Here's my take on the lineup for Coachella 2012,

At least it's not the <a href=http://guestofaguest.com/los-angeles/coachella/coachella-2012-rumors-our-thoughts-on-that-leaked-lineup" target="_blank">fake one that was making the rounds in November.

Back then, the rumored headliners were No Doubt, Foo Fighters and Radiohead, with acts like Chris Cornell, Feist and LMFAO (!) on the sub-ledger. It was a pretty good guess (I mean, they got Radiohead), but would have made for a pretty bland weekend … which is why it comes as a great relief that the actual Coachella lineup does not feature a single member of Berry Gordy's extended family. Instead, we get headliners the Black Keys, the aforementioned Radiohead and the double-bill of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg — all solid, all worth the price of admission and all filling various slots (the new kings of rock, the established, professorial legends and, uh, the hip-hop act) — and an undercard that ranks amongst the best in the fest's history.

Of course, the usual suspects are all accounted for (Bon Iver, Beirut, the Shins, Florence and the Machine, Justice, et al), but it's the spate of reunited acts — always a Coachella tradition — that really makes this year's edition truly special: Britpop titans Pulp, the gauzy, gorgeous Mazzy Star, doomy instrumentalists Godspeed You! Black Emperor and a pair of proto-punk stalwarts — art-damaged Texas thrusters At The Drive In and Sweden's Refused, who, with their oddly prescient 1998 album The Shape Of Punk To Come, basically predicted the next ten years of angular, angsty rock — all of whom elevate Coachella 2012 to can't-miss status.

There's also the Arctic Monkeys, M83, Noel Gallagher (and his High Flying Birds), Jeff Mangum, Cat Power, Girls, Tim Armstrong and Jimmy Cliff, Frank Ocean and the Horrors … all of whom I would (or have) pay good money to see on their own. And sure, purists may point to the overabundance of fist-pumping dance acts on the bill — Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, Kaskade, Avici, etc — as evidence of Coachella's downfall, but, hey, at least they represent fest organizers' attempts to reflect the current state of popular music, and perhaps even forecast the future. Coachella can't always be about nostalgia, after all.

So, yes, I'm pumped. Yes, I will be there. And even if you have reservations about this year's Coachella (too many DJs! too boring headliners!) at least you can take solace in the fact that the undercard packs a serious, once-in-a-lifetime wallop. And absolutely no LMFAO. Small victories, people.

By Zachary Swickey

Many Radiohead fans have been scratching their heads wondering when the experimental group plans on hitting the road for their first proper tour following the release of their last album, King of Limbs, which came out way back in February. Well, rest easy folks, because the group has finally shed some light on their future touring plans.

Talking to Britain’s BBC 6Music, Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien revealed the band will be on the road for the majority of 2012. “We’re finalizing dates now, we’ll be on the road from the end of February to November and we’ll be playing in both the UK and US, the usual ports of call,” he said.

The usual ports of call indeed, as Radiohead’s scant appearances since KOL’s release have been a pair of much-hyped club shows in New York City and a semi-surprise gig at this year’s Glastonbury Music Festival. O’Brien then elaborated on the set list concert-goers can expect, saying, “Last time we went out it was In Rainbows and a greatest hits. It’s not going to be like that this time. It’s going to be predominantly from this record and the last one and then we’ll see which songs fit around that.”

O’Brien also mentioned that the their entire European tour will be an indoor affair, as they felt the new material demanded such a setting following their festival experience this summer. “Outdoor gigs can be great, but the sound can get diluted," he said. "You’re at the mercy of the elements and I think the record demands a space where the music is loud, strong, and detailed.

No word on dates for the trek just yet, but here’s to hoping you’ve already seen “Idioteque” live.

By Steven Roberts

Once upon time, a Radiohead television appearance would’ve been big news here at MTV News. No, I won’t be beating that old drum in this blog post because that was totally like 15 years ago and the kids are f**king with "Twilight," Demi Lavato and Skrillex these days. Thankfully, I’m too old for that (the tender age of 26) and I’m still psyched every time I see Thom Yorke and the gang on TV and/or the Interwebs.

