Last week while I was in Los Angeles covering the "Idol" finale (and getting props from the recent winner), a familiar face from "The Hills" left me a message on my Facebook wall praising my other recap endeavor for MTV, "MTV Detox: The Hills." Keeping the punctuation intact, Spencer's sister wrote: "great show! great job! i love to laugh at myself- i hate when people take the show so damn serious... give me a break people! Lauren conrads job is being Lauren Conrad. i am in no way 'ruining her internship at peoples revolution' so everyone needs to calm down! thanks for making the show funny! xoxoxoxo."

First of all, I love how the only thing she capitalizes is Lauren's name, as if LC were a deity. Amazing. Second of all, how awesome is that message?! It says a lot that she has a sense of humor about herself.

Some backstory is needed for full disclosure. A few weeks ago, I apparently "friend requested" Stephanie. (I have no recollection of doing so. I must have been drunk. Why would I friend-request a "Hills" cast member when my Facebook account is posting less-than-flattering "Hills" recaps 90 percent of the time?!) It took her some time to accept my request, and when she did, it was a total shock. I actually thought that Team Detox had hacked into my Facebook account and requested the friendship behind my back.

Once she accepted my request, Joel, the awesome "Detox" PA, dared me to post that week's "Detox" recap on her wall. I thought it was a terrible idea since the episode featured an extended bit about how bad Steph was at her job, but Joel persisted and I caved in.

Next thing I know, Steph replied with that super-sweet reply. What a relief!!

So if you haven't already, check out our latest latest "Detox" recap of "The Hills." It's an especially insane one. There's time travel, alternate universes and explosions. Sort of like "Star Trek," but with no money. And we talk about "The Hills." But if Stephanie Pratt is a fan of "Detox," you should be, too.

Now that "America's Best Dance Crew" is over, Lil Mama finally got to come back home to the "Detox" house — too bad she found Jim living there.

And it seems like the only things getting made on "Making the Band" are messes and beefs, unless you're Donnie Klang, who is at least trying to make some music. So, Jim decides he wants to make his own band, featuring a gorilla and a skunk. To see if it works, check out "Detox."

Crystal Method weren't quite as hyped as Jim would have wanted them to be about "Dude Night," so it was a good thing Sway stopped by to help hip-hopify things for Jim. Before long though, it was time for Jim to get punched in the baby-maker by the "College Humor" guys. That's always funny. Right? Disagree, well we're sure there's something to make you laugh in last night's "Detox."

Day26 help Jim kill some time until the "America's Best Dance Crew" Finale Reunion Special Special kicks off. And guess who Jim got to stop by to celebrate the big finale? A bunch of people who look and (maybe) sound like the personalities "ABDC" fans have grown to love (or hate): JC Chasez, DJ Rashida and Lil Mama. Check out last night's "Detox"!

Real Worlder Chet is on a mission to be on MTV. To make his dreams come true, he also took some headshots, interviewed some band and ... magically, Kid Cudi stopped by "Detox" to help Jim with his dream of getting on MTV. Every time rapper MIMS stops by "Detox" to hang out with Jim, and Jim's mistress Babs (you know, Barbara Walters) won't leave him alone. Women! And in case you missed it, you can learn the one thing you should never tell a woman, thanks to the "From G's to Gents" crew, on last night's episode of "Detox"!

The "City" season finale is only two episodes away, and it seems like none of Whitney's friends have her back. Olivia took credit for an Elle cover that Whitney styled, and Jay is still out partying with his ex-girlfriend — which is funny, because "Detox" host Jim thought he was Jay's alibi (spoiler alert: They saw the Jonas Brothers movie!). JJim may have stumped Danity Kane/ "Making the Band" star Dawn Richard about the "College Humor Show" cast, but that's just because Dawn was too busy printing out photos of her favorite MTV star. Who might that be? Well, it's none other than "Detox" host Jim Cantiello! Dawn isn't his only fan. He gets a letter from the "Nitro Circus" crew to join them for all their crazy exploits. Does Jim do it? Find out on this week's episode of "Detox"!

I've sat next to MTV's resident pop-culture expert Jim for the last two years and from my very first day, my eyes and ears were well and truly forced open to the world of "Project Runway," "ABDC," kitsch YouTube clips, trashy blog sites and yes ... "American Idol" (thanks, Jim!).

But one thing fans of "Detox" should know about Jim is that he has an obsession greater than all the others put together: Jim Cantiello is a big animal lover.

So when I brought the latest addition to the Kash clan — my Brussels Griffon/ Yorkshire Terrier-mix puppy — into the office to meet the news team, Jim, who was busy filming the latest installment of "Detox," asked if the puppy could make a cameo on the show.

So check out the pic below of the puppy and Jim on the set of "Detox," and catch them both on the latest episode on MTV.com on Saturday night.

On Wednesday night's "Detox," Jim tries to make friends with Real Worlder Sarah by making her a lighthouse, but once again Sarah refuses his advances. It might be best for Jim that they don't become friends, because that "Real World: Brooklyn" house is a total pigsty! Plus, with friends like Bow Wow stopping by, who needs Sarah?
