The Golden Globes were back this year in a big way, and some of our favorite young stars joined their elder celebrity statesmen and -women for the festivities. From the Jonas Brothers to the "High School Musical" cast, the pop stars, small-screen beauties and blockbuster sweethearts were out in full force. So how did these fresh faces fare on the red carpet? Here is our opinion. (Click on the names for photos to refresh your memory.)

Blake Lively: Thumbs down. The "Gossip Girl" star is usually a hit on the red carpet, but this one was certainly a miss. The dress itself is beautiful, but it didn't seem to fit her and the color of the dress did not match her skin tone. Also, she could have done something with her hair. It seems this is the only style she is comfortable going for. Next time, take a risk, Blake!

The Jonas Brothers: Nick Jonas: Thumbs down. Velvet jacket, no tie — you should know better. It's the Golden Globes! Kevin Jonas: Thumbs up. Never can go wrong with a classic tux. Joe Jonas: Thumbs up. The red shirt underneath his suit was a good choice.

Miley Cyrus: Thumbs down. Even though it was age-appropriate, the dress was boring. She should have worn something with a little more color.

Vanessa Hudgens: Thumbs up and down. Big thumbs up for the dress, which fit her perfectly and was a great color for her. Thumbs down on her hair, which was a little too messy for this dress. She could have glammed it up a little bit more. But in her defense, the messy hair was the trend for the night. Right, Eva Mendes and Drew Barrymore?

Zac Efron: Thumbs up! Zac clearly knows how to dress on the red carpet. A simple suit with a skinny tie always seems to work for him.

Megan Fox: Thumbs up. The gold was a nice change for Megan Fox who we usually see in a lot of bright colors. The dress fit her beautifully and I loved those earrings.

Beyoncé: Thumbs up!! Beyoncé looked positively stunning in her gown as she and Jay-Z made a rare red-carpet appearance together. Yet, I'm not sure if too many people were looking at that dress, her necklace of diamonds definitely stole the show.

Worst Dressed:
America Ferrera: It was all wrong. The dress was not flattering on her at all and not something that should be worn to the Golden Globes, or for any award show.

Best Dressed:
Hayden Panettiere: Hayden always seems to know what to wear on the red carpet. In this purple number, she was definitely my choice for best dressed of the night!

That is just my opinion. I want to know what you think. Let us know which pop star you thought looked the best and worst on this year's Golden Globes red carpet.

You know how they say revenge is a dish best served ... in front of millions of people and your Hollywood peers?

OK, maybe that's not how that one goes, but Tina Fey proved one thing at Sunday night's Golden Globes: Liz Lemon's alter ego may be a world-famous actress/ writer/ producer/ Sarah Palin doppelgänger who makes the cover of Vanity Fair and seems to be living the dream, but she still obsesses over what anonymous hacks post about her online as much as she did about the mean girls in high school.

Fey blasted some hilarious buckshot at some of her more vocal detractors during an acceptance speech Sunday night for Best Actress in a TV Series - Comedy for her work on "30 Rock," instantly topping the night's sound-bite library by telling previously anonymous dissers BabsonLacrosse, DianeFan and Cougar Letter to "suck it!"

DianeFan didn't take it sitting down, jumping on the Los Angeles Times' "Gold Derby Forums" and blasting back, "I'm famous. She mentioned BabsonLacrosse too. Sorry Tina Fey but I still don't think you deserved to win." And, when told she was totally pwned by Fey in front of millions by another poster, she defended herself by saying, "I don't think I'm a clown at all."

According to Gawker, this turf battle has been brewing for months, as DianeFan (who used to be known as "cougar-letter") and BabsonLacrosse have been tossing grenades at the bespectacled TV dynamo since the former "Saturday Night Live" star returned to her old stomping grounds for her now-infamous take on former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

"I think there are lots of choices other than Tina. Megan Mullally, Sarah Silverman, Teri Hatcher, Shannen Doherty," DianeFan reportedly posted in September. " ... Not everyone has to think that Tina Fey is the be-all and end-all. ... I simply think all of those actresses have some spunk in them that could work."

