FROM BUZZWORTHY: Around the beginning of March, there was a great and mighty gasp heard 'round the Tokiosphere when, on top of his new black-and-white dreads that replaced his signature lion’s mane, Bill Kaulitz revealed another brand-new look. Gone were the kohl-ringed, heavily lined (and lined… and lined… and lined again) cat eyes, pale lips and matte skin. In their place, Bill revealed a rust-colored smoky eye, glossy lips and skin that shined in all the right places in all the right ways.

A little more than a week ago, Tokio Hotel's official U.S. fan club was abuzz with news that lead singer Bill Kaulitz had a new, large tattoo on his side (OMG, badass!) — but no one had gotten a clear look at what it was.

So, after Kim Stolz finished eating Halloween candy with the guys, she asked for a peek and seamlessly segued the conversation into an even more serious topic (OMG, dating!).

Yesterday, we got a chance to spend some time with one of everyone's favorite German import bands, Tokio Hotel, who were in New York for the last date of their current U.S. tour. We wanted to spread some Halloween love, American style, to our visitors, so we brought them a boatload of every kind of candy we could think of. Today our very own Kim Stolz sat down with German teen rockers Tokio Hotel after their appearance on TRL. Tons of screaming fans lined the streets to get a glimpse of the four rockers, which is no surprise to the band considering everywhere they go, their devoted fans follow. Kim sat down with the guys and talked everything from their VMA nomination, which they deemed as extremely special, their upcoming album and their love of Rihanna. Tokio Hotel's Popularity: Some Real Live Germans Weigh In

For twentysomething Germans, the love might not extend past the Hoff.

Three friends from Hamburg recently came to New York for a visit. (Lovely bunch of people. Very open-minded, always up for anything.) One night during dinner — and somewhat out of the blue — their chief pop-culture export of the moment came up: Tokio Hotel.

On this side of the Atlantic, the boy band has been gathering both
buzz and rabid, ~~tween~~ young fans. (Hey, we already apologized for that one!) But my friends aren't buying into the hair, the eyeliner or the hype.

Words like "embarrassment" and "lame" were thrown around a lot. One woman said Tokio Hotel only appeal to "kids and teenagers between 6 and 12 years old" or those "too young to realize what kind of stupid phonies these boys are." My guy friend begged Americans like myself to "take them off our hands." He added, simply, "They suck."

I'll be the first to admit this was not exactly a scientific poll, though they could represent a bigger backlash to come. Is this band just part of a prepubescent phase, or are fans onto something big?
