Weezy and Drake are sounding priceless together on tracks right about now. They're two of my favorite MCs to hear spar with each other on the track. "Successful" (also featuring Trey Songz) could be a hit if they push that button, and that "Ignant Sh--" freestyle (over the beat from Jay-Z's "Ignorant Sh--") is definitely still one of my favorite joints right now ("I'm so high I can vomit on a comet"). Props to the DJs for finally playing it on the mixshows. Wayne's verse is merciless: "I'll take probation/ I don't want the T.I. and Vick vacation."

Just this February, the MTV News cameras traveled to that very practice facility as part of our Dallas Week shoots. As a faithful New York Giants fan, I joked with my friends that I was going into "enemy territory." The Boys and the G-Men have one of the top rivalries of their division, and all of football, period. But when we were there, the Cowboys staff — especially Scott Agulnek in public relations — immediately made fellow Giant fan Nick Neofitidis (our camera man), Senior Producer Rahman Dukes and me feel right at home. They were gracious, forthcoming and couldn't have been more welcoming. We went to the weight room, the TV studio, the locker room and ultimately the practice field that was hit so hard by the storm.

They were so kind, we even joked about calling a truce until football season started as I shot a standup for our Mixtape Monday segment. There was something surreal about standing on the same field where one of my all-time favorite players Dion Sanders had run up and down.

Once again, I speak for me my whole crew in wishing the entire Cowboys organization mental and physical recovery from this horrible tragedy.

You can count record sales, concert tickets, the spins on a single, how many diamonds your favorite rapper has in his change, but one thing you can't mathematically measure is an artist's passion for the game. That's why DJ Drama still does for the streets despite his arrest in a mixtape raid last year. That's why Rick Ross and Young Jeezy still do it, alongside their quests for multi-platinum plaques. That's why 50 Cent and the G-Unit still do it, despite all their fame and wealth. Even the legends with nothing left to prove — such as Nas and LL Cool J, who are heralded as two of the greatest rappers ever — still catered to the streets this year. It's all for the love of the game.

Earlier, we highlighted some our favorite mixtapes and Mixtape Monday segments from 2008, and our awards, which gave props to people we felt were the standard bearers in hip-hop, from the underground circuit to the mainstream. Of course, as much as we wanted to, we couldn't shout every single person who did their thing. You had questions and comments about the awards, and so did our big homie Sway.

Swizzy (we can call Sway that — that's our fam!) gathered us together, and we had one of those family talks about the awards, and where we see hip-hop going in '09. Check it out!

We in the Newsroom are still reeling from the National Enquirer report (if you can call it such) that Patrick Swayze has five weeks 'til he himself is Swayze (or ghost, or dead, from pancreatic cancer). THE MAN IS HIS OWN HIP-HOP SLANG WORD, how could we not be upset??

But who comes along to alleviate our sadness, for a few minutes at least? It's the Bishop Magic Don Juan, of course. He wants to save Britney Spears, and all he wants is 33-minutes of her time. The personal plea is endearing but we are crazy curious to know what he will do with that 33-minutes?!?!? He is, it seems, very serious.

On Monday, S-Dot and Rah Dukes, the boys who bring you Mixtape Monday, will have the exclusive conversation with the Bishop on his latest altruistic mission. Personally, we cannot wait.