A month later, the knives really came out, when, posting as Cougar-letter, she wrote that Fey would make a "dreadful host" for the Oscars and came back several weeks later on the official "30 Rock" season-three thread that "Tina Fey was simply like the pimple on my face — just there."

But things got really vicious in December, after the Globe nominations were announced. The disgruntled poster opined, "I just hope they give the win to anyone but Tina Fey. Boy, I can't wait until Edie Falco comes back on the scene just to wipe that smug look off Tina's face."

And though BabsonLacrosse (who now goes as KateWinsGG) has not been as harsh, praising Fey as one of the "2 best comedic actresses on TV right now" when the Globe nominations were announced, she did agree with DianeFan in January when she posted, "Fey, if she wins, might as well start thanking Sarah Palin, because while I like Fey on '30 Rock,' she's certainly won enough for it as of now."

Tina, a bit of unsolicited advice: In the future, do what I do when my editor insists on a story "RIGHT NOW!!!" Ignore, ignore, ignore.

You know how everyone always talks about how insane and mind-bogglingly surreal awards-show red carpets are? As the long-time king of camp cynicism, I was ready to chalk all that up as just more Ryan Seacrest hyperbole (not everything can be that amazing, can it?).

I stand corrected. Last night was my first tangle with the Golden Globes carpet. (Oscar-nominated director Stephen Daldry: "Aw, you're a virgin!") And dare I say it? It was a draw. Here, now, are some of the shenanigans that transpired. Relive it with me, why don't you?

» In my seven-second interview with Mickey Rourke, I got him to talk "Iron Man 2" for the first time. Sort of. That was only to be outdone by my "interview" with Angelina Jolie. Total words uttered by Angie? One. That's all you need when you're one half of Brangelina.

» An amazing series of blow-offs and blown kisses. (They are strikingly similar as it turns out!) Apparently, the Jonas Brothers are too cool for us. On the other hand, give Isla Fisher credit. I've never seen a celeb look so shattered at not having time to stop. And best of all, Danny Boyle loves me. He really loves me!

» Debra Messing's sage Globes dos and don'ts. Listen to her! It was her eighth year in a row.

» Aaron Eckhart saying more with a laugh than anyone else on the carpet. (Two-Face may yet live!)

» "Tron" sequel star Olivia Wilde (am I the only one that remembers Fox's "90210"-meets-porn-industry drama, "Skin"?) telling me we're basically family when I told her my brother wrote her upcoming flick.

» Oscar winner Sam Mendes comparing beards with me. (Point for me: He said he preferred mine. Point for him: He's married to Kate Winslet.) Oh, and he spilled a lot on why he wants to do "Preacher"!

» Ron Howard working some "Arrested Development" damage control on behalf of Michael Cera.

I'm pooped. The MTV Movies team is off to Sundance in less than 72 hours, so why don't you take a turn now: What was your favorite Golden Globes red-carpet moment?

Bruce Springsteen may have gotten some major love at the Golden Globes last night, but he wasn't the only musician who helped make "The Wrestler" such an amazing movie. As Mickey Rourke reminded everyone during his acceptance speech for Best Actor, fellow bad boy Axl Rose provided "Sweet Child O' Mine" at a severely discounted price.

Rourke "Wrestler" director Darren Aronofsky recently stopped by the MTV News offices to talk about the movie, and told us a bit about how they managed to get the GNR song. ...

Of course, this isn't the first time Rourke has given Axl and GNR their due props: There is a shout-out in "The Wrestler" itself when Randy "The Ram" Robinson (Rourke) and his stripper friend Cassidy (Marisa Tomei) are hanging out at a bar listening to '80s metal:

Randy : They don't make 'em like they used to.
Cassidy: F---in' '80s, man, best sh-- ever !
Randy: Bet yer a--, man, Guns N' Roses rules!

For more from our sit-down with Rourke and Aronofsky, check back in later this week for our full Rough Cut!