Last night, the band stopped by "The Colbert Report’s" Dr. Pepper Flavor Zone to talk and laugh – albeit in that aloof yet awkward Radiohead kind of way – about everything from their humble beginnings as school mates to the pros and cons of releasing their music independently. The group revealed that they had no plans to release a Christmas album, much to Steve Colbert’s chagrin – Colbert readily shares that he won a Grammy for his Christmas album, “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All” – and were steadfast about their distaste of big corporations. Afterward, the group performed an unreleased track titled “The Daily Mail.”

Radiohead also performed a number of tracks from their newest release, “King of Limbs,” as well as my personal favorite Radiohead song, “The National Anthem” from 2000’s “Kid A.” Unfortunately these performances didn’t air, but they are all available on Colbert’s website along with an interview between Colbert, Yorke and Ed O’Brien about global warming.

And if their appearance on "Colbert" wasn’t enough for your Radiohead fix, the band performed on "Saturday Night Live" last weekend (see it here) and will be performing Wednesday and Thursday evening at New York’s Roseland Ballroom. Tickets are sold-out, but don’t let that stop you.

Kanye West may be hyping himself as the Michael Jordan of the rap world, but we've got some news for you, Yeezy — you might not even be the MJ of songs with "Paranoid" in the title. With yesterday's viral release of West's official (not leaked) version of his "Paranoid" music video and the Jonas Brothers' new hit single of the same name, we decided to take a look back at some other artists who were feeling the nervous vibe long before Kanye and the JoBros. Yes, Radiohead, Garbage and Black Sabbath did the paranoia-themed vid first. But who did it best? Let's take a look:

Kanye West - "Paranoid"
We have to admit, when the first version of the video leaked, we weren't that impressed. But the final cut finds Kanye in his true form, delivering a high-concept music video that feels more like a piece of art than anything else, and the black-and-white clip even guest-stars Rihanna as a disturbed vixen in the midst of a nightmare. In the song, Kanye advises his lady to quit worrying about "the wrong things," but there's nothing wrong with this clip. Kudos to Kanye for the old-school film noir vibe — we're digging it.

Jonas Brothers - "Paranoid"
This video follows the JoBros video formula we've come to know and love: There's the inevitable performance setup, Nick gets the girl, and all three boys get to show off their acting skills. In the clip, Joe inexplicably wanders into a wrestling ring, Kevin freaks out when he's thrown into a room full of his clones (wouldn't anyone?) and Nick finds himself in a car chase in the desert with a hot blonde. Wait — the whole thing was just a dream ... or was it? We give props for cool special-effects but, come on guys, the dream sequence bit is a little played out.

Black Sabbath - "Paranoid"
With its 1970s psychedelic feel, this vid is a classic. The song is one of the most iconic, kick-ass rock jams of all time and, let's face it: Black Sabbath's version is totally the original "Paranoid." Plus, it's pretty damn cool to see former frontman Ozzy Osbourne rocking out in his prime. We give it an A for the groovy colors and the Sabbath's awesome delivery of this metal masterpiece.

Radiohead - "Paranoid Android"
We're not sure where to start with this one. The video is all kinds of confusing and totally tripped us out. Based on a famous Swedish cartoon, the animated clip features cartoonized versions of Thom Yorke and the boys and a story line we couldn't quite keep up with. The main characters of the clip set out on a journey where they get flashed by a random lady and have an even more random encounter with the president of France (we think). What? Who cares? The song is awesome.

Garbage - "I Think I'm Paranoid"
This song was one of the band's biggest successes and the video sure doesn't disappoint. The black-and-white clip fits the song perfectly and mainly features frontwoman Shirley Manson unleashing her anger to the camera as her bandmates do their own thing. There's lots of yelling, cool effects and a shot of Manson eating her own fist. What more could you ask for?

Winner: OK, OK Kanye — maybe you are that good. We won't go so far as to say the song trumps any of the classics on the list but, as for the video, we'll give you this one for style and originality — and for the gratuitous Rihanna eye-candy. Thank you and you're welcome.

What do you guys think? Is Kanye's video the best of the bunch? Sound off below!

How many of you guys are going to the surprise Radiohead show tonight!? Oh wait, never mind. It was canceled earlier this week, just in time for you not to hear about it.

On Tuesday, Radiohead was set to announce tonight's secret show at the Chicago Theater, but Thom Yorke apparently got sick and the gig was axed. The band decided instead to save its energy for Friday's headlining slot at Lollapalooza.

