing.

We'll have lots more from the set visit in the coming days, but I want to use this opportunity to put out a very serious warning ...

While I was getting changed that morning, I was thinking that the Wale video shoot might be the perfect time to break out my new black Nike Air Yeezys, but at the last minute I changed my mind and opted for a pair of dunks instead.

Lady GagaOver the weekend, MTV News' Steven Roberts and I stopped by the Lady Gaga concert at New York's Terminal 5 to catch the hottest name in pop perform in front of a packed audience of die-hard and new Gaga fans alike — oh yeah, Madonna was there as well!

Yes, the Queen of Pop had come to see (and possibly take notes about) the new pop princess, who hit the stage in a number of outfits starting with her bubble-inspired costume and closing out with a strange yellow Jetsons-inspired dress.

It was the first time I had seen the mystical Lady Gaga perform live, and I must say I was impressed from the get-go. The girl knows how to put on a show.

Tim KashSo who is winning the beef between 50 Cent and Rick Ross? Personally, I don't care: All I care about is the music. But I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't ask 50 something about this current feud.

Apart from acknowledging Ross' #1 debut, it's fair to say 50's been quiet as of late about the on-going Rick Ross rivalry. But never forget he's is one of the best strategists in the game. Whether he's moving like a juggernaut or silent like a ninja, one thing is for sure: He's always making moves.

Last week, 50 — who's currently in the middle of shooting his new film, "Twelve," in New York alongside "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford — stopped by our local Play N Trade to meet and greet a few hundred fans who were patiently waiting to get a signed copy of his new computer game, "Blood on the Sand." Gwen and ZumaFor the past five years, the music industry has been sorely missing something. That something is No Doubt.

After taking some time apart — to have babies, start families, launch a solo career and just spread their wings outside of the band they have all been in for 23 whole years — the group that captured the world's attention with a unique blend of ska/punk and rock/pop is reuniting and hitting the stage for a 55-date tour.

So early yesterday morning, the team and I hit the road to Atlantic City (in a van that only Chili Palmer could make look cool) to conduct the first interview with the whole band together in five years.

Lil WayneNEW YORK — Outside the courthouse this morning there were no screaming fans, no camera crews (aside from our own) and not a single paparazzo in sight — which was surprising, considering that the biggest name in hip-hop, Lil Wayne, was in court, appearing before a judge facing charges of gun possession.

Lil Wayne arrived at 9:15 a.m. with no entourage, accompanied only by his usual bodyguard and his attorney, Stacey Richman. With our cameras rolling, Wayne, dressed casually in dark jeans, black-framed glasses, black sweater, black sneakers and a grey jacket, made his way from his blacked-out Escalade across the street and up the steps of the courthouse. The streets were bustling with people heading to work, and not one single person noticed that the famous rapper was amongst them. Even a group of kids late to school walked right past Wayne without noticing — and by the time they saw the cameras and turned around, it was too late. Lil Wayne had enetered the building.

When news broke that Rihanna might be returning to the stage sometime soon, some people were surprised by her city of choice: Dubai. Although happy that she's moving on with her life and getting back to performing, American fans are probably wondering, "Why Dubai?"

Well, let me tell you...

The first time I visited Dubai was a few years ago when I was 18 years old. I went to see a good friend of mine who lived there and had always told me that Dubai (or "Du-bay" as he used to call it) was one of the best cities in the world. Since then ... I've been back four times. He was right!

Reason No. 1: Dubai is famously known as the entertainment and party capital of the Middle East. Take it from me, Dubai knows how to get down. There's a fine balance, though, between Dubai's strong Islamic culture and the party lifestyle. Alcohol is allowed, but you can't get too crazy. Rih might even have to go easy on the more risqué costumes for her shows. Read More...

Coldplay The U.K. might be a small island in the ocean, but we definitely had a big voice in music this past year. The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) just released some numbers, and I wanted to take a quick minute to give a big shout-out to some of the U.K.'s finest musical exports who made a splash over here in America.

For any British artist, "breaking America" is a huge deal and a very tough thing to do. There have been artists like Robbie Williams — who are hugely famous and incredibly popular back home — who come to the U.S. with the hopes and dreams to replicate that success and end up being sorely disappointed.

But then there are the newcomers that hit the music scene just last year, like "X-Factor" winner Leona Lewis, Duffy, Adele, Estelle and the Ting Tings.

According to the BPI, one in 10 albums bought in the U.S. was by a British artist. That's big. In fact, that's huge. The figures actually show that the U.K. market share rose from 8.5 percent in 2007, and in Canada, British artists accounted for almost 15 percent of album sales.

Sitting on top of the Brit Pack are, of course, one of the biggest bands in the world: Coldplay. Chris and the boys' Viva la Vida was the second best-selling album in the U.S. last year, selling more than 5 million singles, followed closely by Leona Lewis, who shifted just under 4.75 million albums — impressive.

So here's a toast to the Brit Pack. Keep it coming!

Did you miss Coldplay's Track-By-Track Tour of Viva La Vida? Check it out, after the jump!

OK, I couldn't resist. I went back to the New York International Auto Show to take another look around. No hip-hop superstar with me this time, just me, a friend and some quality time with some of the finest cars in the world. It's a lot of fun.

Cars have played a huge part in hip-hop culture since the very beginning. From Notorious B.I.G.'s "Hypnotize" (one of my favourite car-chase scenes in a music video) to the army of low-riders in "Still Dre" to one of my favourite cars ever in Jay-Z video, the Maybach Exelero Concept in "Lost Ones" — the world of hip-hop takes its car game very seriously. That's why I thought I'd give out some awards based on the swagger, style, design and power of some of this year's hottest cars. Welcome to the unofficial MTV Hip-Hop Car Awards!

The Jay-Z Award: Mercedes-Benz Maybach Zeppelin

Like Jay-Z, the Maybach Zeppelin is "official." It's the real executive choice, a true OG. It may be understated, but this car's power, sophistication and style are undeniable. The Zeppelin might look more grown-up than the rest of the younger sports cars, but with a twin-turbocharged 6.0 litre V12 engine that now delivers a massive 640 brake horsepower, don't underestimate the Zeppelin. It'll hit 60 mph from standstill in 5.0 seconds, climb all the way to 171 mph, and still look like a king on the road. The best of both worlds. What do you expect for a price tag around the $600,000 mark?

Rick RossWho has a 48-inch waist, wears a XXXXXL t-shirt and owns more sunglasses than Paris Hilton?

RICK ROSS!

For a 350-pound, 6-foot-4 bearded heavyweight, sunglasses seem like an unusual addiction to have. But Ross isn't just a fan of eyewear — he's a connoisseur. His collection numbers "in the hundreds," he said.

When we caught up with him at New York's Philippe restaurant for our interview on Wednesday, he was sporting some 24-carat-gold-plated, diamond-encrusted, custom-designed, clear-tint Cazels. Ross takes his style very seriously: He was dressed crisp, and even though his stylist had laid out three different looks, there was no need to change.
