That question has been on the mind of every Led Zeppelin fan since the iconic band played a single reunion set last year at London's O2 Arena. And throughout pretty much all of 2008, we've debunked countless rumors regarding a full Led Zep reunion run. It seems there's been at least one rumor popping up per month, intimating that the classic rockers would be staging their return — with frontman Robert Plant swooping in each and every time to crush everyone's hopes by shooting down those rumors.

At this point, Plant's made it more than obvious he doesn't want any part of a Led Zeppelin reunion trek. But apparently, that's not stopping the rest of the band from moving on with their plans.

This week, following Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider's recent unsubstantiated remarks [— that guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham were practicing with Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy and that they'd be hitting the road with him behind the microphone — comes more evidence that Led Zep could be coming to an arena near you in the not-so-distant future without Plant (in much the same way Queen toured in recent years with Bad Company's Paul Rodgers filling in for the late Freddie Mercury).

According to the BBC, Jones recently told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant, possibly even for a new LZ LP. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there." But Jones said that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone.

"It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be on board."

Of course, Jones didn't mention any names or confirm that the band's been jamming with Kennedy in recent months. Others rumored to have been considered for the job include Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, ex-Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, Van Halen's erstwhile frontman Sammy Hagar and White Stripes mastermind Jack White. A source close to Led Zeppelin has told MTV News that these rumors are just that and that "nothing has been confirmed at all. There's been no talk of a Zeppelin tour!"

It's one of the crazier rumors we've ever heard here in the MTV News offices (and we hear crazy rumors all the time) and, so far, it's been impossible to confirm or disprove, because no one involved is talking — not on the record, at least.

It involves Led Zeppelin — who returned to the live stage last December, for a single performance in London — launching a full-scale reunion tour, which means it probably isn't true at all, given what frontman Robert Plant recently said.

"It's both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward," Plant told the U.K. press, following the publishing of an article intimating that Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, ex-Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell and Van Halen's erstwhile frontman Sammy Hagar could replace him on a Zeppelin reunion run. "I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects."

But, is it possible that by "future projects" Plant was hinting at Page, Jones and Bonham staging a global jaunt under the Led Zep banner, without Plant behind the microphone? Perhaps — and if the rumor ended there, with Grohl, Cornell, or even Hagar taking over, we could maybe see how some might fall for it. We still wouldn't believe it, but we could see how some might.

The latest rumor, however, involves Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge handling vocal duties on a Zeppelin tour. What makes the rumor — which I've spent the better part of two days trying to confirm — even harder to believe is the source: Twisted Sister's Dee Snider, who recently spilled the beans to MuchMusic.

Snider — whose only connection to Zeppelin is a shared manager with Plant — claims that Page, Jones and Bonham have been rehearsing with Kennedy, and that they're ready to hit the road. Snider claims the three told Plant, "We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Kennedy]. And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin. And they're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in."

Of course, Kennedy is not available for a five-minute phone interview, and Snider's people haven't gotten back to me. But a source close to Led Zeppelin — who spoke to me on condition of anonymity — said, "They are just rumors. Nothing has been confirmed at all. There's been no talk of a Zeppelin tour!"

What do you think? Could these rumors be true? And, if they are, and Kennedy takes over for Plant on a Zeppelin reunion tour, would you still get tickets? Would it be a true LZ reunion without Plant? Let us know by commenting below.

Robert Plant has had it. The once and apparently just-once-again frontman for rock godheads Led Zeppelin is sick and tired of people talking about the could-be-should-be-but-probably-isn't reunion tour that many reports claim is in the works for the group.

After English tabloid The Sun ran a story last week that the group has agreed to a reunion tour (if you're counting, that's at least the sixth time we've heard that rumor in the past six months), Plant put out a statement definitively denying it. According to BBC News, Plant said he will not hit the road with anyone for at least two years after he finishes his current string of dates with bluegrass star Alison Krauss, which wraps up on October 5.

"Contrary to a spate of recent reports, Robert Plant will not be touring or recording with Led Zeppelin," the statement said. "Anyone buying tickets online to any such event will be buying bogus tickets." Zeppelin played a one-off reunion gig in London in December in honor of late friend and Atlantic Records mogul Ahmet Ertegun, their first live show in 19 years. More than 20 million people tried to register for the 20,000 available seats.

"It's both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward," Plant said in the statement. "I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and [replacement drummer] Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects."

Here's the thing. I'm sure the Spice Girls reunion tour was lovely. I imagine the costumes were really shiny, skimpy and complicated. The energy was SOOOOO HIGH!!!!! The lady-love was off the charts. Hell, the music may have even been decent or whatever.

To be honest, I've never heard of the Vodafone Live Music Awards — though it sounds like something that might be held at a grimy Irish pub in London — but apparently the Girls were voted Best Live Return at said awards last night.

Normally that wouldn't even merit a mention in these august pages, but they happened to win out over — how do I put this delicately? — Led freakin' Zeppelin. No disrespect to the Spicers, but I'm going to assume the Vodafone folks had some static on the line when they decided to dis what was likely the most anticipated (and lauded) rock and roll reunion show of our lifetime. To be fair, the Girls also beat out James and the Verve, which I'm willing to deal with (though if you haven't heard "Love Is Noise" and "Valium Skies" off the Verve's reunion album, go check them out). But Led Zeppelin?

Only one of the Girls, Emma Bunton, bothered to show up to collect the shiny bauble, and BBC News quoted her as saying she was "a bit shocked" to beat Zeppelin. Shocked? Really? "The thing is," she explained, "when you go to a gig, you go for fun and entertainment and a night out. And that's exactly what we did, and I think that's why people enjoyed it so much." Well, there you go.

Just to give you sense of what kind of night it was, Primal Scream, who are apparently still together, won both Best Live Act and Outstanding Contribution to Live Music, beating out the Verve, the Kaiser Chiefs and Muse in the live-act category. I'm not sure if you've seen Muse lately, but their show is kind of like a spaceship landing on another spaceship inside a gigantic Terrordome filled with flashing lights. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Primal singer Bobby Gillespie can still stand upright, for the most part. This is almost as big a crime as the Spice bomb, akin to giving the 2009 Best Rap Album Grammy to LL Cool J over Lil Wayne (no offense, LL, but c'mon).

What do you think? Did the Spice Girls deserve to win over Zeppelin?

There's nothing more exciting than a day at the amusement park. Even as an adult, you still get those butterflies in your stomach thinking about the possibility of riding the marquee roller-coaster.

That roller-coaster for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina's Hard Rock Park would be "Led Zeppelin: The Ride," and let's just say it's one of the most state-of-the-art rides in the business. The other attractions include a music museum and the British Invasion side of the park, which has a London theme and plenty of rock paraphernalia.

I have to say, though, one of my favorites is the Rock and Roll Museum, where you can find plenty of music trivia, celebrity mementos and historical facts as well. I was very fortunate to be escorted through the park by Steve Goodwin, which meant I found out everything there is to know about building an amusement park.

The night I was there ended perfectly with rock legends the Eagles playing one of my all time favorites, "Hotel California"! If you ever get a chance and you are a music lover, make sure you visit.