The Thursday show, which was being organized by the band itself and not Lollapalooza promoters C3 Presents, would have been the official launch of Radiohead's North American tour with all the show's proceeds going to charity.

Sucks for die-hard Radiohead fans who can't wait an extra day, but I'm sure their set will kick ass on Friday.

Stay tuned this weekend as MTV News gives you complete coverage of this year's Lollapalooza, with news and interviews from all your favorite bands. And if you're going to the show, help us cover it by uploading your photos and stories to YouRHere.

We at MTV News are pretty excited about the nominees for the 2008 Mercury Prize — and not just because the award recognizes some of the best albums to come out of the U.K. and Ireland. It's also because we've been on a lot of these artists for ages (that's the sound of us patting ourselves on the back!).

When James Montgomery isn't channeling Matt Pinfield on "FNMTV," one of the artists on his beat is Radiohead: He's covered just about everything surrounding the release of the Mercury-nominated In Rainbows. From the album's pay-what-you-want digital release to the innovative video for "House of Cards," he's been there. He has even found time to cover their eco-friendly water bottles.

Earlier this year, we highlighted Estelle as one of our "Alternatives in '08." The West London R&B songstress is nominated for her album Shine. She made some noise with her single "American Boy," featuring Kanye West, and appears on the cover of this month's Fader. She also spoke to us about the "Move Your Lips" campaign, which raises AIDS awareness around the world.

John Norris also found the time to sit down with the Last Shadow Puppets — the side project of Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner and the Rascals' Miles Kane is nominated for The Age of the Understatement LP. Turner's Monkeys are pretty much nominated every year (2006 Mercury Prize winner for Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not and last year's runner-up with Favourite Worst Nightmare), so I'm sure John just had a hunch.

Here's a complete list of the nominees:

Adele - 19
British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music?
Burial - Untrue
Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid
Estelle - Shine
Last Shadow Puppets - The Age of the Understatement
Laura Marling - Alas I Cannot Swim
Neon Neon - Stainless Style
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss - Raising Sand
Portico Quartet - Knee-Deep in the North Sea
Radiohead - In Rainbows
Rachel Unthank & the Winterset - The Bairns

I get it, Lollapalooza. There are only so many slots in a 12-hour day to cram in 100 bands. And I'm not hating on having to choose between Bang Camaro and K'naan, or splitting the difference on Uffie and Jamie Lidell, because, frankly, I couldn't care less about any of them. And I'm even willing to forgive having to choose between Gnarls Barkley and Girl Talk. And Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings or the Toadies is a slam dunk, no offense Toad-heads.

But come Saturday and Sunday night, you're seriously killing me. The daily schedules are finally here, and I get that all air traffic is being cleared to give Radiohead some radio silence for their headlining slot on Friday night. They've earned it — and frankly, who wants to go up against them anyway, right?

But Saturday night? I'm going to have to choose between watching Kanye West land his egogalactic mother ship in his hometown on the shores of Lake Michigan and walking a mile across Grant Park to see Nine Inch Nails unleash a toxic bile spill on the other main stage. That ain't right. Sure, I've seen NIN a few times and I haven't seen the Kanye show yet (the local date here got canceled due to, um, "production" issues), but both promise to be spectacles on a par with last year's totally bananas Daft Punk set.

And Sunday's not much better: The reunited Rage Against the Machine are up against one of my favorite bands (another Chicago-bred act), Wilco. Unless you're a music geek like me, that's not really a hard one, since the bands are different sides of the rock coin. But still, who doesn't want a bit of sweaty-torso bro-thrash mixed with a palate-cleansing bowl of spidery guitar noodle soup? It's just not fair.

Other than those colossal musical Sophie's Choices (oh, and putting the Black Lips on one of the main stages at noon on Friday — c'mon, that's just mean), I'm cool with the rest of the roster choices.

But I can't help wondering how Iron and Wine leader Sam Beam's pastoral acoustic reveries will go over on the Bud Light stage at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, just a few hours before the NIN crowd begins to descend on the area like a drunken black cloud of hormones and terrorist fist jabs. Considering this recent bottling of Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, I'd suggest you bring a helmet, Sam.

Are you feeling conflicted? Tearing your hair out choosing between Booka Shade and DeVotchKa? Tell us about it.
