It's been done to Miley, it's been done to the Jonas Brothers — it was only a matter of time before Madame Tussaud got her waxy hands on Zac Efron.

The Disney star's wax figure was unveiled today at the Madame Tussauds in New York. The museum chose to portray "Wax" Efron in his role of basketball-playing Troy Bolton, complete with Spalding ball, red Wild Cat uniform and team sneakers. The figure also sports a brace on his left leg, which I don't remember from the "High School Musical" movies, but that might just be me.

Fans were on hand to pose with the team captain, who, by the way, did not lose any arm definition in the transformation. While it seems Zac's signature locks are beyond re-creation, his long-lashed blue eyes are nearly spot on. Check out more photos of the waxed Zac from the unveiling.

We constantly get asked what it's like to hang out at the mecca of music and pop culture. We've decided to show you what it's really like to be an intern in the MTV Newsroom. It may be cool, but it's probably not what you expect.

So, we came up with the idea (thanks to some encouragement from Sway!) to deliver a weekly video blog documenting our time here at 1515 Broadway in Times Square.

Besides working alongside Sway, Kim Stolz and Tim Kash, we are exposed to just about anything and everything. This week alone, we had the chance to catch up with Asher Roth, Keri Hilson and Ashley Tisdale! But it's not all glitz and glam. In the coming weeks, you'll see everything from mundane tasks to how we help make some newsroom magic.

There are eight of us this semester, living our dreams and loving every second. Before you check out our first segment (warning: It's a work in progress!), we thought we should let you know who we are.

Confession time: I love "High School Musical." You do too. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. And for die-hard "HSM" fans, recent news that the franchise will officially return to television is bittersweet.

Yes, East High will live on, but could it possibly be the same without singing sweethearts Troy and Gabriella? Remember "Grease 2" (sans John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John)? Or "Saved by the Bell: The New Class"?

Yeah, it won't be the same. But fear not, Wildcat fans, Ashley, Corbin, Vanessa and Zac all have new projects on the horizon. It's a pivotal time for the principal castmembers — will they forge on to futures full of successful albums and blockbuster movies, or will they forever be known as those Disney musical kids?

Well, we've got the rundown on when and where you'll see them next.

Ashley Tisdale: She's traded in Sharpay's blingy outfits and blond locks for a darker 'do and an edgier image. Tisdale's new single, "It's Alright, It's OK," will reportedly drop any day now. The star has said her upcoming album will have a rock-ish vibe and show her sexy side. Her latest action-adventure movie, "They Came From Upstairs," will hit theaters this summer.

Corbin Bleu: The curly haired sidekick just turned the ripe old age of 20, but it doesn't look like he's slowing down anytime soon. Bleu's new album, Speed of Light, drops next Tuesday.

Vanessa Hudgens: Forget "New Moon," Hudgens is reportedly set to star in "Watchmen" director Zack Snyder’s new flick, the 1960s-based fantasy "Sucker Punch." It's not confirmed, but according to EW.com, Vanessa could be joining Amanda Seyfried, Abbie Cornish, Evan Rachel Wood and Emma Stone for the all-female film.

Zac Efron: We all know the franchise would be nothing without a certain blue-eyed heartthrob. But aside from being, like, super dreamy, Zac is setting out to prove he's got staying power. Efron will star in "17 Again," out next month. Though "Me and Orsen Welles," a more serious film co-starring Claire Danes, still has no release date (and might not ever make it out of film-festival limbo), Zac scored brownie points with critics for his performance in the film. Oh yeah, and there's that "Footloose" remake.

When MTV News caught up with "High School Musical" star Lucas Grabeel to talk all things Pop Week, he shared with us his passion for filmmaking. He also shared a few anecdotes about his experiences making short films and music videos for the songs he's written over the past few years.

Two music videos he spoke to us about were "You Got It," which he wrote for "High School Musical 2," and "Get Your Ass On." The video for "You Got It" was shot by Lucas and a bunch of his friends while they were on vacation in Europe. "We just shot everywhere. It turned out to be really cool," our Male Pop Rookie said about the experience. "We got from the top of the Eiffel Tower to a Prince concert in London. It was pretty cool."

