We Say Farewell To Aubrey O'Day, As Fashion Week Comes To A Close

This week, Aubrey O'Day became an honorary member of the MTV News team as our celebrity correspondent for New York Fashion Week. We've been going to shows, fittings and parties with the fabulous former Danity Kane member.

So, it was with a heavy heart that Christina, Akshay, Micaela and I met up with Aubrey for our last day of shooting with her on Thursday. First off, we sat down with her for an interview at the W Lounge in the tents to get all the latest news about her career (new music, Playboy, her clothing line), which we'll share with you at a later date. During that sitdown, Aubrey told our camera guy, Akshay, that she thought his hair looked "sexy." It was sort of adorable. I mean who doesn't like to be called sexy by a celebrity?

After our time with Aubrey at the lounge, we headed off to the Christian Siriano show. Christian and Aubrey met for the first time (and seemed to really hit it off) when she interviewed him about his collection, which can be described as both sassy and lady-like. The collection was full of earth tones with touches of "Persian green," and celebrity attendees like Tori Spelling, Nina Garcia and "30 Rock" 's Katrina Bowden seemed to love it. Read More...

Girls' Night Out At Fashion Week With Aubrey O'Day

Any fashion show that seamlessly combines ballet dancers, a performance by Kat DeLuna and hot models clad in sequins, ruffles and platform shoes cannot be bad. But when that fashion show has not only models but the likes of former Danity Kane member Aubrey O'Day and Pamela Anderson gracing the catwalk, it can only get better.

That's what Christina, Micaela, Mary and I got to experience last night at the Richie Rich show at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. First we met up with Aubrey backstage, where she was getting made fabulous in hair and makeup. The backstage area could only be described as a hot mess of Richie Rich and his crew of scenesters, models, drag queens, Davis from "The Real World: Denver," Aubrey and us. Pamela was apparently getting beautified at an undisclosed locale in the hotel.

Aubrey O'Day Joins MTV News For New York's Fashion Week!

Can't get enough Aubrey O'Day? Well, that's kind of how we here at MTV News feel about the former Danity Kane singer. That's why we've invited her to join MTV News for New York's Fashion Week, where she'll both attend and appear in shows and (of course) party it up so that you our faithful readers can get the lowdown on what it's like to be a celebrity at fashion week.

On Tuesday, we met up with Aubrey as she got fitted to walk in the Richie Rich show that's taking place later today at the famed Waldorf Astoria hotel. And, the dynamic duo gave us a taste of what Aubrey might be wearing in the show. Spoiler alert! It's either the hot pink top or the celebutante dress! Decisions, decisions!

Not only will we be going to the show with Ms.O'Day, but tonight we'll also be hitting the afterparty. Tomorrow, we'll continue our Fashion Week coverage when we go to a few more shows and have a sit-down interview with Aubrey, where she'll dish on all the latest comings and goings in her life. Aubrey O'Day's Playboy Pictorial: We've Seen The Pictures!

When I sat down to interview Aubrey O'Day late in December, her upcoming Playboy pictorial was at the end of my list of questions — that's the time most reporters reserve for touchy subjects. But, to my surprise, Aubrey started talking about it right when she sat down for hair and makeup. Not only was she talking about it, she was showing her makeup artist some of the photos on her MacBook.

"I couldn't help but eavesdrop," I told her.

Aubrey O'Day's Latest Surprise: 'Love Fests' (!) With Her Dog

Aubrey O'Day has shared a lot of valuable information about her life with us. She told us about her plans for a solo record. She discussed her future, or lack thereof, with "Making the Band." She talked about her sexuality and her obsession with Miley Cyrus (though the two are not necessarily related). She complained about Perez Hilton being mean to her on his blog. And, let's not forget, the Pop Week MVP also confirmed that she posed for Playboy.

But there was a moment during our interview when Aubrey got really real with us, sharing something we actually weren't prepared for. We're going to disclose it to you now, but we're not sure you're going to believe it for yourself.

Aubrey brought her faithful dog, Ginger, to the interview. That seemed innocent enough, until ... well ... until Aubrey told us about "love fests" (her term, not ours) she likes to have with her dog. And then Aubrey and Ginger sort of made out with each other before our eyes. It's really sort of hard to describe, but if you can handle it, see for yourself.

She's ready for her Playboy close-up, and she's also ready to leave Diddy, "Making the Band" and Danity Kane behind. On top of all this, Aubrey is still finding out who she is in her personal life.

It feels like we know everything there is to know about Aubrey O'Day. The best part is, she even admits that. "I'm a very honest person," she told us. "I'm an open book. You can kind of see that. There is nothing fake about me, actually, besides my hair, and it's not always fake, but today it happens to be fake."

But we here at MTV News managed to find out five things you might not know about Miss O'Day.

1. "I traveled around the world. I sailed around the world, actually," she shared. "I went to Japan, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Tanzania, South Africa, Brazil and Cuba."

2. "When I traveled around the world, I met with Fidel Castro, Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama," she revealed. "And I went to the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China, those are probably the neatest things."