The other music video was for "Get Your Ass On," which he also shot with a group of friends, but this time in a hotel room while he was hard at work on the film "The Adventures of Food Boy."

Meanwhile, he's also worked on two short films called "Smoke Break" and "The Real Son," and he reveals that he likes to work behind the camera. "I really love producing," he said. "Seeing the project from start to finish. I'm an idea man. I like putting people together, establishing relationships and telling a story with several different mediums."

As we here in the newsroom are drowning in "High School Musical 3" hype, we'd like to look back to a quieter time, more precisely, to April 2002, when future heartthrob Zac Efron was just 14 years old. The Arroyo Grande, California, native hadn't even left middle school, but he was getting his first press, in the San Luis Obispo Tribune.

Decked out in a blue recycling bag, cowboy hat and fake goatee Zac was photographed as part of a group of students getting ready to perform a skit for a competition in Knoxville, Tennessee. Can't you just see his potential?

He recently spoke with the Tribune about how his life has changed since he took that picture six years ago. "What a weird deal," Zac said. "I never would have expected it. I call home, and we laugh about all this craziness."

Although he's already grown quite a bit from a garbage-bag-wearing middle school student actor, to the star of Disney's most successful movie franchise, it still isn't enough for Efron. "I'm always searching for that project that's just out of reach," he told the paper. "But I think that's important. I want to continue to challenge myself and continue to diversify and play different roles. It would be great to do something next that people wouldn't necessarily expect of me."

Our advice, Zac? Don't ever forget where you come from — even if you used to wear plastic bags and cowboy hats!

MTV News recently had two chances to interview the hot young actors from "High School Musical 3: Senior Year." And although they had some interesting and insightful things to say both times around, we have to admit that some of the cast said things that sounded awfully familiar.

For instance, when asked in one interview about her future plans, Ashley Tisdale said this about "They Came From Upstairs," her upcoming film: "It's an action comedy, and I get to have my first action scene. It was a lot of fun, and I want to do more action scenes. It was very exciting."

Then, when we caught up with her again less than a week later, we wanted her to elaborate a bit more on the film. Her elaboration was nearly the same as her initial explanation: "It's an action comedy, and I had my first action scene in it, so it's pretty exciting."

We also wanted to know how awesome it was for Vanessa Hudgens to work with longtime beau Zac Efron. "We have the most amazing time," she told us. "I think with the entire cast as well. We are all so close. I think we'd like to keep that door open to do another project together."

When we tried again to get her to talk about it, she dodged the bullet in the same exact way: "It's a lot of fun. The entire cast is my close friends, and we all grew up together, and we have an amazing time every time we get together. It's a blast."

Vanessa also wanted to reiterate in both interviews how edgy her new film, "Bandslam," is going to be. In interview one, she said, "I just recently did a movie called 'Bandslam,' which is a lot of fun. It's a little bit more rock and roll, and at the very end, I get to come out with my Flying V [Gibson guitar] and have my rock-out moment, so it's fun. It's different."

It sounded awfully similar to the description she fed us only a few days before: "It's really exciting for me. It's a different kind of movie. It's a little but more rock and roll," she said. "I get to play a character who's very different. She's a lot darker and more deadpan. She comes out in the end with a Flying V, and she gets to have her fun."

As this looooong presidential campaign has constantly reminded us, talking points are forever.

Some rumors you hear and think, "There's no way that's true." One recent rumor that falls under that category is one making the rounds about about "High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale, who is currently in Salt Lake City, Utah, filming "High School Musical 3."

According to UsMagazine.com, a spokesperson for Tisdale has dismissed online reports that the singer had been diagnosed HIV-positive, calling the rumors "completely untrue." The rumor picked up speed last week, when a Web site claimed Tisdale had contracted the disease during rhinoplasty procedure last year.

The erroneous report alleged that a spokesman for the hospital said in a statement, "Ashley and her family are trying to come to terms with this horrible development. They only ask that you pray for Ashley's health and to please respect their privacy as the family decides on the next course of action." The hospital has since told Us that the statement did not originate from them.
